@@goodbyeiquityoutube I can't remember the model off the top of my head, but it had the main button on the right, a smaller light button on the left, and the lock switch on top
Couple things to try, 1 make sure the chain isn't too tight, and make sure the down limit isn't set too far. If you set the limit too far itll push up on the rail making it bow like you said it is. It's not always something to worry too much about, because the rails you get with box store openers nowadays aren't that great
@@TBHD724 thanks for responding but the rail was bowed when i was putting it together I figured it would straighten itself out once i put it all together but it didn’t the unit works ok but it’s noisy because the chain is banging against it really annoying
You might have to try clearing the programming in the car first by holding the 2 outer buttons until the light changes. Then try the programming again, if it still doesn't work let me know
For 150 bucks not a bad opener. I do agree that it should have soft stop because it's really rough on especially pan doors I've installed them on
The older wall button with the lock switch on top works on these if you have one. 👍
I have several wall buttons that work on this. I just used the one that came in the box cause it was right there
what older wall button is it

Been trying to program this remote for at least an hour now. No luck. Light on opener motor keeps flashing red.
Are you using a compatible remote?
Just install one at my house and how to program it to another remote control?
Press and hold the program set button for a couple seconds till the LED on the bottom comes on, then press the remote button until the opener runs
I put one together and the rail is bowed and i cant seem to get it straight any suggestions

Sounds like a factory defect, try calling genie and see if you can get a new rail under warranty
i cant get my remote to program it didnt come with a pre programed single button one it came with a 2 button universal for some reason
Is the universal remote you got with it branded as chamberlain or liftmaster? If so, that doesn't work with these openers
@@TBHD724 it is a genie one i got it to work but now my car wont connect to it

What year is the car? Some older cars can't recognize dual frequency radios and the new Genies don't work with single frequency radios anymore
Pretty good opener.
the genie 2028 opener at my old house looks like this one
The 2028 is very similar to this. The differences are that the 2028 uses a C-Channel rail, and the 2028 also has a soft stop
@@TBHD724 ya and it uses a genie wall button with a light and lock switch and it does not come with a keypad
nice
Thank you. Good god
