    Thank you so much for your video. I love the way you break everything down and explain it all.

    This was great, thanks for sharing. I know I want to use sss, but can’t get myself to purchase it because of the long video lectures. Just subscribed. I also have a channel mainly about homeschooling and happy to be able to connect here 😊

      For us, I am using SSS to "outsource" writing, so breaking down the video lessons into 3ish 20 min sections isn't a deal breaker. If you are wanting to use IEW, they have lots of other programs that follow the same S&S methods (theme-based writing and the "teacher" course). I have a breakdown of their offerings here: www.homespunchildhood.com/blog/iew-a-guide

    Saved this to watch later. Finally circled back to and I’m so thankful for it. My kids are ready to move on and this video has been helpful. Are you also using Fix It grammar ?

      We are using Fix it Grammar! I wasn't initially, for a variety of reasons, but we are now and I really like it.

    Would you recommend IEW people and places before doing this?
    My daughter is going into third and we’ve never done a writing program.

      Hey, if she has not done a writing program before, I would recommend one of the IEW theme-based programs. Not necessarily People and Places, though. I have a breakdown of their theme-based writing programs here: www.homespunchildhood.com/blog/iew-a-guide

    Thanks Sarah! I’ve heard that the instruction videos in this programme get longer and are 2 hour long halfway the course. Would it not be a problem for kids of the targeted age group to sit through something that long?

    • @homespun.childhood
      @homespun.childhood  Рік тому

      The video length for the lessons is around an hour (I think the longest is 1 hr 15), but they are broken up into 2 parts and not intended to be watched in one day. Each "lesson" is roughly a week if you follow their main schedule. They also have a 30-week pacing guide where some lessons are stretched over 2 weeks. Our plan is to initially start with the 30-week pacing, where the video lessons are divided into 2 parts for 2 days. But, if it's too long or the pacing isn't working, we will just slow it down and break the videos up more. The videos include jokes/storytelling by Pudewa and are long because kids are working during the lessons.

      @@homespun.childhood many thanks! That clears up my doubts as I really like the programme!
