What can I say except thank you very much. It has been relaxing and interesting. I left BR? In 1998 after a second 8year stint. Politics got in the way of a good job sadly, glad to go. I've not been near the railway since. It is good to see what is out there today as an observer, but holds no particular charm for me now. Getting old? 66. Old fashioned guy at heart. Your new hobby suits you as it's a purpose, and gets you about too. Get my bus/rail pass January, so who knows where I might end up!! 😀😀😀

@@WalesRail l'll look out for it. I was a community carer for 20 years, mostly aged and infirm, so I have some understanding. Loss of independence is the worst scenario. Enjoy what you can while you can. Meanwhile we will all enjoy the results. 😀😀😀

0:28 (It is recommended to pause to see better): Since when did the 59th class wear a bell? To my knowledge, in the UK, a bell engine is very rare to see. And more, if the locomotive was of American construction, since the class 59 was built by EMD.

It's the first loco of the class of 59. So it has a bell

@@WalesRail And here is the million question: will the Bell work?

Hi Emilio nope lol just for show. In the UK we don't use them. The UK doesn't have the trackside open it's all fenced even in the countryside.

@@WalesRail Uuuuuuh!!! What a pity! with how interesting it could be for the bell to be heard. Also, in Australia, there are American locomotives. And while there are no circulation factor signs for the bells, the Bell themselves work... And I think even their Australian counterpart, the class 43 HST, has a Bell. Namely. The vast majority of rolling stock in Australia is American-made... even the level crossing bells themselves. But only class 43 HST, a class 08 that had the V/Line and some level crossing bells (which are very few) are what could be considered British material in Australia.

Yes I agree. However as nothing in the UK has a bell it would probably be mistaken for the sound of churches. Locomotives have horns to warn if required. I'm not sure I think the King George 1V steam locomotive which was fitted with a bell when it did its world tour still has a functional bell.
