      Hi. I'm curious mate what happenned with the Darche swag. They are not cheap so I expect them to be quite good.

    I would normally do this in the bath to really soak it through but I get your point about setting it up right before seasoning. What are your thoughts on maybe bathing it and then setting it up properly to dry?

      I haven't tried that it thinknit could be difficult to set up a soaking swag nice and tight. Tnere really.isnt a right or wrong way this is just how I do mine. 👍🏻

    I've been sleeping in swags for 60yrs and have never seasoned a swag. All of mine have been seasoned naturally and have never had any trouble with water

      That's perfect, mate! You must have some quality gear. Most companies these days even recommend seasoning.
      Thanks for watching.

    I thought there was a canvas waterproofing spray u had to use ?? like a starch or something ?? I did it once years ago I can't remember now .. it survived the rainwater but the zips at the bottom is where the water leaked in after a puddle bit up around the outside of the swag.. soaking the inner matteress

      G’day Brett, there are water proofing agents out there but I have never used them so can’t talk from experience. Even with all the years of using camper trailer I have never sprayed anything on to the canvas. . One reason I use a stretcher now is to stop the water coming in from the bottom.
      Cheers

      G'day, to be honest, I don't, but I should. I tend to use it all year in all conditions I have found it holds up well.
      Thanks for watching.

    What about after doing all that your spray Scotch Guard over seems ??????? Anyone done that ??

    • @OffroadTouringLife
      @OffroadTouringLife  10 місяців тому

      I know people that do but a good swag doesn't need Scotch Guard.

      The canvas has a "wax" coating. This helps close up tje holes where the sticking it done. I d8d have water inside after the first hosing. Cheers
