Its a funny thing....way back when I used to watch Mike Tyson despatch an opponent in the first few rounds I never thought years later I would be watching every video available about him (thankyou you tube) all his fights, documentaries, life stories and interviews-anything I can get hold of-because he is without a doubt one of the most interesting, soulful, genuine, insightful and entertaining people around. What a GREAT interview 10/10 ✌
mike's legacy will never die. mike is such a fascinating person and the courage to turn his life around and become a family man and put God first in his life is the essence of a true champion of life and not just boxing.
This was brilliant. It's the only interview I can relate to as a massive Tyson fan, I feel like it's me sitting there asking questions I always wanted to ask him. Really appreciate this.
THIS GUY IS SO INTRIGUING, ALWAYS GREAT TO HEAR HIM SPEAK. MIKE HAS TO BE THE REALEST, MOST TRANSPARENT CELEBRITY OF ALL TIME! DOPE ASS INTERVIEW BUT DAMN, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO WORK HARD TO KEEP THEM INTERESTING AFTER THIS ONE, LOL.
Great interview - so many great stories. So touching how after all these years Mike still gets choked up when talking about his late great coach Cus D'Amato. Thanks.
My personal favorite, Iron Mike. Real proud of him and happy that he's happy. Real knowledgable on the history of boxing. Love hearing him speak on the topic.
Mike Tyson has really grown mentally and spiritually...big upz brother...ill be the next heavyweight champ and plan on taking the title by the time im 24...Lloyd Marshall
Most this is actually an amazing interview props to you Rosenberg, to be able to reach a spot deep in that man's heart like that is uncanny. Only a few people can do that keep it up!
This is the best interview I have every watch tyson been interviewed. Been a fanatic of mikes for his whole career and its great to see him so happy now well done mike
You have no idea how blessed your are to interview one of the most intriguing human being ever MiKE Tyson that man is a true inspiration to me & many more across the world…. PiKy Friday November 8th 2013 @ 6:08pm
Damato reached his CORE.That was the key and after the Berbick win, tyson declined mentally and the physical followed it.Once he took 9 months off in 89,he was definetely finished at 23.
very real, sincere interview...one of the best I have seen on this platform. Learnt a lot about Mike Tyson and Peter Rosenberg, and that's is why it was a great interview.
Wish this guy would interview Mike again. Possibly the best Tyson interview Ive seen. Mikes always at his best when he's at ease and trusts the whoevers interiewing him.
tyson seems like a genuine guy. Liked him as a kid when I was dreaming of being as tough as he was when I grew up and now I respect him for becoming the man he is today. 24 years after first seeing him on pay-per-view I still look up to this guy, just for different reasons.
Great interview, very easy to see the admiration you have for him. I also watch all these UA-cam vids almost every night before sleeping. Tyson is world wide not just America, as I'm from down under "Australia"
What's the title of the documentary you did on Mike, bro? This interview is awesome and how comfortable Mike was having this interview is so delightful to watch too.
Excellent interview! You're asking all those questions I always wanted to ask him. The mainstream media nitwits who could care less about the art of boxing or Mike's underlying psychology (which is quite complex and FASCINATING to a fight fan) and it would never even occur to them to ask such questions. Great job on a brilliant interview.
Awesome interview! Those were really great questions. ..those were questions I always wanted to know. ..the only question I wanted to know was the canibus/LL beef. I know he was mentioned by LL in the diss record. .wanted to know his thoughts and how he reacted and if he took it personally. ..great interview!
In his prime unbeatable! He still wanted a piece of Holyfield! Buster fight he knocked Buster out. I always say this and people be like wtf ur wrong. Screwed like Dempsey in the long count! Dempsey really not screwed like Tyson was though. Dempsey forgot to go to neutral corner. EXCELLENT INTERVIEW! So glad he made it through his dark years.
Great interview. Wish there were more questions on the Holyfield fight, I agree that out of five fights Holyfield wins five. Love many Tyson fans we wish that he would have lived the fight life like Holyfield and the lived and trained and looked after himself, I believe if he did this he could have gone through his career unbeaten.
I love Tyson, I completely understand him, him not having any real parents in his life except cus and that Italian women really still shows today. He is very intelligent which reflects of cus but he never got the love from cus that he wanted. He only knew cus for 5 years and he still seems like a big kid which I can't fault him. God bless Tyson he could have been the best ever with Cus in his life or if he had a really good mother or father.
i dont know why people always portray him as dumb.. clearly this dude is very intelligent, informed and interesting to watch.. and articulate even with his speech impediment and all..(which obviously is no fault of his).. people should just give him a break!
***** true but i think some interviewers deliberately provoke him or ask silly/rude questions just to see how far they can get a 'bad' reaction from him. They are aware it makes "good" tv or an interview for the rest of us watching if you know what i mean. Ive seen this happen many times. Manipulation at its best!
Only dumb people see him as dumb, your perception always bends to see similaritys as yourself and they like to make themselves feel better i have always seen him like you say and known he has a hint of genius, there is many different forms of intelligence
As far as boxing, Holyfield and Lewis may have got the better of Mike, albeit a washed up Mike, but as far as being a human being, Mike surpasses them both on so many levels.
I know right! he came to australia and i got to ask mike a question, so i asked how he felt about kevin rooney. He just said that he loved kevin rooney and that he was the type of guy that would get in your chest and take no BS. i wasn't allowed a follow up question! i want to know more details about the split.
The pic up at 8:30 always reminds me of this pic from greek mythology - www.theoi.com/Georgikos/KentaurosKheiron.html Chiron - Zeus's half brother. First Centaur, taught Jason of Argonauts, Hercules, and other great warriors, along with the first doctor. His name's translation is literally "Skilled with Hands". Achilles - His grandson, 'n most of you know his story.
This is one of the greatest Mike Tyson interviews of all time.
Probably the most likeable person in sports ever for so many different reasons. Just fascinating.
Mike was a great boxer...Now he's a fabulous man. A real man!
Mike is a national treasure.
I love how they brought up Donnie Long!! I remember alot of Tyson's first fights.... he was wrecker in those days!! Great interview!!
Great interview - so many great stories. So touching how after all these years Mike still gets choked up when talking about his late great coach Cus D'Amato. Thanks.
+L Yu Exactly my thoughts too
My personal favorite, Iron Mike. Real proud of him and happy that he's happy. Real knowledgable on the history of boxing. Love hearing him speak on the topic.
I love how he talks to the camera men too as if they are all involved. The guy is so real and honest.
AWESOME interview, big up Rosenberg, well-prepared, knowledgeable, empathetic, honest, just great all around.
Beautiful to see Mike this way, happy for him
