Just because a movie is a box office failure doesn't make it a bad movie. Barbie has made a billion dollars but it ain't gonna win any Oscars. I found Amsterdam to be thoroughly enjoyable despite not being a box office smash. If you didn't enjoy them that's a just a shame.

I loved this movie - just finished watching it for the second night in a row, that good. I found the first time I had a hard time following the story... I always felt a step behind understanding what was going on. I think if they added some character name captions on screen as they appear that would have helped a lot (they do it with some random dudes at the end that didn't matter). Such a treasure of a film tho! Historical, rich, comical, lovely.

It’s Chivo Lubezki who returns to filmmaking since he pulled out of Roma last minute and hadn’t worked since. Won 3 Oscars in a row, would have been 4 with Roma.

This movie is awesome! The story, the actors, the richness of the sets, the colouring... everything is great! Christian Bale is hilarious as usual. That man still has so much potential, but the rest of the cast is equally wonderful.
I loved this movie on several levels: First, most people have no clue what WWI and WWII were like and how much they continued to affect everyone's lives mentally and physically after the wars actually ended. This covers a lot of situations and struggles that really happened. People found ways to cope with and survive hard lives they didn't ask for or deserve. So much was lost on so many levels. The filmography, script, timing, all seemed really great to me. And yes, the AMAZING ACTORS really made this an even more amazing movie.

I know someone who worked on the set of "American Hustle" who's said the truly worst aspects of Russell's behavior still hasn't seen the light of day yet and I know someone else who was forced to sign an NDA after Russell assaulted him on the set of "Joy" simply for accidentally bumping into him.

Late to the party but what an amazing movie. Wish they didnt changes the names of the real life people this story is based off of, but knowing Butlers background its hard not to imagine the producers would pass up an incredible chance to turn this movie in to a franchise, given that there is so much to be said about Butlers life and exposure that would be enlightening for all to vicariously see and experience. Again, what a delight to see this movie. I do hope theres more to be made.

when a lot of big names agree to work together on a movie that isn't a money-cow franchise blockbuster or isn't exclusively filmed in Las Vegas, you can expect the script and production to be really good quality

This movie is awesome! The story, the actors, the richness of the sets, the colouring... everything is great! Christian Bale is hilarious as usual. That man still has so much potential, but the rest of the cast is equally wonderful.
I loved this movie on several levels: First, most people have no clue what WWI and WWII were like and how much they continued to affect everyone's lives mentally and physically after the wars actually ended. This covers a lot of situations and struggles that really happened. People found ways to cope with and survive hard lives they didn't ask for or deserve. So much was lost on so many levels. The filmography, script, timing, all seemed really great to me. And yes, the AMAZING ACTORS really made this an even more amazing movie.

Late to the party but what an amazing movie. Wish they didnt changes the names of the real life people this story is based off of, but knowing Butlers background its hard not to imagine the producers would pass up an incredible chance to turn this movie in to a franchise, given that there is so much to be said about Butlers life and exposure that would be enlightening for all to vicariously see and experience.
Again, what a delight to see this movie. I do hope theres more to be made.
