I watched the video where your husband quit his job. Reminded me of when I left the RAF. I handed back kit and exchanged my I'D for a scrap of paper got in my car and drove off base. 10 minutes later I pulled into a lay by and bawled like a baby! I felt lost and alone! Even though I was getting married and had a plan! 20 years and 4 kids later she divorced me! I had to start again. But change can be good. I now live off grid on a 50x6 foot canal narrowboat. I am working on what I call "Boatsteading". I grow veggies in containers on my boat roof. I will be getting a second boat or similar to expand what I do. You now have the chance to live your dream. The best part I think is the journey to it. You WILL do it! Trust each other and have faith! It will all work out! I look forward to sharing your journey with you. Be safe in these crazy times!
@@akiems7394 Thank you. I have come out of the Pandemic in a better place than I went in. New directions, new relationship and actively looking to the future rather than simply surviving. We keep on keeping on!

I smile because there are so many wonderful experiences waiting for you, and God will be there as your Provider every step of the way!
My dad moved us from Los Angeles in 1964/65 to north Idaho (Silver Valley)...I grew up in the mountains between Wallace and Murray ..closest neighbor 5 miles away and school was 10 miles over two mountains...we lived in an older stage coach stop house which my dad fixed up and added on. Great memories of living and playing in the forest and I the River...the north fork of the CdA was my bathtub in the summers...and hiking and exploring. My dad made the right choice. My family still lives in the Valley and today I live a mile from the Gulf of Mexico in FL and love it. You made my heart sink...reminded me of when we moved 5 years ago, but we only moved 5 miles away! It's the "Good-bye" to the house that made me the saddest! It will feel like home in a couple of days....because Home is where the Heart is!
I know that I don't say it enough to you two here, but I want to thank you for letting me be a part of your life via UA-cam. The first day is usually the busiest and most emotional day.
@@GoodSimpleLiving Jeremy, much respect for you brother taking the steps you did to walk away from your LE career and take a leap of faith for your family. We recently moved out into the Country (15 acres for us, mostly Maple). It's a move we should have made long ago; but we are finally here now! Congratulations on making that decision. From the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
I understand the bittersweet decision of leaving the comfortable home and homestead where you worked hard to make it yours. After twenty tears of hard work we too, had to leave our 5-acre homestead that we built through blood, sweat and tears. My husband was diagnosed with early cognitive decline and at age 73 he could no longer do the physical work required and my health issues prevented me from taking on his work as well as my own.

Still got me crying about your fur baby! ! Lightening struck our home so we are living in a brand new city of Tennessee! We had our house rebuilt and sold it! Every time I go by my street I cry! 😭
For me , from here on out your videos become more exciting as you build the house and add gardens and animals . this was the most beautiful video you did with all the kids together .

As soon as i seen you Melissa iwas crying. I remember the feeling. And just so happens today April 14 is the day i got to ky 34 years ago, so i did some crying for the young me with a 2 month old baby following my man... stay safe, take your time at things there is always tomorrow. GOD bless you all...
This is so strange. My heart is doing tumbles right now. But it is excitement, for the opportunities that are ahead of you guys. I'm kind of jealous. Everything that you have... You have earned. You deserve this journey into excitement, joy, hard work, joy, adventure, joy, peace, joy, and joy, that God has ahead for you. Go bless you. God cause His face to shine upon you. God give you provision way beyond your imagination!
I remember when I first moved into my cabin with my cat and 4 year old daughter. And the first thing I had to do was setup the tv. So my daughter can watch her frozen dvds. Every night I crash out on the couch while my daughter watches cartoons and Nickelodeon. Oh well a single dad who will do anything to make his daughter happy
You are a great man for being there for your daughter. I've had to watch my daughter grow up with a dad who frequently rejected and refused to spend time with her through the years. Daddies are special and SO important for kids. Especially daughter's because that's who shows them about men. Girls generally look for men who remind them of their dad. God bless you for taking that very important job seriously.
Teary eyed right beside you!!!😭😭😭 Man, I wasnt expecting that water works. Dang, your new beginning will be so great, but doesn't mean it's not going to hurt just a little!
One chapter ended and yeah it's bittersweet and it stings and all the memories but there's one good thing, you have all your UA-cam videos to look back on!!! You've got a fresh new Clean Canvas!!!!!!!, everything that you did do to the other house you can do this house. That goes along with the rabbits the Sheep ,chickens Everything!!!!!! You now have the endless Backyard!!!!! Sky's the Limit!!!!! P.S. When that Little Boy said he was Excited!!!! That Was Priceless!!!!!! God Bless!!!!!

DAY 1 of the living your dream. This isn't a race so enjoy everything your doing. Gosh you really did it your kids and you will always remember this day. Have fun and smiles from us. wish i could hit thumbs up button hundred times.
It's very sad to be leaving your home with all the memories that you made there, but I am glad to see you have a really huge landscape in your new location for your animals. Glad the kids loved it too!
We just did the same thing. Gave up a beautiful house with a pool, sport court and garden to move to a 4 acre homestead in North Idaho. We feel like it’s the right move too
It's a big deal to leave the house you've raised your family in so far. We did this (moved out of state to a remote area of the ozarks) 5 years ago and for the first couple weeks, I felt like I was on vacation and it took a while to feel home but now I couldn't imagine any other life or being anywhere else. It was the best move we could've made. Congrats to you, you are following your dream and each step is big and important. Can't wait to see more videos about the property and how you're making it work.
Ok , is it selfish to want a video everyday now that you are there??? HaHaHa!.. Can you tell how many of us are excited to watch this unfold? How many of us are pulling for you, sending love, encouragement, lots of prayer and little tips? This is awesome and yes, I cried a wee bit too! The sheep were already chill in their new home...good sign. Blessings on the DAILY!

Remember home is where the heart is guys. Glad you arrived safe. That pole barn is amazing ,just chill for a few days doing the necessary jobs, visit the neighbours . Have they got children also? Big hugs. Pam & Paul
Memories are precious. Accomplishments are priceless. Failures are invaluable. Without that home there's no way to know what your lives would look like. The home served its purpose. Your kids learned so many lessons there. They're stronger than ever before in their own minds. You as a couple are stronger than ever with each other. That home is an amazing place ready to help another family be stronger than ever. Your new home welcomes you with open arms and so many more memories to be made and failures to overcome. Your family is blessed and your willingness to accept those blessings is truly amazing. Live your lives to their true potential and love every minute like I know you will. Share your experiences with every soul you touch like you already do. Thank you. I can't say how much appreciation I have for your resilience.
The part of the video that was my favorite was when you got to your land and your whole family was walking up the lane TO YOUR FUTURE! OMG I cried like a baby. So ecstatic for you all that you made it safely there. The barn in so big that even in the winter the kids can ride their bikes in that place! CONGRATULATIONS! You did it!!!!! God Bless You and keep you safe in his arms on this beautiful life you are traveling. 🐑🐇🐓🐤😾🐶👨👨👦👦👨🏻🤝👨🏻🙏
I know it is sad to leave your old home, but you should congratulate yourself on maintaining such a great place for the new owners. Lots of work to do to set up your dream home now, but you can do it! Such a beautiful family - all the best to you!
I think your better off moving even though you will miss your home. You've made way for another family to start a new. Congratulations Celebrate You've got this!!❤
It is nice to see you got to you new home, as you close one door in your life you open another. Tomorrow we get Our open trench inspection for our septic, and power hooked up next week. Like yourselves it has been a long road (3 years for us) and it we still have tons to do. It is nice that you are all there together. My wife and I still have months before she moves to our property. So I know there will be 1001 things for you guys to do, just remember the journey to building you homestead will be a long one, set a nice pace, do one thing a day to move forward, and yes remember to stop and enjoy the new place you call home. You have started a better live for you and your family. God Bless - Jeff
Put butter on the top of the cats paws! I have no idea why it works, but it totally does. It lets them know they're home. Done it many many times, always works
It took me 18 months living in my travel trailer before i moved into my house i built. Well worth it! Been here 6yrs now and love life. Yes I've watched the rabbit video you make. Good stuff!!!!😊
You and your family will build so many wonderful memories at your new place. You are giving your children an opportunity to build memories that most will only dream of. Have fun. God Bless
Y'all must have been so full of hope but petrified at the same time. Y'all did it!! Your family and your land are today thriving in a different way then you were thriving back in Washington in a better way, in a bigger way. You are now at your forever home. I can't wait to see you bring you garden back to where it once was. I'm hoping it happens this coming spring now that the major building projects are coming to an end soon. Sending my love from Georgia.
Your ending and beginning is touching. It encourages my husband and I that our ending and beginning towards our goal will become. Thank you for the inspiring video.
I never saw this video and just watched it for the first time. It was so emotional. It is absolutely amazing how much you have gotten done it's such a short amount of time. You both are incredible.
Such an emotional roller coaster, first I cried when you left, then happy when you arrived! Oh wow the barn is amazing, I didn’t realize how big it was until I saw y’all standing in it. 😲👍 Hahaha always have duct tape 😂 Will you be moving the trailer into the barn right away?
You guys had me tearing up! Praying the adjustment isn't too harsh in the beginning. Once the balls get rolling, you'll find your groove and peace. I can't wait to watch you build your dream!
Wow so emotional and what a strange feeling! Sux to move, but you guys are taking a big step. Can't wait to see your new adventures, stay safe, warm and enjoy the wild!
Bittersweet adventure...you had me teary when you left your Washington HOME...for that is what it was for so many years, blood sweat and tears building it up. Lot's of great memories. Now you begin again! It WILL feel like home...my guess is sooner than you think. Blessings to you all, glad you made it safely, looking forward to all you projects! ~ Karla in MN
I know how it feels we sold our home to become homesteaders too and the last night in our empty home was so emotional- I just wished that the day was longer and I walked around every room as if we had just moved in and was trying to take it all in and remembering all the memories- but where we are now I am grateful and love our new home and I pray the best for you and your family- enjoying your videos

I could wake up to the view of those mountains every day. Beautiful!
Congratulations Celebrate You've got this!!❤
Omg I'm not crying, no my face is just leaking. Your videos have been doing that to me lately. Prayers for you all as always. Big hugs💜💜💜

After watching the video of the ride to the new homestead, it will be one heck of a drive when the snow starts to fall.

I'm so happy for you, you couldn't have timed this any better. I know that you worked really hard to accomplish your plan. Well done and best wishes.
Learnt something new today, how to open a bottle of wine without a wine screw 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂. May God bless your new home, as you build it. 😋
