In Hall and Modulated mode, EHX Oceans 11's reverberation depth is lacking. In these effects, I preferred the Neunaber Immerse. However, in Shimmer, mode, the EHX seems to have a better pitch shifter range and a very nice swell combined with tail modulation.Plate mode and Spring is very cool. In the other modes both make excellent reverberations of the same quality.
The Neunaber stuff always sounds like my HOF, the dry signal gets smothered too much. At least EHX let the dry stand apart from the effect more. Is it a headroom issue?
If the MKII had reverse, I would be sold. What a gorgeous sounding pedal. The EHX sounds decent but overall just has a bit less character, and almost all the settings were useless with the tone dialed down. The only thing it seems to do better is spring. I did notice a stark difference between the trails on shimmer mode. Not sure which of those I like better.
The Neunaber is (slightly) better in every way for me. The Ocean sounds a bit more synth-saturated, kind of like hitting the notes with a slightly mid-rangy hotter pickups, while the Neunaber has more nuances and clarity. Is it worth the upcharge? If your amp doesn't have a reverb tank, I think it's a good investment.
the tone knob only controls time if you have echo or sustain selected, on the echo setting it controls the delay time and on sustain I believe it controls the hold time, its hard to see because of the angle but there is a line between echo and detune on the pedal this line is meant to show where the tone knob stops controlling time and goes back to controlling tone :) which shimmer do you prefer?
I wish you had tested the longest decay setting on each program and how they work in ambient music. I own the immerse and none of your demos use it’s most coveted feature.
It seems you set the Immerse quite a bit wetter than the Oceans 11. Also the Immerse is a stereo unit and the Oceans 11 is not, I'm not sure if you recorded the sounds from the Immerse in stereo or not.
Thats a close one. Does one do more than the other? I have been wanting the EHX, but if they are close on price IDK. The immerse had a better last call. (Sounded better for what they both do) But Im thinking the EHX does more? I'm poor so doing more for less is how I look at things.
The sustain feature of the ehx makes it unprecedented, I figure. One thing that is about .25 points down for it is that it is only mono, however, I can help that with a nice little chorus after it no probs.
@@DaniTorresOfficial there are secret settings one the 11, mod allows you to add chorus, flanger and trem or any combination thereof to your reverb. There is also reverse. But i bought it for the spring and I keep it for the spring, it is awesome.
EHX Ocean 11 SHIMMER IS FIRE.... You get this warm yet soothing feeling just listening to it...
EHX with the tone low sounds really cool.
thanks for this comparison dude, really needed this to do a choice !
Happy to help :)
Which one did you end up rolling with? I’m in the same boat right now.
They're both good for slightly different reasons but spring mode in Oceans 11 is so better.
Oceans 12 going to be released soon can't wait to see how it compared to the immerse mk2
The Immerse W3T and Plate modes sound so good in stereo.

Thanks for making these videos! I know no matter which two pedals I'd like to hear a comparison of, you'll have made a video on it :)
Been waiting for this!
Ocean 11 Shimmer ,Revers Are very Cool Sounds 👍🏿
In the beginning the ehx seems to be set less wet, compared to the neunaber
overall 'sound quality' is better with Neunaber but EHX shows better 'expression' on plate mode. nice rewiew thx😁
Hey, man. What a nice vidro. Thanks.
Oceans 11 shimmer is much better, in my opinion.
The Neunaber stuff always sounds like my HOF, the dry signal gets smothered too much. At least EHX let the dry stand apart from the effect more. Is it a headroom issue?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
which one do you prefer?
no problem! I really love the oceans 11 but the immerse wins it for me in this one.. suits my style of playing so well :) what do you prefer?
@@RyanLutton me too! Immerse The Best
The Immerse sounds more complex. Considering how I would use it as well as the price the EHX Wins.
Have you tried out the walrus Slo? Curious how you like it vs the Neunaber.
FYI on the Immerse, the knob you were moving modifies time not tone on the shimmer setting.

@@RyanLutton I stand corrected, totally missed that on my own pedal. I love this pedal but wish it had expression pedal and midi capabilities.
me too :) I'm sure Neunaber will venture into something like that in the future!

Yea,all the algorithms have infinite decay on the Immerse except for Spring obviously..and the Sustain mode is great for ambient stuff..
It seems you set the Immerse quite a bit wetter than the Oceans 11. Also the Immerse is a stereo unit and the Oceans 11 is not, I'm not sure if you recorded the sounds from the Immerse in stereo or not.
If it were stereo you would see two jack cables connected to the left side of the pedal. This is a mono demo.
Ocean has reverse, so it wins for me

@@DaniTorresOfficial Oh The Sustain mode on the Immerse is magnificent too..
Neunaber Immerse MKII any given day. BEST reverb pedal
So in effect, they are that far apart?
the oceans 11 has more functions to it.. but they are both reverbs at the end of the day! its all about which one you like more :)
Ehx really screwed up by making it mono
Label Me Justin they’re releasing the oceans 12 now which is stereo with dual reverbs in series or parallell. Did the same thing with the canyon.
