Yes thank you for explaining! A lot of other tutorials didn’t have the same knobs as I do and although it certainly shouldn’t be so hard to understand, I was perplexed.
Your lid was the same as mine. Whew!

I have used mine 4 times since Xmas based on YT videos alone without opening the manual. Good video. The biggest difference is the steam release valve is safer to use and that is is mostly about it.

Hi, I received an instant pot duo Nova for my birthday I find the manual doesn’t explain the buttons very well. I’m not understanding the pressure level, and pressure cooking. How to use the slow cooking feature versus the pressure cooking. Many of the videos are for other models and don’t cover the features of the Duo Nova.

According to the "getting started guide" from Instant Pot, it says the natural release method "must be used when cooking food such as soups, stews ... as well as food that expands, such as beans and grains." So I'm guessing you can press the quick release if you are confident the food you are cooking does not fit into these categories AND you are in a rush

However, your approach to the water test seems to differ from the official instructions for the Duo Nova model (which say to select the "steam" function and let the new pot cook for 10min). Can you please help us understand why? Thank you

I was referencing this "Duo Nova Getting Started" video from the official Instant Pot channel (ua-cam.com/video/TKkIY-f65_Q/v-deo.html), but when I reread the manual just now the instructions were as you demonstrated.
