Good morning. It's really beautiful. At first I didn't think you'd be able to give this exceptional shape to your bowl. Besides, it's so small and fragile. It is also an achievement to have managed to preserve this bark net all the way around. It's really something I'll proudly display in my window. You see, I have a collection of gusset watches. For a long time I tried to find a showcase to exhibit them. While I was watching the result of your work I imagined that I could display my most beautiful watches on this small object surrounded by other gusset watches. I congratulate you on your achievement. I hope you understand how fragile the bark is. This bark breaks just by pulling it with your finger. I dream of having a showroom for my work in the future. The next video will be posted in about 3 days.

I've never seen a product done on the long side. When you pounded the tool in the bark side, I couldn't figure where you were going, except for a long bowl. I'm glad I stuck around.

Looks like out Easter red cedar that we have in the eastern side of the USA.
Seems to be planted in parts of the United States!
It is a friend of cedar, but it is very difficult to leave the bark.
I really love your work. I'm learning myself and am always looking for the mechanics- like how you attach the wood to the lathe. Your videos are very good for learning from log to bowl. Do you have any problem with cracks or is all your wood dried? I notice a lot of your pieces have the pith still intact and that's where my "green" wood tends to develop cracks. Thanks

When using pith, small cracks before processing grow slightly during the drying process.
However, if you are using unbroken wood, thin it all at once.
Finish to 10mm or less.
So in most cases it will not break.
The more paint you paint, the more difficult it is to break!

Guter Job, aber warum drechselt du den Rezess nicht nach innen? Dann kannst du die Außenseite komplett fertig machen und muß die Schale nicht nochmal umspannen!

Ist der Ort, an dem das Spannfutter hält (Tenon)? Als ich die Arbeit sah, wurde mir gesagt, ich solle das Innere vertiefen, um es schöner zu machen. Wenn Sie von der Seite und von innen sehen, ist es besser, das Innere tief zu sehen.
