It ain't Chuck without Sue. Those two were as big a duo in NYC news as Grimsby and Beutel and Jensen and Smith. As someone who grew up watching the news in SW CT, thus getting NYC stations, I can appreciate what Chuck has done. Thing is I too am 50 years old. But Chuck's been doing news longer, coming from Boston's channel 7. NewsCenter 4, News 4 New York, NewsChannel 4 and News 4 New York again. Times have changed.
What an incredible achievement. How many of us get to stay at any one job even 20 years, let alone 50, these days? They wouldn't have kept renewing Chuck's contracts for so long if he didn't have real talent. He's just announced last week that he won't be trying for the record after all; his final newscast will be in late December and then he's retiring. I hope and pray it's not due to declining health that he made this decision. Thank you, Mr. Scarborough, for half a century of excellence. The dean of NYC television journalism is stepping down; we shall not see his like again.
I WAS WATCHING CHUCK AND SUE AT TODAY IN 1980, WHEN I FELT I NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL FOR MY DAUGHTERS BIRTH. I USED TO WATCH THE SHOW EVERY MORNING. CONGRATULATIONS CHUCK!
I remember watching Chuck with Sue Simmons as a very little kid back in East Keansburg in the 80s. Chuck was the straight man and Sue had sex appeal. Chuck & Sue co-anchored for 32 years beginning in 1980, they were the longest anchor team in New York history.

Congratulations to Chuck! So nice seeing Sue Simmons again.
Chuck, congratulations on 50 years! As a former NJ boy, you are a true legend in the NYC news community!

WOW Congrats Chuck!
I remember Chuck's 1st day on LIVE AT FIVE. I remember it well.
He is synonymous with NYC.
Stop watching NBC until Ronna Daniels is gone.
Time to retire.
