its a nice car. but this mini was no way near stock..
As a previous JCW owner they are fantastic drivers cars BUT they are unreliable... if your OK throwing alot of money at it because of weak design they are a brilliant when driven hard. Very capable little car. That 1 was definitely not standard.

The first gen motor First turbo engine mini Cooper was named a prince n14 engine.
Was 2008-2012 second refresh which was basically a whole new redesigned engine was the n18 came in the 2013-2014 jcw cars and extremely reliable. They do cost more because they are relatively desirable because of it's extra reliability. About to pass 65k in my n18 2013 mini Cooper r55 clubman jcw not one single issue so far. Also own a built r53 05
@@CharlieboySLONDON True lots of things can go wrong but i did read in forums that from 2012 the cars became much much more reliable

Misha I have seen a lot of your videos but this one is by far my favourite, humble car not overly modified and you're driving it hard locked in a battle with another similar car.

Volkswagen make phenomenal special edition cars, they are absolute firecrackers! Love the Aston brakes, want to do a big break kit on my edition 40 but it’s very costly… Great video as always Misha
You can put the Cupra ones, they aren't that expensive
Vw ag has a great parts bin. It's all in the choice and assembly.

@@JakeyWils Cupra brakes are 4piston, basically the same as the first generation TTRS calipers which I have. I am currently putting those on my A3 8P, which is basically a golf 5/6 platform. They are a straight fit, you just need different wheels to fit (18inch+ with the right offset)
Macan 2.0 4-pot calipers are PnP fit for MQB platform
Just awesome to see the little race between those two very similiar cars, especially how the mini went trough the bends.

There are little rubber grommets inside the door that cause the squeak, I trimmed mine down and it went away for awhile but the noise just comes back 😪

As a fellow Mini owner, that Mini is definitely not stock lol.. I’d love to see Misha drive that.
Probably a stage 1 car 250ish hp as its a lot lighter then the golf GTI in this gen
@@Modmaann Most likely stage 2 or above. Standard intercooler would suffer from heatsoak. STage 1 also only gets you to around 230

'Quick hands Misha' - some very quick corrections required to keep it on-line, esp in the early part of the lap! So controlled and considerate - always checking the mirror to check for faster cars. The Mini was quick, and no-way was he/she going to move over!

Crisp shifting, engine pulls only ting to focus on is keeping the engine and brakes cooled enough

The Aston calipers is the same as the RS3 4pot brembos fitted to your Apex Cupra. Just different OE

:( no speedo . Lately its quite often missing, usually cause it gets unstuck :) . Speedo is one of the most interesting things to observe and compare about different car's corner speeds in specific sections or on straights.
i like the dog fighting with mini gentlemanly but the car made me nervous at braking. overall that was good lap. Thank You
Typical mistake: Fitting big front brakes and forgot to upgrade the rear to Golf R brakes.

What is the critical oil temperature? I haven’t seen manufacturers placed this kind of info. When I drive my golf 6 even with 1.4 TSi 180 km/h on autobahn for a while, the temperature raises up to 120C.
140 oil temp is huge. Oil burns at around 150. Hope he didn't wait at all to change his oil, or he can get new bearings

For anyone curious, 130 Degree eot is what tiguan's of that era achieve when trying to pass a lorry. I wish i was kidding, but fixing those engines bought me my house soooooo

Is there an extra oil radiator mounted by factory in this GTI gen? Didn't have GTI before, I'm curious. Oil reached 140 C. as stated in the video.
I don’t think there is, since video I have added an external oil cooler bringing temps down to a reasonable 110 hot.

Михаил, приветствую, объясни этому мальчику из Англии, что когда спереди меняешь тормоза то блок АБС дует сколько заложено с завода. И в итоге спереди тормоза больше и он перетормаживает. Баланса тормозов нет. Нужно добавить сзади 310 мм и перепрошить блок тормозов на блок от Audi s3 8p. Там как раз такие. 345 Brembo 4pot + 310 от R или пусть вернет сток. Будет лучше. А то он так и будеть ловить машину при каждом торможении 😊

The only thing that Mini needs to help it stay out front is a single person in it instead of driver and passenger.
