I liked when he did it, she knew Topanga was Corys gf and she still tried to suduce him. That right there shows you the type of person she is. A lot of people are saying that Riley is compared to Topanga in this scene and Maya to Lauren because they start off with Riley in GMTriangle, just like they start off with Topanga as shown here. Yet if you are only blinded by that fact, then why are you so obviously ignoring that Maya was on the left side just like Topanga in this scene. The writers may be annoyingly frustrating, but they're not dumb. They're throwing us clues from all over the place. Yes, Rucas is apparently the couple that gets together in Ski Lodge, but that doesn't confirm anything endgame wise. When did the writers tell us that Ski Lodge was the season finale? When they said that everything would be made "official" in Ski Lodge, they meant Rilaya. Their friendship will always persevere, and every dedicated fan knows that they would do anything for each other in the end. He allows Maya to end up with Josh, because he wants her to be happy. If Lucas truly cared for both girls the same, he would let them both go or at least long enough for him to make a decision on his own. Both girls need to learn about relationships, whether with Lucas or otherwise. He restricts Riley from exploring relationships with any other people, thinking she needs extra protection from the real world. He seems to claim her as "his", just like Riley has claimed him as "hers" on multiple occasions. Rucas' relationship has a terrible base. Living things (not just people) should be treated with respect and not just something you can call yours. People should be able to make their own decisions. Yes, they did this in Girl meets world. But, Lucas couldn't choose like how Cory did. However, he chooses Riley BECAUSE Maya tells him to. Who does that on Boy meets world? Right, Topanga. She tells Cory to choose Lauren at the ski lodge. What can we infer from this? Topanga is to Cory is what Maya is to Lucas. Reasons why Lucaya should've happened. But it didn't because Girl meets world lasted for only 3 seasons and they were trying to finish the story as quickly as possible whereas Boy meets world had 7 seasons with a lot of time for the characters to grow.

I know both shows are meant to mirror each other in certain ways but doing it continuously throughout the shows makes girl meets world not have its own uniqueness. Like having the same triangle the same situations happening doesn’t feel right yes have characters that are the same like Corey and Riley and maya and Shawn. It frustrated me so much when I was young, even more as a teenager because I kept seeing people make the same mistakes, even as adults. If you’re going to reach the same conclusion as Cory did about Topanga, what does it seem that you have to go through a bunch of crap before making the right choice?

A lot of people are saying that Riley is compared to Topanga in this scene and Maya to Lauren because they start off with Riley in GMTriangle, just like they start off with Topanga as shown here. Yet if you are only blinded by that fact, then why are you so obviously ignoring that Maya was on the left side just like Topanga in this scene. The writers may be annoyingly frustrating, but they're not dumb. They're throwing us clues from all over the place. Yes, Rucas is apparently the couple that gets together in Ski Lodge, but that doesn't confirm anything endgame wise. When did the writers tell us that Ski Lodge was the season finale? When they said that everything would be made "official" in Ski Lodge, they meant Rilaya. Their friendship will always persevere, and every dedicated fan knows that they would do anything for each other in the end. I tried to make this as unbiased a comment as possible (which was really hard). Now proceeds the biased part: As much as I may dislike the Rucas ship sailing for a while, I don't really care. These kids barely know who they are, and they have to figure that out. We all knew that Lucas would have to pick somebody at one point to break the ice. He did, but Rucas is just testing their relationship out right now. NOTHING IS CONFIRMED AS ENDGAME. P.s. Maya tells Lucas to admit his true feelings to Riley just like Topanga gave Cory her blessing to tell Lauren how he truly felt. Disclaimer for this part of the comment: profanity. You fucks out there saying that Riley is the main character so she will get Lucas in the end: are you fucking stupid? Riley is not the only main character. Maya has starred in every single episode Riley has been in. Why does Riley's happiness suddenly overpower Maya's just because she's the main character? All of the characters deserve their own form of happiness. Saying that the show revolves around Riley just makes you sound like a fuckface. Riley and Maya are codependent. As much as I wish they could latch themselves off of each other, they are, as of now, codependent, meaning they NEED each other. This show isn't called "Riley Meets World". It's GMW, meaning either girl or basically any girl (Smackle included). Riley's love interest right now is Lucas. They'll both soon come to the realization that they're too alike. This time will allow Maya to come to terms with how much she actually likes Lucas and vice versa. Plus, Lucas only seems to pay real interest to his relationship with Riley whenever some other guy pays her attention. That is definitely not a healthy relationship. He allows Maya to end up with Josh, because he wants her to be happy. If Lucas truly cared for both girls the same, he would let them both go or at least long enough for him to make a decision on his own. Both girls need to learn about relationships, whether with Lucas or otherwise. He restricts Riley from exploring relationships with any other people, thinking she needs extra protection from the real world. He seems to claim her as "his", just like Riley has claimed him as "hers" on multiple occasions. Rucas' relationship has a terrible base. Living things (not just people) should be treated with respect and not just something you can call yours. People should be able to make their own decisions. In Upstate, I wish that Maya would've allowed herself to be selfish just for once. But then again, now Rucas can understand how terrible they are together.

Yes, they did this in Girl meets world. But, Lucas couldn't choose like how Cory did. However, he chooses Riley BECAUSE Maya tells him to. Who does that on Boy meets world? Right, Topanga. She tells Cory to choose Lauren at the ski lodge. What can we infer from this? Topanga is to Cory is what Maya is to Lucas. Reasons why Lucaya should've happened. But it didn't because Girl meets world lasted for only 3 seasons and they were trying to finish the story as quickly as possible whereas Boy meets world had 7 seasons with a lot of time for the characters to grow.

Cory was definitely wrong for how he handled the Lauren situation (from beginning to end). However, in this episode, Topanga was wrong as well. I'm sorry, but getting pissed off at someone for doing exactly what you told them to do is bullshit IMO (regardless of whether you're "testing" them or not). If anything, it makes her dishonest (or not as honest as Cory made her out to be)
No she did right in some cases you have to hold your tongue to see people's true reactions and this is one of those cases..she wanted Corey to choose her without her saying choose me if she was honest and told Corey don't go she knew he would listen out of pure loyalty not love always wondering in her mind was she the real one and he probably would've wondered too .. She loved him so much she risked loosing him so he could be happy Corey didn't consider topangas emotions in this moment if the situation was flipped Corey wouldn't have forgiven topanga either and we would understand that because we understand men have this pride thing to protect he would feel inadequate afterwards but topanga as a woman has a right to some pride too she made the right choice.

I know both shows are meant to mirror each other in certain ways but doing it continuously throughout the shows makes girl meets world not have its own uniqueness. Like having the same triangle the same situations happening doesn’t feel right yes have characters that are the same like Corey and Riley and maya and Shawn. But every time I see girl meets world and see the same situations happening it feels reused.
Not only that,it was too soon to be doing that on GMW..On BMW they had been through way more by this point
I really wish this wasn't recreated in gmw because this with a new couple and 13 yr olds does not work!
