    • @icuk7
      @icuk7 16 днів тому +1

Yeah, for the price the new gen of Thermalright coolers go for, it's mind boggling how they sell them for so cheap.
I recently built a work colleague a budget gaming PC using a B660M Mortar WiFi, 12600k, a Thermalright contact frame with a Silver Soul 135. It took a bit of fiddling to get the cooler brackets straight as the holes were slightly off.
But once the brackets were lined up and the actual cooler was secured, that cooler kept the CPU under 80 degrees during 6 hours of Prime95 small FFT which is actually quite impressive for 25gbp shipped.
Jufus's build is ridiculously cheap tho, hard to beat that price to performance even if you buy used parts!

This is like a Budget PC variant. You can buy THERMALRIGHT Phantom Spirit 120 SE. Almost the same performance as DeepCool for much less money.
Although I would always choose a processor with integrated graphics.
I think this video is a bit missliding. Because it does not use stock RAM from the link in the video description.
You should have tried the Stock processor variant without delidding and without lapping and with RAM from the link in the video description.

    Hey Frame,
Just found the channel today from a reddit comment.
I'm looking at building a new system and I'm feeling very on the fence about which CPU I should choose.
I have 3 options i'm thinking currently, but before I mention those, I'd like to say I primarily use my system for gaming, but in the future will be doing blender, unreal engine, unity, programming etc.
    I know flatout the i7-13700k and i7-14700k outperform the Ryzen 9 7800x3d.
However, I really like future upgrade potential with AMD. But also I know if I get one of these CPU's they'll probably be good for 2k gaming for at least 3-4 years?
Also I like that AMD does not require tuning. Can I get away with no tuning for i7?
Watching your video about the new intel 15th gen, it makes me think staying with 14th gen and just buying that is the better play.
    Your thoughts?
    Cheers.

Jufus, talk about issues with Intel that everyone from Wendell, to Hardware Unboxed, to Gamers Nexus are talking about
In my case I had no game crashes with my first 13900k, but I had to RMA my chip because it was locking up my Windows 11 system randomly, and then started causing blue screens during non-gaming stuff
I was on Aorus Master Z690, and I can't say for certain if memory was at fault, because I still overclocked it to like 6700 mhz or so. Though it did pass TM5 Extreme777 for over 24 hours for like a good week, cause I kept testing different timings
    I ran CPU at 5.5/4.3ghz P-Core/E-Core
I did have an error about "Out of Video Memory" but only happened with RTX 4080 on first CPU, so I put in my RTX 4090 and it stopped doing it. The only time it did it was opening Red D$ed Redemption 2, it would not start with that message.
But I had to RMA the CPU and 2nd CPU that came had zero lock ups, but it did show out of memory message during RDR2 start up again twice, but never again. I actually had a shitload of tabs in Opera GX open, so once I closed it, I was fine again.
Can you speak on whether you encountered that issue.
To me 13900k was the most stable CPU I ever had, in games. Games refuse to error out, unless I mod the f out of them, and at that point it's not GPUs fault.
Any game without heavy mods does NOT crash with 13900k, first or 2nd CPU that it replaced.
I am interested in your opinion on this, maybe you saw something that I didn't. It's a hot topic right now with 13900k and 14900k
I also run my CPUs in long runs of AIDA64 to make sure it's stable and not overheating.
I noticed that initially I had watts set to 300 watts, and turned off multicore enhancement. Then began to have lockups
2nd CPU I limited to 262 watts, and turned off multicore enhancement. I see no lock ups.
I am not sure if multicore enhancement does anything for performance, but I do see an insane boost to heat, and it will easily draw over 300 watts with multicore ehancement on.

In theory yes. But t sku CPU's tend to be lower bins that are less able to achieve higher clocks. However silicon lottery may sometimes surprise you. So it depends on what odds you like.

I've always felt Intel gimps the non-k chips too much to protect the K's prices. Back in the days everything was locked and we had to get far more creative you'd often get amazing numbers from the cheapest chips. The silicon is just as good if you're willing to get creative.

My R7 5800X3D with DDR4@3733-16-16-16-36 makes 225 fps on 1% lows/ 405 fps on average in CoD - MW III.
12400F (OC) is better than 5800X3D, or in general, Intel is better than AMD in CoD?
I know that 14900K (stock) has better 1% lows than 7800X3D in CoD, but these CPUs have newer/better architecture than Zen3/Alder Lake.

Very decent budget option .paid 647 usd for amd motherboard+cpu that runs @5.75ghz and draws a little less power I believe? Crazy good performance for 200 usd!! Not sure what fps I have in those game but in csgo2 1440 all ultra I get between 350 and 500 depending on the map(amd 7800xt gpu cuz 4080 to expensive...)😊

  • @StoyanBorisov

You keep on saying $200 platform, yet it's not even close to that - CPU $98, MB - $110, RAM (T-Force Delta) - $140, Cooler - $34 for a grand total of ~ $382, and that is almost ~91% more money than the cited "$200 platform" throughout the video, let alone that you're testing with your hand picked RAM (worth $499 alone) which is I am sure much more stable and at least on paper ~6% faster than the referred kit... With all that said, yeah, the performance uplift is there, but won't be so much with the components from the description, and it SURE ain't no $200 platform...

Search "Zen 5, New Motherboards, CAMM2 Memory, RDNA4 Whispers - Computex Recap"
And around 10 minute mark you can hear their story about AMD 9950x not beating 14900k
I wanted AMD to win at least generationally, and I am on Intel 13900k
If that's the case then 15900k will beat 9950x

You did a non insane spender video. This is a good video. Like 7-8 years ago old tech tuber glory days.
The cheap cost BUT good overclocking product was always where it was at. THAT’S what started the interest in PC gaming in 2014/2015 and beyond for YouTubing.
Not this influencer crap and just paying for the most expensive thing with barely any 2-5 percent increase from the cheap but good overclocked product. That’s where modern AMD and especially old Intel dropped the ball. Greed, America’s religion.
