I have noticed before Mr. Tennant's unusual way of holding the guitar, with his chin resting on the top of the body and his right hand cocked at an angle -- more proof that we must each, with time, find our own way with the instrument.

This Santos is very beautiful with a clarity and crispness to die for, and despite what some may think, is an instrument on which anything can be played. What a pleasure to listen to.
At 6:22 Scott flubs a note. I think he should look at the right hand fingering there. It looks like he is rapidly going to a higher string for one note then going back to the lower string. He should finger this with 'm' on the higher string and he won't ever miss it. If I'm mistaken here, I apologize in advance. Kent Murdick

Scott deseved his status of a master player and what sounds like noticeable mistakes to insiders are not even perceived as imperfections by the majority of listeners. I play guitar a little (and I have YOUR book on FS comping by the way ;-) ) but I hardly notice anything wrong with Scott's playing. However for some perfectionists this could be a useful catch.
This tune has some awkward chord stretches and many players capo the guitar for this piece as it still sounds Ok for this with a capo and is easier to play. The alternative is to tune the G to F# for easier fingering. His fluffed note is on a simple small scale run which is easy. He has just made a minor error which he played through like seasoned pro.
That kind of stuff can always happen in the heat of performance no matter how much you master a piece. I can't fault him for that, but this version of Washerwoman is way too fast and you can hear how sloppy it gets. The other pieces he plays here sound great.

vihuelamig I like the cypress guitars, but for concert classical guitar is usually the "palosanto"… I like the "Coral" too (I don´t know the english name), and another woods… but actually the flamenco guitarists for guitar concert playing with palosanto (Paco de Lucía and Manolo Sanlúcar, for example)… the cypress is better for the "tablao"… for the concert it depend of the style (cypress for Jerez style and many others). I prefer de cypress for the flamenco typical sound.
The guitar seems to have either has a low saddle or worn frets, some notes sound thin and pinched. Scott seems to be affected by that and compensates by moving the string away from the wear point. My guitar has similar issues.
Spot on comment. It sounds thin, crisp and edgy. There is no coincidence that he plays renaissance pieces on it as it sounds ok for that. A full sounding classical guitar would often be sporting a capo for this music.

Cypress is great for Classical guitars too. I know, I've made enough of them. It's also Romanillos favourite wood. . . for a Classical.

probably because of his body proportions(ie arm length, torso, etc)
Nylon strings, no callouses on his left hand, 10,000, maybe 100,000 hours of practice
try some lessons with him. he makes you feel stupid at how easy things come to him.
