Those backplates are in the works! A Norbaforce Monolith would be so insanely expensive that I don't think even I can contemplate it, but I am thinking of maybe doing an all-brass one. :O
love the video and your products! I am curious... have you thought about about making an case for the Leopold 980C? Such a big fan, thanks for all your hard work
It wouldn't normally be done in order to achieve a deep black, since that usually isn't an issue with anodizing (since a black dye can simply be introduced). However, it might have other desirable properties such as making the surface look more matte and making a more maintainable surface. Because of the aforementioned reasons, I honestly have never tried. But it would be worthy of investigation. :)
$1000 case and your "custom designed foam" and greasy fingertips impact the finish before the customer even pulls it out? Why not use gloves when packing, a wax that doesnt melt at such low temps and a sealant? Whole thing seems odd when you identify short-comings before the item even ships and describe work-arounds instead of address them. Like what's so special about the coating that its worth dealing with fingerprints?
sam oksner My first thought would be to address the long game. Anyone who purchases a board that requires wax will benefit from some instruction on polishing. Take what you will from this video. I’ll have my glass half full.
"It's a $1,000 keyboard that doesn't come with a keyboard" my girlfriend just stared at my phone screen with confused eyelid blinks....
I keep coming back to this video for that very line, I love it
This should be flagged as NSFW content, for this caused a proper nerdboner.
Norbauer you mad lad, you've done it again; super happy I ordered a monolith.
You the man, Ryan. Thanks for the hard work. This thing is absolutely stunning. :)
Have you tried bacon grease?
Yes.
I love it. I would totally get a Norbaforce monolith case, or at least a heavy backplate to make this closer to a heavy beast.

Hi ryan! I am really happy with the heavy-6!
I just got my royal wrinkle in the mail today, going to decide WHICH fc660c i'll be putting into it.

Hey Kevin! I'm actually working on one right now. :) If you're not on my list, I'll announce there when it's ready. norbauer.com/list
Do you think a ceramic coating would solve those problems?
Cerakote wouldn't abrade during shipment against the EVA foam, but it doesn't look the same.
Oooo yeahhh~ slop it on, spread, & rub that wax in.
i love you dad
Bless you, my child.
Hi Norbauer, i have a heavy 6 maritime edition. What wax do i use for it? Will paraffin wax be good?
@Miksu You should definitely not wax a powder coat finish. :) This video only applies to the Monolith black PVD coated edition.
Would automotive wax do the same thing to the pvd coating and require less mainetance?
This is in fact automotive wax, but just the pure Carnauba kind.
@@RyanNorbauer any wax substitue you would recommend that doesnt melt at the touch of a hand?
@@gavincone5446 This wax doesn't melt at the touch of the hand, the melting point is higher than external surface body temp.
Gorgeous. Also, congratulations on your first ASMR video! Haha, jk
Hey there, would this work also for Anodized Aluminum? Or is it only recommended on PVD parts? Thanks

@@RyanNorbauer Thanks for the response. Sweet keyboard case in the video.
