The haunting Griffith panel? When has Miura ever done any sort of evil looking face for Griffith? He always looks either stone cold stoic or cheerful, and that's what makes him even more hateable. It shows his apathy for those around him, and his false facade of a saviour. Him giving an evil grin is not something Miura would have done.

I mean, sure It was when he was still human but you gotta remember that Griffith isn't COMPLETELY lacking emotions, just lacks empathy altogether. As a Godhand, he can still express emotions, but it's not defined how much he can feel. Though I can see him expressing some darker emotions. You can't just dismiss it as cartoony evilness. This chapter was so damn good. Not much happened, but seeing Casca in action, the false paradise she finds herself trapped in, seeing Griffith's menacing presence haunting every inch of Falconia, the heartwrenching moments of distant romance, not to mention the art looks so much better and more like the old Berserk. If that was the only reason he would've kidnapped her far earlier. He waited until it was the right moment for him to infiltrate the island and destroy it and then just took her. It may be as a result of the child, but it may also be a result of spite and wanting more and more since he was never going to allow them to be happy together in "his world", it's the same negative feelings that resulted in what happened in the Eclipse.

And I think willpower is what keeps guts from falling into darkness. And I never thought of casca being distant from guts as her hating him but rather that just looking at guts reminded her of every horrific moment of eclipse. Because technically for her, almost no time has passed. But I think that her seeing the vision of potentially losing guts forever might be the catalyst for her to overcome her trauma and in a poetic sense, we might see casca being the one to save guts from his despair this time instead of vice versa. It will also be great to avoid her character becoming a damsel in distress when she used to be such a formidable warrior.

I think that Griffith wants Guts back as a puppet. He is trying to make him suffer in order to force him to activate the Behelit and become an Apostle. As an Apostle, Guts would be forced to obey Griffith orders. This could be an explanation for Zodd behaviour. He is not happy of Griffith plan of introducing Guts into his team again, because he wants to fight him. And this would explain also why Casca wants to rejoin Guts (to avoid his downfall).

Griffith is like Odin and Guts is like Fenrir and if your clued into Norse mythology Odin knew that his death was coming as the hands of fenrir and in his desperate attempts to avert his death he ended up bringing bout ragnarok and ensured that Fenrir would kill him.

it could be, that great artists, have their own style, and most dont enjoy copying other artists, so the issue could have been with taking over the project, since no one knew 100% how the story ends, only major plot threads, and thus trying to story board them, and release something to gauge the fanbase feedback, might have cut corners on the style, and its only after months, that they got the style down packed and see how the story plays out over chapters instead of just writing to meet a deadline.
there are artists on youtube who draw X manga character in Y style, but if you ask those artists, would they perfer getting famous with their own style/characters, they would say yes, cause copying someone else while great to learn/practice, its not your own work, think of fan fiction, if said fans use it to practice their skills its useful to learn how to write characters, and fan fiction, is easier, cause you have premade characters, their personality, and world building exists, so its an easy choice to practice, you dont have to think of a major story/lore/etc, you need to take your idea and how it can be made to fit into said existing work. same with artists, drawing is a skill, using other ppl's art to practice and recreate it, and have it look like said style is a talent, but its not an easy one, so said characters have reference material that exists, recreating it, is building said skill cause said characters have said poses that are drawn, so its easy to compare said drawing with the original and see how close it comes, but thats practice its honing said craft, when it comes to creating a unique work, it feels more satisfiying to bring your own ideas to life.

Its good that Casca can now emote and voice her own experiences considering it was HER that was raped by Griffith. She's not a case of fridging. Her trauma shouldn't be a prop to exist as motivation for guts alone. I very much hope to see her play a central role in the climax of this epic and the downfall of Griffith.
I think for me the overall theme of Miura's work here is that there is healing after trauma. That life is possible and we must save each other. And that's why I think Griffith is the ultimate evil in an antagonist. He directly poisons and embodies that which brings guts and casca together literally and symbolically as their child.

      @rjofusetsudzin8011 Рік тому +19

I think it is different. You can see how she is extremely depressed and has dead eyes when she is taken care off. It is nothing like Elaine especially when she tries to escape and attack soldiers she is much emotional than potato Casca ever was.
It is because she already knows she realizes what happened and what Griffith became. And thats what makes it such tragic and sad because this Casca now technically suffers more than Potato Casca ever did, because she is fully aware what Femto did to her. Her spacing out is probably caused by some Griffith spell he put on her hence why she goes to the sleep every time when she tries to escape. But since Griffith is heavily influenced by the Moon Boy now he incapable of breaking Cascas mind again.
Truly tragic. The way how now Casca suffers because of everything that happened almost makes one wish she was in Potato mode again because ignorance in bliss ALMOST. Trully puts bittersweetness into her regaining sanity.
Also following on this chapter really made starting to believe those theories that Cascu could be the one who will murder Griffith. She looks in some of those panels reallly pissed off.

@@rjofusetsudzin8011 facts, we also saw casca just a few chapters ago, acting like herself, she even asked to spar against the elf king, and the elf king made mud dolls, and everyone was impressed with her skill. the only time casca had a mental break was seeing guts, cause he was there for all the low points. he was there at the eclipse, he was there when she was elaine. her feelings for him, remind her of everything, and she wasnt able at that moment to accept all of it. if griffith never reappeared, she would have struggled with the breaks, but eventually been able to look at guts and not break. that was her struggle. now shes hallow, she has nothing, as elaine, the core of her personality, was caring, and free, she wasnt violent, she lacked worldly understanding, like a child. she would run and explore, and flee when she felt scared, she couldnt process the events and understand but she existed as person mostly how a child would act.
this casca, doesnt speak, she doesnt seem to act for herself, its not until shes in the bath that a memory resurfaces and she becomes casca again, able to fight, and has her goals, to get back to guts. while elaine was herself trying to protect her mental state from breaking down, this casca, has no state, its like someone whose drugged up, hazy and etc, just going through life.
this casca is worst casca, cause atleast with elaine, others saw her as someone whose broken, and needs help to take care of her, this casca, how would she react to guts? to anyone? after how many attempts would the original casca, end up swallowed by losing her memories, or would she realize that shes held prisoner, and have to act the part...all we know, is that something is keeping casca in this state, but is it temporary? permanent?
and what will griffith do, once casca loses all her memories? cause elaine was casca being mentally broken that her memories are repressed, we dont know if they are repressed, or being erased. will it end up that griffith, not only NTR'd casca physically, but now will do it mentally, that if guts is too late, casca will be by griffiths side, instead of by guts?

Idk how to explain it well, but it seems to me to be intentional, as a sign of respect to Miura. I've been saying for years that the little girl that can read minds is gonna play a big part in Griffith's downfall. Specifically, by exposing the truth about him to the wider public. And to me this is the perfect setup for that. Casca having all those flashbacks, just radiating out those images through all of Falconia, I'm telling you, that girl is gonna find out, it's bound to happen.

They should flesh out the chapters sticking with what miura wanted is the way to go but you also have to add things to his points to get it all to blend well together

Berserk is a dark fantasy manga series created by Kentaro Miura that has been serialized since 1989. The story is set in a medieval-inspired world and follows the adventures of Guts, a skilled warrior with a tragic past, as he seeks revenge against his former friend and mentor, Griffith. The series is known for its graphic violence, complex characters, and deep lore. In this essay, we will explore the Berserk lore in detail.

The main character of Berserk is Guts, a skilled warrior who was born from the corpse of his mother after she was hanged from a tree. Guts was raised by mercenaries and learned how to fight at a young age. He eventually became a member of the Band of the Hawk, a group of mercenaries led by Griffith. However, after Griffith sacrifices his comrades to become a demonic entity known as Femto, Guts leaves the group and sets out on a quest for revenge.
The story of Berserk is divided into several arcs, each of which explores different aspects of the series' lore. The first arc, the Golden Age arc, focuses on Guts' time with the Band of the Hawk and the events that led up to the Eclipse, where Griffith sacrifices his comrades to become a demon. The arc also introduces several important characters, including Casca, Guts' love interest, and Judeau, a member of the Band of the Hawk.
The second arc, the Conviction arc, takes place after the Eclipse and follows Guts as he travels through a haunted forest and battles against a group of evil spirits. The arc also introduces several new characters, including Farnese, a noblewoman who becomes obsessed with hunting down Guts, and Serpico, her loyal servant.
The third arc, the Millennium Falcon arc, sees Guts team up with a group of new allies, including Schierke, a young witch, and Isidro, a young thief. The arc also introduces several new villains, including the God Hand, a group of demonic entities that rule over the world of Berserk.
The lore of Berserk is complex and multifaceted, with several different mythologies and belief systems at play. The series draws heavily from medieval European history and mythology, as well as Japanese folklore and religion. The world of Berserk is also heavily influenced by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, with several characters and creatures inspired by his stories.
One of the key themes of Berserk is the struggle between fate and free will. The series explores how the actions of the characters are influenced by their past and their destiny, and how they must fight against the forces of fate in order to create their own future. The series also explores the nature of power and how it can corrupt even the most noble of characters.
In conclusion, Berserk is a complex and fascinating series with a rich and detailed lore. The world of Berserk is a dark and violent place, filled with supernatural creatures and complex characters. The series explores several themes, including fate, free will, and the corrupting influence of

I feel like this isn't the first time casca tried to run away. The number of guards abd how quickly they came is weird, the sedation and memory erasing feels like a kind of spell she is put on that she then breaks, has tk get captured and then re spelled. The way they speak of how shes back in the cage as well. It all makes me think she keeps breaking out.

So far I haven't complained about the dialogue situation because I understand that the crew wants to interfere as little as possible with Miura's work, and I can respect that. However, after the conclusion of the Elf Island Chapter, how long is the series gonna run for? can we have 50+ or 100+ chapters with this lacking amount of dialogue?
I personally would be okay with the crew taking the series into their own direction, filling the gaps the way they see fit, yes it would basically be sort of a "fanfiction", but to be honest it already is, even if you dont make new dialogue you are already tampering with the story in terms of art style and how you use visuals to tell the story, which no matter how close you know an artist, you can't replicate that.

I agree with the lack of dialogue. I don’t mind if they fill the gaps since they already know how the story will end.
