It's been some 25 years so just about right. A lot of popular movies get remade every 25 years-ish because there is a whole new audience you can sell the same old story to, way cheaper than making up a _new_ story.

because in most movies they don t think more than 10 seconds on some part of the movies, and because nowodays there s only a few reshoot which are done, when thrre s some (often they don t do any) to repare error of the movie when they watch the final cut. but to defend them, it cost a lot of money and sometimes for thing which aren t very important i can understand that they don t care to let some little mistale, or strange things in some movies.
To be fair, coming up with new ideas is kind of hard given the plethora of books, movies and what have you. Though perhaps it's time to explore mythological stories that are from South America or Africa. I haven't seen much of that in Western cinemas

Gaming is still holding strong. It's really trying to break into the gaming industry, but gamers vote with their wallets and are very vocal about it. Companies that try to follow this trend are falling like flies, especially this year where big companies like Ubisoft and Bioware are being taught a harsh lesson. Maybe movies and music can still have some hope if it can be done in gaming. Less of this "We'll spend a lot of money, so we need to make a lot of money. Lets make this unoriginal, trend-following movie that's completely safe and boring so everyone will like it" rubbish. And more high quality content directed towards a specific target audience.

Wasn't Wilhelm Tell supposed to play in Switzerland? Central Switzerland, to be more precise, on and around Lake Lucerne which is a well known tourist location? The landscape doesn't look like this at all.

The first two were comic book action movie gold and the sole reason there was no 3rd is because they somehow were adamant about needing double or so of the budget of Hellboy 2 because they thought they'd make it _that_ more epic or bust and bust they went since no one felt comfortable bankrolling this as the first two movies were profitable, but not enough for taking a risk of twice the budget. Incredibly dumb because Hellboy 1 and 2 already were full of fx and had a decent budget so doing the same and just having a good script and concept would have been a-ok. The first reboot was horrid with a Hellboy that is *NOT RON PEARLMAN* but even aside from this it was focused on having fancy fx but there was no budget for a good script apparently. Some dumb and cliche crap and it featured gratuitous gore for no reason other than just cause, the creature design was cool but the gore ruined the movie even more and made it feel like a a high budget splatter movie desperately trying to find a plot to excuse all the violence. And now the trailer for the 2nd reboot looks just as bad, ignoring virtually everything the audience _and_ critics loved about the Ron Pearlman movies and trying to be a slow burn horror movie like The Conjuring or something, since these have proven to be very profitable. I never read the comics but I imagine comic fans are even more pissed. Especially because _Ron Pearlman still wants to do another Hellboy movie_ At least a couple of years ago. Hellboy could have been something like its own contained cinematic universe or even branching into some other non-Marvel or DC comic adaptations with presumably the quality of the first two Hellboy movies but instead we just got more and more bs. PS: the actor playing Hellboy gets less famous and proven each reboot. Probably because after abandoning the first movies the profit projections got knocked down a peg and after the first reboot tanked they got knocked down some more, paying a big name like Ron Pearlman and now even David Harbour is no longer in the budget.

Coming up with a novel idea for a movie seems to be beyond what Hollywood can do nowadays.
I really think that there really isn’t many types of movie plots left to do.

Of course, any film worth making with a possible original storyline/script the film companies are to scared to take a chance on, so they just keep on repeating or modernising and then add more sequels to them or bigger explosions with plenty more ass, tit & dicks with bullets, fine if you like that but I'm nearly 55 & had my fill of all that

It's impressive that the only film that looks promising - is a video game movie in the form of sonic. But I suppose that's what converting the populace into "mindless consumers" does to the quality of entertainment.
