    Surprising review, I was a fan of the Salomon speedway and figured this would be just as stiff since it’s the successor. Good to know

    I see there's a Huck Knife Pro hanging on your wall. Waiting on the review for that guy. I just got mine, and wanted to hear your experience. I'm thinking to get Nitro Team Pro bindings for this board.

    hello!! i just found very good price for one highpath 159. i'm 180cm, 80kg and 10 US boot. it will be fine for allround board?

    Wow super supersized. Was looking to replace my Speedway with this, but looks like I’ll be looking harder at an Alchemist instead. Glad I waited for your review

      Coming from a Speedway I'd look at the Alchemist or Antidote from K2.

    Is it similar to the Sick Stick flex wise? Have a 160, fun to carve but you have to hold the body in a light position and let the sidecut take it through without too much drive

    Been thinking about a softer board, would like to demo first. Anything else that's a notch up on the stiffer side that you would recommend?

    How this thing compare to the K2 Passport? Been looking at both for a new board this season. Still rocking a K2 Carveair as my every day driver

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  Рік тому +1

      Softer, less edge hold, less snap, less dampness, it's just a lesser board.

  • @stevieg2927

    How’s this compare to the flex of the Super 8?
    Been looking at the Highpath, Super 8, and K2 Instrument for riding more on the Freeride side of All Mtn

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  Рік тому +1

      It's noticeably stiffer. In terms of flex from softest to stiffest it goes Highpath, Instrument (marginal difference between the two), and then the Super 8.

    Just used this deck a few days ago and almost self unalived by trying some manhandle butters and that tail definitely will fold if too much power is used.

    Off topic question, but wondering if you could help me? I'm planning to buy a new 2023 capita mercury but not sure which size to get (155 or 157). I'm around 5'7/5'8 with 155/160lbs and 10 boot size. They both fit my weight range, so I'm not sure. Also, do you think I could rock this with union strata since you recommended them for the last year model or should I upgrade them to atlas or flacor?

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  Рік тому +1

      Strata's are fine, 55 is more what you need, only issue is board width with that 10.

    Just bought this, havent taken it on the mountain yet. Im regretting it. I was hoping this would allow me to push some strong and heavy carves at higher speeds from early morning groomers that will last through mid day potatoes. Sounds like it wont. Is there something else you can recommend that would be better for that type of riding?

    Nice review, but your weight. Is that without gear on? As you'd be pushing the weight limits of the 156 if it is. No wonder it felt like a noodle. Definitely size up to 60's range

    Too funny HOW DIFFERENT your take is compared to Beastie's (TGR) review. I think you're a true (damnnn good) snowboarder... as compared to Beastie's (self-proclaimed "average rider") label he puts on himself. Just interesting the different takes... But, in this instance, I'm taking your word over his --- but, then again, it's hard to compare (or even think about) another kick-off all-mtn board when I'm riding the best damn board I've had the pleasure to own -- one of your faves as well (the 157 '23 Shadowban) ---- I just ADORE my board / it's just a masterpeice (imo). Ha, regardless, I always dig your dry thread / no butter on it reviews... Just, here it is. These are my thoughts about it. Care, or don't. ha, right-on, Avran. You are definitely my go-to for no nonsense takes on boards.
    Hey man, just thought, it would be cool to see a review (or a classic top-5) reviewing some old-school boards... Top-5 best all mountain boards of the 2010s? 2000's?
    Ha, Wait. I'll answer for myself.
    You --- " No."
    Ha, thought it was worth a shot.
    It wasn't.
    Apologies.

      If the board is sized right, which it wasn't in this review, I'm sure it will hold up more than well enough, especially if riders like Nils Mindich do what they do on it.

    Sup angry, love your account. You gave me advice on a park board a few weeks ago, got the public dispute and I'm loving it! Definitely going to become a member now and I'll spread the word so u can get more subscribers. Could u help me out deciding between an all mountain freeride/freestyle board?
    Need enough stiffness to charge thru chop, need some good pop bc my riding is mostly focused on tranny finding/side hits/cliffs/anywhere I can get air. I also spin and flip. I don't want it to be too stiff because I'm big on buttering. But with that said it's fine if the board is stiff because I can still force a board to do what I want and there are upsides to a stiff board. Was going with the highpath but I need a good carver/something that'll hold up on a hard set up turn going into a kicker. I like a mellow camber and nice rocker on the tips. I used to ride a custom flying v that I'd set back for my all mountain freestyle riding.
    Options: ride berzerker, gnu hyper, salomon highpath (#1 choice but second guessing now), salomon dancehaul, k2 alchemist (#2 choice, Gabe Ferguson rips it and we have similar riding styles), k2 antidote, k2 passport (might not be aggressive enough), capita mega merc, burton hometown hero (I dislike the channel and would rather not go with burton).
    Boots are the nitro capital tls and the bindings for my freeride set up are the salomon alibi. What u think?

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  Рік тому

      Are you looking for more of a pow board or a freeride board? Your choices are kind of all over the place.

    • @jacobbelgrad8034
      @jacobbelgrad8034 Рік тому

      @@AngrySnowboarder True- I just have so many options because I'm not sure if I should specify my quiver or get a do it all freeride board. I'm looking for a freeride board but I still need it to handle well enough in the pow. I don't chase pow enough to warrant a straight pow board. I'm mostly a colorado resort rider. For example, I want to ride this board on a late season A Basin slushy powder day where I can bring it on the east wall but also take it all around the mountain looking for natural features and trying tricks. I'm going up to BC this winter tho and will be hitting revelstoke/rogers pass and need it to handle that too. Really I just need a natural selection type of board. I'm considering the lib dynamo too. All I really know is I need it to handle big natural features, it's a plus if I can take it to the park, I like buttering, I need pop, I want it directional and set back, need enough rocker and a floaty nose.
