watching the glory became much more difficult for me after discovering that the bullying that the protagonist suffers was inspired by a real case of bullying in korea
it was inspired by multiple real cases but one person with a similar case came forward. There was a case in japan where a man was severely bullied as a kid and plotted his revenge only for him to be arrested before anything happened.
16-17 years ago, an assault with a curling iron occurred in South Korea. It's a terrible thing that actually happened. And the teacher who hit Dong-eun had quite a few similar teachers in the past. Of course, there are no such teachers now. If teachers do that these days, they will be reported and expelled.
As a South Korean, I can say that the scenes in the drama are never exaggerated. In fact, there were several such crazy teachers in Korea. Teachers' power in South Korea was very strong and they could reign as tyrants. (until around 2010) Since 2010, as smartphones have become popular and it has become easier to take videos with mobile phone cameras and share them on social media, merciless abusive language and assaults by teachers have gradually disappeared and teachers’ assaults on students have been banned by law. Rather, the power of teachers is very weak now.

@@noragawadi8269 Generally depends on the series, but closed captions are subtitles for Deaf/HoH people - which more often than not for foreign media means they end up being a script of the English dubbed version (so the mouth movements make more sense) and not actually a translation. I’d say the captions are different enough from the subtitles that it personally bothers me, but it might not bother others. Also I don’t actually know if the ones on this video are captions or just like unofficial third party streaming site subs lol.

OMG!!! The acting in this K-Drama is top-tier. This show had me on an emotional roller-coaster from the beginning all the way too the end. Literally one of the best DRAMAS I’ve seen in years.
I think you guys missed the meaning of Dongeun asking about her bully's dream. When Dongeun asked Yeonjin what her dream was it was more like her confirming her revenge goal and the rest of the groups. Dongeun basically wants to make their lives a living hell just as they did hers and she can only do that by knowing exactly all their dreams (she's on that longterm revenge scheme 😈). So in 10-20 years' time when the group of bullies is living their best life and Yeonjin has a rich husband and a family...Dongeun will be there to see that it crumbles into nothing and make them pay for their sins. Revenge is sweet is all I can say ❤🔥
If you guys are getting into K-dramas I really enjoyed watching "My Name" and "Extordinary Attorney Woo", even if you don't react to them I would recommend watching them for fun!
The fact that these K-Drama’s are so good & better than most entertainment we get nowadays is a testament of how masterfully talented they are. So glad y’all are reacting to this show, definitely my top 5 K-drama’s for me!

@@LightRuler003 my top recommendation would be a show called Juvenile Justice! It has strong writing, a good pace, very complex characters & themes that discuss the reality of Justice/the system as a whole. It can be hard to watch at times but if you’re up for it, please go watch it!
Also, the court system and way of life is way different in America. Literally if you have money/connection it's hard for the poor people to win. especially at that time period. Very corrupt.

The fact that the bullying was based off of a real story makes me sick to my stomach. The real woman who the story was based on even went on a show and showed her burn scars. Yet she was still such a sweet soul and had such an optimistic outlook on life. She even said some of her bullies became a nurse and a social worker.
