Those big hooks WILL destroy those small plastic baits. ...Also, your pond is absolutely NO GOOD to judge a baits worthyness. Those fish in there will eat ANYTHING! You could put your shoelace on a #1 hook and fish it on 10 lb. test line and have a great day! You know I'm right! You are SO blessed to have that fishery! ...This was a really cool video. I used to have a fishery like that and it was SO much fun to fish there. That Smokin Rooster was most likely discontinued because it has TOO MUCH plastic. It gets balled up on the hook and in the fishes mouth. Too many missed hook ups per bites ratio. KEEP the lipless! Take the hooks off, add two split rings and put on smaller hooks. Problem solved. ... I loved xcaliber! ...That buzzbait design just doesn't work. The fish part of the lure itself provides too much leverage for the fish to get off. ...they sure have improved frog bait design since then.. I loved how excited you got when you caught that frog fish. Honestly... you could send me that whole box of baits except the top water frog and buzzbait, and I would use them all. Fun video!
You should do a video trying Bo's Bait Co. They are locally owned and operated by a veteran. Custom colors on plastic and hard baits. Many options and they work great.
Excalibur and Xcalibur were both under the parent company of Pradco. Excalibur offered better finishes as well as upgraded Excalibur rotating treble hooks on baits from the Pradco family ie Bomber, Heddon, Cotton Cordell, etc. For instance you could buy a Fat Free Shad in either line, and the bait itself was the same.

Those Yamamoto soft baits would be great for smallmouth bass fishing. The problem is that they only last for one or two fish and then they are torn up.

Yep definitely topwater season. Been tossing an ol rattle pop around. First blow-up was about three days ago. Been crushing em ever since. That buzz bait one was nice. She really tried to throw it too.👍👍👍😄😄😄

Resurrect the frog. Very possible that old age affected the plastic. Getting a Resurrection would make it more supple being newer.
Go to a smaller hook with the worm and lizard ued like a size 1 or 2 bass hook there like the small zoom worm and lizard but it more money

That hedden lure is called a super sonic and yes they are discontinued. It's a lipless though and a fish catcher in some places.
The rage tail is 6.99$ on strike kings site. Like the space monkey it's still available but not super popular like the rage craw, menace, bug ect.
Add some split rings and new hooks to the super sonic and go fish it. You'll enjoy it better.
