- On September 9th 1943, Marlene Dietrich was MC of the Command Performance Radio Broadcast to Service Men & Women in action overseas. Here are Marlene's two songs with dialogue from the broadcast & photographs of Marlene during WWII. The songs are "The Boys in the Backroom" with altered lyrics for the WWII situation & "You've Got That Look".
***Dedicated to my friend Irene of MarleneXtreme channel, who keeps Marlene's flame burning brightly. - Розваги
This brave woman put her life at risk tirelessly entertaining front-line Allied troops in WWII. Having renounced her German citizenship to become an American and also having been a fervent anti-Nazi, she would have been treated harshly if captured, which almost happened on at least one occasion. She called her wartime work for the armed forces "the only really important thing I've ever done." Marlene Dietrich was an American hero.
Well put, Thank you. :) Still loving Marlene 7 years later! ♥

Working on indexing a WWII oral history from a war correspondent, who was with Marlene in Verdun, brought me here. You know she had some amazing stories. Should be a movie made about her focusing on WWII.

Cant stand under a Lamplight without thinking of Marlene
She was a shining example of the German people in those dark times. She may have not been originally American, but if she doesn't quality for a true patriot I don't know what will. She's got the best of both worlds.
And at 6:19, there's a plane named after Marlene. XD
