It looks really great. I would like to know more about how Frank runs the tank. What equipment he uses, how he controls algae, amount and frequency of water changes, etc...
It's super simple. For algae control, he cleans the glass. Blue leg hermit crabs and snails take care of the rest. He does a weekly water change of 50%, and there is some filter floss in the back.
Hey we appreciate that! We actually don't do that. If you have high phosphate or nitrate, we recommend water changes and/or running Rowa or GFO through a reactor.
Looks great. Would have loved more info on maintenance schedule and the equipment/filtration used. Is there a place that goes through this in more details from the competition, or the first 6 months-year?
Hey Adam. To answer your question, we keep it super simply. A 50% water change every week. In the back there is just filter floss and some reef rubble. That's it!
@@WorldWideCorals Thanks, much appreciated! I do 25% per week with filter floss, a sponge, rubble, and some carbon. So not terribly different. How many CUC is in here to keep down the algae growth?
@@WorldWideCorals Cool man, thanks for getting back to me. I have about 8 snails and 4 hermits in my 13.5, does alright for the surfaces but the nooks and crannies and sand are the hard places to keep the GHA off.
Beautiful looking nano tank. Love the Ricordea garden, that looks super cool. Thanks for sharing the schedule. You've got a brilliant maintenance schedule here. Well Done mate
Unfortunately the answer is No. It still isn't 100% pure and can contain harmful chemicals and pollutants. Also, it's stripped of minerals such as calcium and magnesium.
Awesome tank! 3 Questions: How often do you do water changes? How large are your water changes? What do you use for filtration in the back and how do you maintain it?
@@WorldWideCorals thanks! 50%, that’s pretty big! I have the exact same filtration on my 16 gallon BioCube and I only do 10%. Just tested Phos and Nitrate after no tests for 3mo. They’re crazy high! 50ppm nitrate and 2ppm phosphate. Any advice? I wonder if I should suck up all of the sediment in my rock rubble filtration section? Anything else I should do? What Nitrate and Phosphate levels does Frank shoot for on this tank?
It depends on how you are feeding and what livestock you have etc, but it sounds like you would benefit from the larger water changes until you can get those numbers lower. We aim for 10-15ppm nitrate and .05-.08ppm phosphate. Be careful when lowering your numbers as gradual is better than instantly.
You’re the best frank!!! ❤❤
Thank you Brandi!
Awesome looking tank
Thank you Johnny!!
Awesome setup man. Dipping in from the freshwater side 😄
Thank you so much. Join the dark side 🤣
@@WorldWideCorals It's in the works , however I consider saltwater the bright side 🤣
Thank god someone is doing a 10 gallon tank. It’s hard to find stuff similar that is not Red Sea marine
We love our nano tanks too!
Lovely tank, I have an all-in-one tank. Nice to see successful great looking nano tanks. What is the green coral on the back wall at 2:50?
He got to stock his tank with the best WWC corals haha probably first pick before stores!! Awesome!!!! Love this nano build
For the contest, everyone got to go shopping in the WWC farm.
How often do you do water changes and how much do you replace
Hi Mike, it's a 50% water change every week.
What do you dose if anything haha / how often do u do WC?
Came up in the video 10 seconds after I posted lol
No prob! Franks changes about half the water volume per water change (once a week).
What is your maintenance schedule. Daily or weekly water change?
Beautiful looking tank! How much water do you change out and what filtration are you using?
Hi Helen. Thank you. Frank does a 50% weekly water change, and there is some reef rubble and filter floss in the back.
Awesome tank 👍 with beautiful corals, why not have a pair of clowns. 🤷♂️🏴
Thanks! Frank only wanted to do 2 fish for this setup, and this clown was by itself in the store.
I went to the World Wide Coral website and I don’t see any link for the light schedule.

Nice nano dude! Those acros are colored up nicely! Everything looks vibrant and healthy ! 👌👌👌👌👌👌
Do you guys dose no3po4-x on any of the systems at the farm or in the shop?

Which schedule are you running? Can't seem to see it on the website?
You can use the one from the 100G reef and tweak it.

hi! is the 50% water change came from a fresh salt mix thank you! good inspiration tank!

We really appreciate that!
Looks really good congrats 🎉 one question i have seen a coral that looks like green grass do anyone know the name of This
It's called pipe organ coral.
Alex is right, it's a pipe organ coral. It's similar to green star polyps, but it doesn't take over the tank as quickly.

No such a thing as too much coral. There is always space and thats why my friend i now glue corals to tank glass and sides :)

Hi, beautiful tank and great video. What kind of substrate is used in this tank? Thanks!
Carib Sea special grade reef sand
Can I use distilled water instead of RO/DI?

loved it. thank you. love the electric daisy, i just received one on my beginner pack, what a beautiful coral!
Nice video and stunning display tank! Would like to see more set ups like this featured on the 'net!
