Girl! I am a soon to be 65 year old black woman who has been so encouraged to begin reselling! You are one of the entrepreneurs who provided information and made me believe I could do this. One of the things you have to get in your head is that you are helping 99% more people than you have haters. Most of the people sending negative comments are unhappy and jealous in their own lives so they try to bring others who are accomplishing what they cannot -down. Stop giving those folks a platform and stop letting them live rent free in your head! Just stop it! You are doing you, you seem to enjoy it, you are working for yourself, and helping provide a darn beautiful life for your family. I for one need the content that you so graciously provide us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

I am 61 and retired and thought I was going to go crazy after two weeks after retiring and starting a resell business that’s just for a bit of fun money, and I believe, saved my mental health. I was super lost and without purpose after working for so much of my adult life. I love the search and score of thrifting. Now I continue to feel like I have a purpose and hey turning 6. into 60 is a score! I love hearing of older people who are starting a new beginning!

Finding treasures and reselling is not scummy at all. It helps prevent clothing from ending up in landfills, encourages buying used, and if goodwill can accept free donations and sell at a profit then how can a hustling mom doing it be wrong? I was a struggling single mother of two waiting tables to put myself through college and then I started selling on eBay. I’ve bought myself a house and a car and was able to buy my daughter a car too. Would it be better if I was still struggling so hard? NO! Don’t let people hate on you for your success! They’re just jealous that they can’t be as successful.

I work at a nonprofit and I am the person who sorts ALL OF THE CLOTHING. We receive thousands of pieces of clothing a week and sell around 1200 pieces a week. Without your channel, I wouldn’t know half of brands that we put out on the racks (that sell instantly!). We are proud as an organization to divert these items from the landfill, and you should be exceptionally proud of the work you do in educating your fellow hunters!

You might be able to BULK SELL to resellers whatever you can't put out on your own racks. Resellers need consistent sources. It doesn't need to go to the landfill. Resellers will put it in their storage units! lol no, I'm serious, actually.
My daughter got into reselling because she was inspired by you! She was able to quit her job and now she's having her first baby and can continue to work. I love helping her and by reselling we're saving the landfills!
I am not a reseller, never have been. I don't know why your channel was recommended to me, but I started watching about a year ago and haven't stopped. I look forward to your videos and feel like I'm watching a friend. Maybe outsource someone else to read and respond to your comments. Don't let those people who hate themselves transfer that ick to you!

Hun, know this from an old reselling grandmother. People who strike out at others have a complex about themselves and it is the only way they know how to cope. Does not matter what business you are in-they are always there. Just keep one foot in front of the other and move on. Just think about what you are thankful for. 😊

Charity shops just want money in the till , we don’t care who buys it , if we see a customer in genuine need we will give a really good deal , we recently had a single mum with her 15-year-old son who was in need of a wedding outfit. We found him a suit which was as good as new and fit in beautifully and threw in a brand-new shirt and tie. He was absolutely thrilled to bits as was his mum.. things are there for anyone who takes trouble to put the effort in to sort it through them

The negative folks will FIND things to be negative about. I belong to several FB reselling groups, and one asked the question, "Why do you resell?" I was honest and said how blessed we were that my husband has a good job and we can live on just his income, however I resell so I can provide my family with some fun extras, ie.. concerts, vacations, etc. I was DRUG through the mud, saying I'm a horrible reseller. How dare I resell and take away sales from resellers that HAVE to do this to provide for their families to not be homeless. How I'm buying all the better stuff that the "need to be" resellers should have to make more $$ for their starving family. The thing is, I don't even shop at thrift stores 😮😮 I cry at TV commercials, I SOBBED when they attacked me 😢😢😢. You're never gonna make everyone happy... just keep doing you!!!

I'm from Portugal, and I'm also a reseller. Although it's not mostly on the internet, but at the flea market, I understand what you feel, and it's just the internet being the internet, because at the flea market you can feel the joy of someone being able to buy a piece that they otherwise wouldn't be able to, and This is part of being a reseller, not only because you are avoiding waste, but you are also bringing joy to people. Of course you have to buy cheap and sell at a profit, but whoever thinks that you can make a lot of money from that, should go look for these things himself and sell them for the price he bought them. And a reseller runs the risk of buying and not selling, on the trip until you lose your merchandise in an accident, have your house robbed, you have to know whether what you buy is real or an imitation, in other words, there is much more risk than what people think, and you have to have much more knowledge than if you're welcome. To finish, I just want to say that you keep your commitment for 2024, to be happy doing what you like, without worrying about criticism, because at the beginning of next year, you will see that it was worth it, thinking more about yourself and less about others.
As a retired career woman, I find that everyone with a career has to at some point(s) have what I call an "attitude adjustment". That is what kept me going. Focus on the long term goal, wipe the negative thoughts (and people) off your shoulders, force yourself to change your perceptions. You are a VERY successful self-made career woman, Ashley. Your family and those who raised you must be so proud of you. I see more and more resellers going to regular and multiple WhatNot auctions, so I do believe that is a good idea. EVERY merchant must get their inventory somewhere...there is NO shame in getting yours the way you do. You also help the environment with repurposing used items. And, you inspire others to resell. Girl! Us "Resllers" help prevent tons and tons of items from going to landfills. We are the ones who buy bulk items from these thrift stores, and the thrift stores LOVE us! Even with all of us resellers hundreds of thousands of dumpsters get emptied into trash trucks with all the merchandise these stores can not keep up with and go straight to the landfills basically daily 😢 I've never posted a video about my 20 year adventure of being a full-time reseller even though I've been encouraged to constantly by so many people who find what I do interesting and I get hate all over the place by people who have nothing better to do but complain about something they "think" they know so much about. DO NOT let the hate get to you. Just scroll past it or let a couple of friends be mods for you to catch these ridiculous comments and delete them without you having to experience the hurt and doubt yourself. You are killing it as a reseller! Shine bright 🌟

I need to get tougher this year too. (thanks for that) I’m a supervisor in a office, similar to UA-cam comments, I’m judged, criticized, lied too, gaslighted and emotionally yo-yo’d. By December I’m ready to walk in the woods and disappear. We will not let them win, we’re strong, brave and meant to build each other’s confidence. All the positive people and supporters will always overpower the negativity. You’re genuine and it’s refreshing. Cheers!

The reseller hate is so intense right now! It's too bad because the vast majority of resellers are regular people who are just trying to get by. I feel so self conscious about talking about what I do because people hate on it so hard but the truth is that I (and the vast majority of resellers) are not rich by any stretch of the imagination and we're just doing a job so we can make money to pay our bills and buy food, like everyone else does.
I love your videos and so glad to see you're back! I can't wait to see more of your behind the scenes type content, I think I'd like to start selling on ebay too so it'll be great to see what your process is. Thank you for working so hard and consistently putting out solid content!

I’ve been seeing a lot of videos where they give you credit for teaching them certain things are worth buying to resell, so you’re doing something right.
This was refreshing. I am a small UA-cam creator with 600+ subs and will probably never be monetized, but have a message I am compelled to share. I am 77 and will start reselling on eBay in about 15 days. I have done everything but sell guns to bandits to make a living. I was never ashamed to feed my family. It makes no difference what another person thinks of you. Be honest, treat others fairly, and be a person of your word. You will be fine this next year. Thanks for giving us a peek into your heart. My parents were antique dealers. People would say things like, "Don't you think you cheated those people wjen you bought a tiffany lamp for $10 at their garage sale and sold it for $200?"
The answer was always tje same. "No, because they priced it and they were happy to sell it for $10. I was happy to pay their price. So both parties were happy."
If you buy something from me for $10 and sell it for $800. I will be happy for you that you had the wisdom to know it's worth.

Also I went to the Sundance store a couple weeks ago and everything was 60% off even clearance. Your video is like watching those people that look for gold or sunglasses in the river. Im a new reseller. I have a full-time job. I was so burnt out my December, i stopped listing stuff for over three weeks. I just needed a freaking break. You or a lot of people have burnout. Also, your bringing money to the family. No matter how you are, your kuds are eating, they are clothed, going on vacations, with bramd named items, paying less they most, thats being smart, so dont ever feel ashamed of that. You do you and those kids.

Hi. Here are my first impressions after watching two of your videos: You are very appealing and pleasing to watch and listen. You seem genuine and authentic. You are a warrior for your family and yourself. It seems that you may have lost your way and are aware that your path has to be for what works for you and not for "the numbers" or other measures of "success". Small children remain that way briefly and then that is lost as well as your relationship with a spouse, so be careful not to undervalue as there is no time machine to redo lost opportunity. You seem smart, aware and kind, which are strengths. You are the business, not the other way around. I am feeling that you are crossing over as being more important/significant than the items you sell, so perhaps you can understand that and morph into doing things that lets the viewers share what is valued. you and your journey in this. What I mean is to say is not to get a big head or ego, but understand that it is that you are the magnet, not the used items for sale. I am not critical of your choices of what you have done or doing - you are in the arena and I am not. Trust your gut. I have enjoyed other videos of you at garage sales, etc. In my eyes you are a huge success, so if that is a question of yours about yourself, maybe hearing this form a stranger can be a small affirmation for you. Anyway, this is what comes to mind after hearing about your past year and watching the video of the Delaware scammer. I get frustrated by the criminals and the big corporations and our government - it is a battle. People that have chosen to be independent and work for themselves are what this country needs more of. You seem to be doing great at it and taking that break in December probably was smart and necessary. Maybe hire a trusted youth to help you and learn, perhaps that would be rewarding and beneficial at same time and allow a greater share of your time spent with family when it matters the most. Ashley, A while back I stumbled upon your channel and started watching the video, I really liked what I saw and subscribed. I really love when you take us along for a thrifting trip or a garage sale or yard sale. I am encouraged by your spirit and stick-to-itness. I am much older than you and my children are grown, so I am doing my re-selling by myself. If there is one thing I have learned, it is that there are a lot of haters and jealous people out there, who will try to tear you down in order to make themselves feel better. If I listened to all the haters out there, I would never try anything. I may have a lot of long-tail items for sale but I realize that what I sell is not for everybody. I don't do a lot of clothes, more household hard goods in the vintage and antique realm. That is what I know and what I love. They say that if you love the work you do, you never work a day in your life! You've got this girl!!
Be yourself, do what YOU want and post what you like to do! So many of us watch you to help us in our reselling ventures and because we LIKE you 😁I'm 68 and resell part time to pay for the things my pension doesn't stretch to - we aren't garbage or scum, a lot of us resell because we have very few, if any, other options. Just because we enjoy doing it shouldn't be a crime. I buy most of my own clothes from thrift stores too. Be yourself , you're a gem 🥰 🦘🦘🦘
Honey you can't let the 1% live rent free inside your head. You are a treasure and we love you and support you. You have led the way for so many to dig their way out of difficult circumstances but following your example possibly putting food on their table or having that extra money to take their kids on a vacation they otherwise couldn't have afforded. I was in the retail business for 30 years. I suffered a stroke which left me unable to work. After a few years I felt I lost my identity and my wife and I started Reselling. My wife quit her job to attend to me but as I continued to get healthier we started the reselling adventure. After we built the business a bit we became aware of the negativity coming to us from some. Most are positive but some are a bit negative about what we do which is painful. I feel for you as this hurts. I appreciate your content and insight. Thank You for everything.

Hi. I have watched your videos on and off for years. I recently haven't watched all of your videos, but I wanted to say that I appreciate you. I feel like the reason I haven't watched is because I now already know things that I learned from your channel and others. You are super successful for a reason! Be so proud of yourself! No one successful in life is spewing hate into a keyboard. More money and views doesn't equal more happiness. Thank you for all you have done for me. Hi! First, I love your channel. I am old enough to be your mother. My parents will tell me don't let anyone dull your shine. I am an ICU nurse for 27 years; people do the same thing. I don't know why people have to do that, but they are probably unhappy. You pray for people like that and keep on going. I have never met you; I can tell you are beautiful, kind, smart. Plus, you are a good mother and wife. I am proud of you; I learn so much. Because I have lost 150lbs, I gave eight bags to good will. I stuff. My clothes were very expensive. never found any. Do what make you happy.

Resellers need money. They are not trash! Most are doing it for a reason. A job. Income. You have lifted my spirits before…when I wanted to quit. Please know you will feel down sometimes. Take a break, cry, rest, reset, and rediscover the real reason you do this…financially supporting yourself & your family. You are amazing! You are an extremely hard worker! YOU ARE WORTHY!!!💪🏼🙏🏼❤️

Hi Ashley, don't ever feel bad for providing for your family from reselling and social media. There are people who will criticize but running a business is infinitely more difficult than working for someone else. The people who sit behind the keyboard and cast stones are miserable with their own life and want to project their unhappiness on everyone else in an attempt to make themselves feel better. That's their problem-not yours. You're an absolute gem and you should wear your success proudly. Take time away when you need to (because we all need breaks) and your community will still still be here.

I’m 56 and you have given me the courage to go full time as a reseller, and yes I’m growing my income because of you. When I watched your video today you reminded me of my 25 year old daughter who is trying so hard to grow her UA-cam channel. She worried what others think, yes that’s human nature, but looking past that helps solidify the amzing person you are. You and your family are so greatly appreciated! I saw this today and thought of your video. "Jealous people don't necessarily want what you got, they just don't want you to have it". I think that might be the case for the bitter little tiny cold hearted haters. I'm another one of your elderly admirers and am grateful for your videos. I'm learning from you every time you post. Indeed, I'm going back to learn your EBay listing advice to apply to my budding EBay project.
I also think it might be a good idea to hire a moderator to weed out the junk/fugly responses/comments. A moderator won't necessarily have the same emotional investment as you and will have an easier time getting rid of the trash. That will help you maintain your mental health during this wonderful journey.

You are one of the three resellers I watch that aren’t jewelry or purses only. I love your channel. I have watched for at least two years. I am not a reseller. I 11:47 learn what some of the things are worth that I own. It also shows me what to grab for myself at a thrift store or yard sale as a good bargain. I love your energy, your honesty and your love for your family. TJ’s quirky appearances are also funny. Keep doing what it good for you and your family. Those who don’t follow you, you don’t need. I'm also a reseller who sometimes feels ashamed going to sales and thrift stores and telling people what i do. cuz the connotation is out there about reselling. But i think most people i've been meeting these days are intrigued and now are asking questions which i'm more than happy to share...that's very fulfilling.
Your channel is one of maybe 5-10 channels that i watch and enjoy. I get a lot of information from them on names i can look out for. And after a day of sourcing, i also treat myself...lol.
What i guess i'm getting at is you do inspire and inform not just myself but many out here. I hope to start my own UA-cam channel maybe this year, we'll see how things go. But i draw on your videos as again inspiration. keep being yourself, keep doing what you do, and everything else will follow along into place.

I watch UA-cam daily and influencers like yourself have really brought me through some rough times. Unfortunately, people can just be bullies sometimes. I would imagine watching someone online and seeing how successful you can be annoying to some people because they don’t have the courage to do something similar!
