A friend of mines father when I was a child had one of these in black brand new in 64'. I can't remember what they had before this. We had a 62' Olds 98. Before that we a classic 55' Rocket 88 Olds 2 door hard top. My brothers first car was a 65' Galaxie in the early 70s. He had it repainted and put Cragars on all for corners with fat tires on the rear.
Absolutely beautiful galaxy would love to own it. That’s what American cars should look like. Wish it was still The sixties what a wonderful time to be alive.
Now wait just a minute. Aside from it being a beautiful car, some things are missing here. No stupid music drowning out the narration? No idiot selfie in the corner bragging about himself instead of the car? No constant begging for subscriptions and likes? No ridiculously big logos blocking the middle of the screen? The narrator knows what he's talking about and isn't on camera more than the car? Are you trying to force me to give you 👍👍👍👍👍? Well you've succeeded. Beautiful car, great video.
I’ve owned several, wish I had kept my 63 . Had buckets, console, P-390 motor. It was a nice car. People who don’t know really don’t. Reliable, Comfortable, Performance, plentiful room. Just a Great car and personality and lines forever ! 🇺🇸👍
Thanks for sharing, brings back a lot of great memories. Ford nailed the design of the '64 Galaxie, downright gorgeous. Having a large family living on the southwest side of Detroit, four of my aunts & uncles owned '64 Fastbacks. Two of them were the aqua shown with 289s, one was a metallic gold with a 390 4bbl & the last was a moss green 352. At any angle they looked terrific. Almost forgot one of my cousins had a maroon '64 drop top XL with a 390 4bbl. Labor Day family reunions were a treat to see who bought a new car & always was a big deal.
Wow! That’s amazing. I’m not quite old enough to have experienced something like that but I can imagine how cool that was. They are a great looking car. I’ve since sold it but really enjoyed my time with her.
Absolutely beautiful car! I've always been a Chevy guy and I'm restoring a 1961 Impala right now, but I recently came across a '63 Galaxie for sale and it's really peaking my interest. I'd love a project to keep me busy while the impala is getting some fab work done... Not sure my bank account wants it though lol!
My 2nd Car was a 64 Galaxie 500 XL, 390 cid, auto, pagoda green with a white top , front bucket and split rear seat. I miss that car and I haven't had it almost 40 years.
This i think must be the most beautiful of cars ever made ! Was this car ever owned in California by a lady in Los Angeles !! It seems to be identical to her car , it was back in 88 !
I owned a 64 Galaxie 500 XL. British racing green with a white vinyl top and a white vinyl interior. Unfortunately it only had the 352 V8 with a 3 speed auto. But, It was sweet looking.
I sorely miss the days when you could open up the hood of a car and actually recognize everything that's under it... and work on it yourself. I'd love to see you do a rare station wagon of the same model and year.
I am surprised that you did not remove the steering wheel and replace the column shift elements with those from a floor shift model. I did that on a '65 Galaxie. 1963 through 1966 parts will all interchange. To make sure the car would start I put a small piece of wood in the electrical block on the steering column under the dash to lock it into what it thought was the Park position.
I know what you mean. I put a balanced 351 W and a 4 speed in my '65, but had to end up selling the vehicle as I had too many cars and nowhere to store it. @@adambedell73
I love the car I just picked one up myself and working on bringing her back to life I got a fiberglass thunderbolt hood for it and my next task is replacing rusted floorboards
I always loved the 55-64 Fords. I had a 64 Ford Galaxy with a 352 hi-performance. Nice job. I love the Windsor small blocks. Good choice of engine, getting away from the FE.
Absolutely gorgeous. Ever notice how those American Torque Thrust wheels are perfect for the old Galaxy body style? Sounded great too... Ever considered obtaining a set of old XL buckets and console and having them redone to match?
@@adambedell73 have used Fram since 1965. Never had any issues, ever. Daily driver, 3000 mile intervals? Never a problem. Observation - if they were as bad as the detractors claim my guess is that there would have been a lot of law suits
I had a total of three 64 Galaxies in my youth. My first was a standard coupe with a 300 hp 352 auto C-4 tranny., It had everything except a/c. My other two were fastbacks. The first had a built 390 with auto C-6 and everything except a/c. There were a lot of 64s with a/c but as hot as it gets down here I never felt the need for it. But my 3rd 64 was an XL black on red interior. It had a very stout 406 Interceptor package. They never made an interceptor 406 so I made my own/ it was extremely fast for a Galaxie. It was running a 3 speed with O/D on the floor. I had never seen very many Galaxies with the 3 speed on the floor but it worked exceptionally well Would you consider selling that 64 you have? It is a bit modded but I would replace the 351 with the proper big block. However it would not be stock after I finished with it. This kind of car needs the big iron in front of it. This is a very tastefully redone restomod and it sure deserves a deep look. The paint is great.
No 351w engine in 1964. 260-289 were the only small blocks option. Outer aluminum trim was polished and not chrome from the factory. BTW, it's a sports roof and not a true fastback. Speedometer should be mph and not kilometers unless it's a Canadian car. No disc brakes in 1964 either. Nice restoration but not great.
First it’s not the stock engine. In fact not much about the car was stock. The restoration was completed before I bought the car including the trim. The speedometer is in mph. I realize I misspoke when I said it was a fast back but I always appreciate when experts like yourself correct me. Next time I’ll send the Final Cut to you for your approval 😉
Of all the 1960s Fords, I think this is the best looking.
My favorite early sixties car.
learned to drive in my folks they got in 1964 new, nice car
Mine was Black on red with a 390 high performance in it, drunk lady ran out in front of me. She ran the stop sign. That's one beautiful car.
Beautiful ride.
One of fords best ever designs You can look at this car from any angle and the design flows perfectly
What a beauty
They surely do not make any cars like they did in the 60's love this body style and chrome very nice car. Also am a fan of the 351 engine
Gorgeous
Worth another look, that is one fine Ford.

SOMETHING ABOUT THOSE TAILLIGHTS THAT MAKE THAT REAR END SUPER COOL 😎
Beautiful old Ford love the 60's fords.
Car is so nice love it. Older Ford's my thing also great job ty
If I drove that, my smile would uncontrollably grow ten feet wide. Tasteful transition with floor shifter. Sooooo nice!
Thank you!

Nice vehicle and I like the color.
Beautiful car. Thanks for showing it
My dad had one in 64 it was a convertible white with red interior. In 69 he traded it in for a 69 Torino Talladega maroon with black hood. Fun times
Mopar are my fav but this '64 Ford is a close second !

Nice job..... And a great video
One sweet ride!!!!
One of my favorite Fords of all time beautiful job partner
The work you had done, just made one of the best body styles that much better. Gorgeous Gallaxie 500.
Wow, thanks!
I had the 1964 Galaxie 500 sedan. Sky blue with white top. Four on the tree. 289 I think was the motor.

YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF THE GUY THAT DID ALL THE WORK, HE DID A GREAT JOB....
It was a nice restoration that was done a long time ago. I spent many hours making it as nice as possible.
This a very nice 64 Ford.

THAT. IS. SWEET. How much would it take for you to sell it. Name a price.

Very nice ole Ford, 👍
Absolutely beautiful but it needs a big block
Fantastic car! Not a lot of people paint those Torque Thrust wheels but those are beautiful!
I need to Restore my 1964 Galaxy Convertible too this is Looking Really Good Man
They were beautiful car's, & I'm not a Ford fan but the 64 Ford Galaxy 500 fast back is a beautiful design. Good luck with your restoration.

I dint choose the engine, it came with it. But i did choose to rebuild it as there was already significant money invested into it.
That's a beauty!

Nice Ford you can go to any show and not be ashamed of your ride...

Sweet! You needed to burn some rubber in this video though.

HA. $$$ ???

Really love this
Sorry, but no way would I have a Fram oil filter. Otherwise, an amazing car.
Opinions vary- that filter was used by a very reputable engine builder.

It's ok ,. Don't like the wheels tho ?
If you change oil every 5,000 miles Fram is great.
They don’t make them like that anymore. That’s the old American way we have lost it. 😮

Those outside rear view mirrors are not correct for a '64 Ford Galaxie.

New engines puff white vapor like that. Not a bad sign, rather a good sign. Buy a new car, they do the same thing.
