Just a classic car with a sleek look and plenty of power. Happy to say I had the pleasure of driving one of these back in the day. - Plenty of Giddy-up!!
Took me 20 yrs to get the neighbor to sell me his 63 1/2 last year. Only a 289 bench seat but still hauls ass. Interior still like new. Could use a repaint but the paint is nice on it. Put brakes n bearings on it and new fuel tank. They always had it covered in the garage. Ke[pt telling me they were going to get it going. Never did and he got old. Fun to drive these
Only a true Galaxy 500XL fan can love this car which I have been since I first saw 1 in 1969 when I was 4 years old this is a true treasure find for me.
My grandfather had one of these. I rode in it some. One of the rides was 80mph on a street on the Southside of Indianapolis. I was about 15 years old. I don't think he realized how fast he was going. This is one of my favorite cars.
@@stubstoo6331 My grandfather's was light blue. It had screw holes on the steering colume where I guessed a tach had been mounted. I never got to drive a big car like these with a four speed. It's on my bucket list. I learned to drive on a 55 ford with three on the tree. I'm 71.
@@stubstoo6331I'm almost that age. And I understand what you saying. The things I want now have alot to do with what really left an impression on me in my younger yrs.
That was my first true hot rod. The man I bought it from was a mechanic at a Ford dealership he raced it at a small race track down South, It had a 390 police interceptor motor with Holman moody push rods and lifters Headers and a 780 cf. M Holly carb. When I took it from him he took the 457 we're in out and put 300 highway years in, I finally saved enough money to put 4:11 Rear end in it. It was truly bad to the bone
Bought one new in 64. Black over red 4 speed 300hp. Not a fast car for sure but to me, the best looking interior in a store bought car ever. The one shown looks out standing.
I was starting to get really excited when I saw the interior, I thought it was a four speed. Take nothing away, that’s a beautiful car. I’m lost on the red heater hoses.

This car has no bad angle. I'm a GM man but I would've bought this instead of the 64' Impala.
Agreed
Beautiful Ford.

My dad had one blue, but with a fourspeed 90 MPH in second gear.

@@jnbfrancisco I've been looking for a 64, but a xl with a bigger v8 is a little pricey and I'm 63.

THE INTERIOR IS AS NICE AS A SS IMPALA
i had a 65 powder blue convertible 4 spd. 390. where does the time go.
Beautiful car, almost pretty as a 1963 1/2 galaxie 500XL
You take the dog
I'll take the Galaxie 500
You get the cat
I get the couch you don't want anymore
You take the fish
I'll take the bowl
You take the dishes
While you're at it take my soul
But things ain't so bad
'Cause I've got a Galaxie 500
You get the house
I get a cheap motel room
You get a friend
But that should not matter to me anymore
You have a thing and he's just a friend
I can't believe that this is the end
But things ain't so bad
'Cause I got a Galaxie 500
Galaxie 500, in a Galaxie 500

I'm in my own Galaxie 1973
In my own Galaxie
You probably would have wanted this too
But it's not air-conditioned
No, it's not air-conditioned
No, it's not air-conditioned
No, it's not air-conditioned
It's not air-conditioned
Open the trunk
All of my dirty laundry
All of my junk in the yard
And scattered out into the street
You have a thing with my old guitar
I can't believe that you took it this far
But things ain't so bad 'cause I got a Galaxie 500
Galaxie 500
In a Galaxie 500
Galaxie 500

Beautiful Original Autombile with a 390 High output, the Big Block option Motor would have been the 406!
no 406 in 1964.
427
and the 390 was a big block.
Very nice Ford. They were well built. The steering needs to be aligned.
beautiful galaxie, hard choice between this and a '64 impala ss. i would just slightly lean the impala ss.
why is there black paint on coolant hose
How much and where is it??😊
I would bet that Galaxie 500 XL is better than factory new.
WHATS THE PRICE FOR THIS BABY. SHE'S REALLY NICE
Is this car still available for sale?
I prefer the 63 over the 64.
needs the polished stainless windshield wipers.
My 68 Cougar has them, I’ve seen some without them, and you’re right, it does subtract a little.
Do you finance??
What is the Mileage?
Who drives with one foot on the gas and another on the brake??
Old school 😎 lol
You didnt say how much...
How much ?$$$
Way over priced. A beautiful old Ford indeed but these classic car dealerships have lost their minds with the kind of money they are asking for these.
Beautiful car but I wish it was 28k
Jimmy Stewart country.
