John Deacon was always forthright about writing this song (It was written on bass) as an homage to Bernard Edwards' (Chic) bass-driven song, Good Times (also used for Rapper's Delight). He wanted to put a rock spin on the composition. Good shit.

Thank you Mr John Deacon for writing this. Queen often say that when this song was released, over the radio, many people in the US didn’t realise they were white because it had a “black vibe” to it. Freddie loved this song & pushed for it to be on the album
I would recommend Somebody to Love and We Are the Champions next. Also their Live Aid performance is essential viewing - Freddie was a genius at working a crowd 🔥🤴🌟
Half - I'm right there with ya. I seriously didn't realize that Queen sang this until I saw this video come into my notifications. Crazy. I wouldn't have thought it was them. I remember this song as the roller dome! Imagine skating to this ....

Forty years later that movie was remade and I told her what I did. She laughed and said she checked my head too when I was sleeping.

If you continue to do Queen, you will hit “Somebody to Love”. Most people rank the live in Montreal version Freddie’s best vocals ever. The live version in Milton Keynes is more improvisational, and he really goes to church. Song was inspired by Aretha Franklin. But it’s one of Queens best loved songs.
I grew up on a lot of the rock that you've been reacting to; Queen, Bon Jovi, Guns and Roses, even further back when you reacted to the Righteous brothers.

We would sing this on the bus ride home from field hockey games when we won. This plus We Are The Champions and ending with our school song. Our friends and family knew that if they heard this coming down the road, it meant we won. And we won a lot. ❤️
Only band where every member has written a Billboard #1 song
Yay!! THE QUEEN RABBIT HOLE. You won’t regret it!! You should see this live in Wembley 1986. Awesome! Written by the bassist John Deacon & thank goodness MJ encouraged Queen to release it. Michael loved Queen & was a big fan of Freddie. He would go backstage when Queen was in town for a concert.
You should also check out COOL CAT or PAIN IS SO CLOSE TO PLEASURE kind of a Motown feel. SOMEBODY TO LOVE was written by Freddie inspired by Aretha Franklin. Definitely do it live in Montreal 1981. Great reaction!!
Picture this I want this Played in the Hurst on the way to my grave site lol and the Hurst has got to have hydraulics.....
😂😆🤣
Jai's laugh had me in stitches, this was a great reaction 😄
Her laughter is amazing
and the tune was composed by John Deacon the base guitarist and the lyrics were freddie and may.
I remember seeing radio gaga video in Senegal 🇸🇳 at the age of 10 and was hooked ever since. Queens is one mine favorite bands. Freddie Mercury's voice is one in a million. Gone to soon.
You should take a 2nd look at 1986 Wembley "Another one bites the dust " and how he controls the audience. You won't regret!
