I am from Ireland, I would like to apologise to all the world.
Sure apologise for our best entry in over 20 years of the contest
Yeah, it's certainly not a good look. Of course we, in the neighboring countries, know this isn't what Ireland is about.

Nemo (the "winner") didn't even reach the top 3 public/televote...
Yeah but he actually delivered something enjoyable compared to the rest of the woke candidates.
@@Mr_X_7206and you think he wasn't woke?
@@Mr_X_7206XD
@@Mr_X_7206 I agree he`s a really good singer
I think the televote should have way more importance. I feel like the judges always vote for someone that's not as good. And they almost always seem to vote for the same person, like last year for Loreen (what tf was that????) and this year for Nemo. The song was not bad but there were better. Like france or croatia
German here. Last year, "our" band even refused to wave a German flag ... and instead preferred a "Progressive Pride" flag. That`s the Eurovision Song Contest nowadays: woke - woker - the wokest! It`s completely taken over... it once used to be a serious song contest, then changed to "funny" and "crazy", and now it is a bizarre catwalk of disgusting wokeness.
Correct my German friend.
All the best from blighty.
@@Peter-uy3ti Wow,... to be honest, I didn`t know the (slang) term "Blighty" - until now. Best regards to England/Blighty 🙂
It won't take over for long.
Not only did it change from being a serious Song Contest to be "funny" "crazy" and might I add "weird" to woke nonsense, so many songs are so insanely forgettable. Eurovision was what shoot off the career of ABBA or Celine Dion. A lot of the Winner sometimes have a little bit of a career in their home country but the majority of these people dissapear into obscurity again after their win.
Personally I grew up with the Song Contest being a bit weird. But it used to be usually just one or two outlier who were more on the weird side.
To me the Song Contest felt like a huge party all over Europe and everyone having fun. Nowadays it's the other way around that the exception is a "normal" song over insanity. I used to love watching the Contest. I cheered over being last (yes, fellow German here) and I enjoyed a lot of the songs... but the more woke it got the more political themes have been shoved in the less interest I've had. Nowadays I barely even notice when it happens. (This year because of the drama sourrounding everything)
It's no longer about coming together as Europe, coming together and sing Songs and vote who's best. It has become a show off who is the most Woke and the most insane of them all, and who's political belief is the most important. And who's politics are the most controversial right now.
As an American, I've never seen much of how "woke" (More like sleeping through common sense lessons) Europe is except for maybe the UK, and I haven't even seen anything of Eurovision except for the short clips in this video, but now I want even less to ever go to Europe. These short clips alone are enough to seriously make me question humanity's survival.
"I'm special because I'm a queer" no but this is so tragic actually. The way she literally waits for the applause, and not really with pride or confidence, but with that lurking fragility in her eyes in the second before they start cheering. Like it's so painfully obvious she actually does think that being queer is the only way she can matter and be supported and loved, and being a witch the only way she can have a sense of control or power. Imagine genuinely believing that your sexual expression is the only thing you can offer to the world and you have to rely on the occult for your voice to be heard
Cults prey on vulnerable people and make people vulnerable.
lol pride is one of the seven deadly sins
I like your detailed orientation.
@@MeghanMartin Pride is the worst, that's why it's first.
Europe culturally in on the downfall trend for about 150 years already. Next it will either bounce back or fail completely due to middle-east culture expansion. or will be replaced by trans humanism wave. first you say liberty is good and individualism is good, so next you fight culture, traditions, religion, collective identity, next you have nothing left to fight against so you fight your own identity as human being claiming you are non binary person or not even human, but unicorn for example, next you gotta be ready to be replaced by stronger groups of people, like middle-east people who will early take over from that moment. or yes, be replaced by the machines.just sit and watch these processes in next 20 years.
So true. And on what grounds she bases her denial to be a woman?
Eurovision is the perfect example of what's wrong with the world.
Exactly .. This is supposed to be entertaining?
The propaganda is off the scale.
Can we agree that every performer that dressed up like a demon or a clown, and every protestor that came there just to attack the Israeli singer, are actively dishonoring their entire ancestral line and nation?
With the world ? I don't think so. With US and its colonies. The rest of the world won't follow but rather watch us fall. Euro-atlantic « progressive values » are exactly what Russia, China, India, Middle East and more fight against.
100%. The ideology of cultural decay
It’s an example of what’s wrong (ireland, UK, Switzerland) and what’s right (Ukraine, Norway, a lot of them are really good)
Why did you intentionally left out good performers? Latvia had full dressed heterosexual performer with amazing vocals and good song.
Because it isn't the majority
@@narcleptik It is not exactly true. Western Europe and Northern Europe represent the woke ideology, while Eastern Europe, the Balkans and a part of Central Europe are still "normal". But true, they never win or become famous.

my seven-year-old nephew's best friend in his class watched this and came to me who she trusted and whispered to not have her liberal parents scold her and she asked me about a trans artist in the Eurovision, that is a man, right? why then is he dressing up like a woman, what are they trying to do with me, I feel they are trying to do something with me?.. I told her as it is, yes, they are trying to trick you, lie to you, manipulate you to like them, to become like them.. but you are 100% right, it is just a man, a man that is luring you, so your feelings are true, you are right to feel something is wrong, is something seriously wrong with such man. I'm a gay Eurovision fan but I can't stand when the contestants try so hard to be activists and want to be special even in a sea of gay people.
To be fair though, other than being the singing Olympics, the appeal of Eurovision is also the spectacle, the weird, the cringe, the over-the-top, the drama, the trashy. You gotta embrace it to be able to enjoy it.

That's what Marko (Baby Lasagna) who came in 2nd says about his faith (he's a Catholic and not afraid to admit it):
"I stopped listening to some of my favorite bands, especially those whose iconography and songs were anti-Christian, but that happened naturally. Just like a bodybuilder who wants to go to a competition won't eat pizza. They just don't go together."
"My dream has always been to make a living from music, but sometimes I'm not sure if that's God's will for me. I am inspired by the saints, their modesty and poverty, and I wonder how to reconcile the two. Then again, maybe it's really necessary to bring something that is not just sex, drugs and light notes into this mud we call music. That is the next topic I will discuss with the priest (laughter)."
Baby Lasagna says that "it's easily possible that this is a hard shot in the foot, but I can't help it," commenting on Josip Bošnjak's "Road to Eurosong" show that the Eurovision audience will react to his statements about religion.
"Every morning I read several chapters of the Bible because I consider it important to know His Word. I also listen to spiritual music, watch Chosen (I cried, I think, every episode)… in fact, I find things that comfort me everywhere. But the Eucharist means the most to me, and I definitely adore dawn masses at the time of Advent. Last year I only missed one…”
"You have to say what you believe in... The fear is still there. You know, the one, we come here for pre-parties, we all eat together and I cross myself before eating. (...) This is my belief, which I think is true and I would not be able to sleep if I were to hide it, if I were to lie, if I were to get away with it...", Baby Lasagna told reporters.
"I would like to become like the saints who wanted to die for their Lord. As St. Peter who asked to be crucified upside down. At the same time, there is a voice inside me that tells me that I am not brave enough or strong enough. But it still resonates more strongly: 'Don't be afraid.'"

She is the real winner when her performance in the grand final cannot even reach 4 million views, when her song can barely get 300k stream on Spotify per day and when she lost the televoting from a Croatian artist singing about cats
@Halfling4 she got second in the televotes, which is what matters, if croatia won I would understand but Switzerland? Completely political
The disqualification of the Netherlands had nothing to do with Israël, nor with any of the performers or delegations. Thats just media BS for ya.
(Contex) As far as we know now, it was a collision between the artist and a female journalist/camerawomen, after she was (alledgedly) continiuosly bothering him, just after leaving stage. Though some speculate it was perhaps a permeditated confrontation, the investigation has only just been finished today (may 13th) so full details are not out yet.

Dude from Belgium here. Eurovision has devolved from a music contest into a cringe fashion show, now complete with influences from political sides.
It was very funny though: when a "straight" artist gets on stage, there is no focus on the schreksuality whatsoever.
When a non-binairy artist takes to the stage, it is proudly announced: here is the non-binairy contestant from "whereeverthefukc" followed by the clapping of seels and dewgongs.

I remember watching it as a family growing up, but I can’t say that it’s a family friendly show anymore. It’s disturbing and disgusting to see Eurovision give a thumbs up to an act that is openly demonic. I think this year’s show was the last straw for me.
There was literally nothing wrong with netherlands. The song was from the genre gabber which is from the 90s and originates in nl and its about the loss of his parents and how you cant run away from pain, but also about the love for Europe. There have been some updates about the 'incident' around the Dutch singer this year:
First off, this is what happened, according to a statement from the Dutch broadcasting company:
1. The singer, Joost Klein, left the podium emotionally, which is understandable, as his song was a love letter to his parents who died when he was still young.
2. A Swedish canerawoman decided to go against the agreements and decided to film him.
3. Joost Klein told her to stop filming, but she continued.
4. Joost repeated that he didn't want to be filmed, which she still ignored.
5. Joost got angry and made a 'threatening motion' towards her, but he never hit her, or the camera.
6. The camerawoman filed a complaint to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), who decided to not allow Joost Klein to participate.
7. Joost Klein tried offer to talk things out with the camerawoman and to offer a public apology. Both were declined by both the camerawoman and the EBU.
8. The EBU decided to officially disqualify Joost Klein.
Second, the Swedish authorities are now even investigating and the EBU is now likely gonna take legal action.
Wow, that sounds really messed up...
what are the sources for these details?

I watched Eurovision live and it was wonderful. The clips shown are horribly compressed, distorting the vocals. The live performances and music videos for each song are quite good. I personally loved Bambi Thug's song, it mixes metal and pop quite well. The harsh vocals are proceeded by a pop-y chorus, creating a striking juxtaposition. I can see how Eurovision wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, but I personally enjoy Europe's blasé attitude towards sexualized performance. America can be a little too prudish at times.
Also Nemo's song was really sweet! I'd imagine Misha couldn't play much without getting hit with a copyright claim, but I recommend checking out the performance and judging for yourself =)

Fun (SAD) facts:
1. The Israeli song they were boing was originally called "October rain" and it talks about the horrors of october the 7th but since some people find it "offensive" to say that it actually happened, the song was changed by the jury into "hurricane". the song she was singing as a memorial to those who lost their lives (some of them were her friends)? thats the song they were "Boooeing" to
2. The protestors outside of the venue that were called "lil aggresive" demended of everyone who was trying to get into the venue "passporst" to prove they are "not ewish" they in the end did found someone jewish, a tiny woman, and she ended up in the hospital after they atk her with a blunt object.
3. Eden (the israeli singer) couldn't bring her parents to watch the her preformence since she was getting DE TH THR THS.
Finish with some good:
4. WITH ALL OF THAT, and with the fact the jury spacificlly made sure not to give Israel any points, the actual people in the audiance give Hurricane the 2th place (!) it seems, people didn't enjoy what the h happened there.

The Eurovision Contest has become a freak show. I don't watch it anymore.
Misha, please read this comment. It trully is good natured. Its not personal.
Coming from a mid-right person who watches eurovision each year, I think this video is a bit unfair. Yeah, some participants lean their performances on their "queer, gay, whatever..." side, and they are a bit silly. Personally, I don't like those kinds of acts, but I am able (unlike most people it appears) to split my subjective opinion and what i objectively think was good. Nemo (the guy with a skirt and a pink blouse) didn't win because he was queer, at least that wasn't the main reason. The main reason was his voice quality&variation and his dynamic performance. And that's coming from someone who leans more to the conservative side of politics. However, by pointing out this single example I am not stating that all LGBTQ+ performances in eurovision are good. They are not. Some of them are truly below average and perhaps even distasteful. However, i think its unfair that you mark eurovision as a whole as a queer shit show. Because its not. This video (and the title) is a bit deceiving. Each year there are about 40 songs competing and 26 make it to the final. Out of this 40, maybe 4-6 are LGBTQ+ related, and not all of them make it through. The reality is that most of the performants don't bother that much with gender politics and solely focus on their song and their performances - some of them are meh, some good, and some really brilliant. My point is, there's too much work and effort put in from various artists from various parts of the world - for you to just try to paint eurovision with this one sided label: eurovision is woke trash. Perhaps if you actually tried and went through all the performances, and have done it without loaded preasumptions, you would actually see some quality. Not necesserily from Ireland or Switzerland, (if you can't go past your political opinion and see them as great performants (not politicaly, but in their genres)), but someone else.
Respectfuly, your fan.
Unironically: Thankyou for your comment. It's so nice to read a comment that isn't just one-sided for the sake of being one-sided, but it's well articulated, and even the criticism in regards to this video is both respectfully and not 'over the top' (unlike lots of current UA-cam videos). Nice!
As an American who has never seen Eurovision, it's nice that we're not the ones embarrassing ourselves for once. All the performers in this video just seem like Doja Cat wannabes. I once liked Eurovision to be honest, it was a show I never took serious, but it was fun to watch with my friends growing up. We would rank our favorites and bake bake and decorate the cookies so they looked like all the flags and so on... that was back in the late 2000s and the early 2010s... but last time I watched the show was 2014, I stopped because I kind of "grew out of it".
But this year, for some reason, UA-cam recommended me to watch the Grand Final, and I listened to it in the background... and I must say I was pretty shocked. I'll never watch whatever that was ever again....
I miss the old Eurovision, when the show was about the talent and not about who's more queer and oppressed.
