After having a good amount of friends asking, and watching a lot of videos on the same topic I found to be unhelpful, I thought I'd share how I do what I do, and how I make great profits from home. If you have any questions, either comment or email me at alexbudnick@gmail.com

Respect for being real and giving practical actionable advice. So rare on youtube

Man its awesome to find someone who doesn't ramble on about nonsense and nothing that actually helps. I can understand people don't want to go into detail on what they sell or don't to prevent saturation and drying up their honey holes, but you went into a lot more detail than most without really giving away specifics. I appreciate the info and I look forward to more videos. Working smart.
You are working smart- not hard! Great advice- It takes a minute in the beginning to 'learn the ropes' before you can really get rolling. I am a one person operation, so I stay busy. Very busy. Cha Ching!
Video worthy to watch until the end
The way this guy looks takes me back to my high school days back in the mid 70's. Yep, I'm that old. Great advice. No BS and to the point. I subbed right away and i hope to find more of your wisdom inside. Thanks for taking the time to do this for us. Take is easy man.
Hammertoe ....not old......mature! Yes I’m from high school 70’s ....the good’ol days!
I can relate...I was 17 in 1977. Alex reminds me of Steve Perry from Journey and the long hair is so reminiscent of the days when my three brothers, all older, wore their hair that long, back in the late 60's and 70's... Those days are deeply missed. Nicely done video, simple and to the point. Thank you.
Yes, Agree... C/O 1975! Miss the long hair on the guys!
This guy is BRILLIANT, and above all, he's HONEST about your real chances of success selling on ebay, UNLIKE 99% percent of the lying fluff videos you see on UA-cam. YOU ROCK, MAN!
best online advice ever...the kid telling truth...GOD BLESS YOU..
Please make more videos like this. Helping new people learning the ropes. Thank you for your help.
Its in the works! Actually just shot a new one about a week ago but SD card corrupted so I'll re shoot sometime this weeks and get it up!
+Alex Budnick Great video! Hey do you recommend opening an eBay store if i'm just starting?

First vid I've watched that is a real person sharing real info. Half the reason ppl don't get on Ebay is because they're afraid. .. afraid of screwing up, afraid of losing money, afraid of leaving money on the table. You da man.
You gave some excellent advice Alex and I know a lot of people appreciate it...myself included! I already do most of what you said but there was some I didn't. I hope you had a great time on your tour!
Im not even 10 minutes in and have gotten some good concrete advice. Subbed, please keep the wisdom coming, you're on another level and your authenticity is great!
finally someone telling truths
I know this word gets tossed around WAY too much, this vid was EPIC! Liked and subscribed! Thanks for the great info!
Best advice I've seen so far because it was honest and truthful and doesn't drag you down a road that you don't need to go to. I learned some critical things in here that I would've made clear mistakes on if I didn't see this video.
Your right on point. Every seller has to decide what their time is worth to them. Understanding that the time involved to list a $10 dollar item vs a $100 dollar item requires the same process.
Connie Mitchell exactly
Thank you so much for taking the time to just give us a little insight about getting into a eBay business. It was very insightful and definitely encouraging!
Love the $1000 bank account idea! I'm setting that up ASAP! Thank you for sharing Alex!
Thanks for the great content man, I have used many of these techniques to scale my store and they work! Appreciate the actionable tips from you. Good luck with your store!
thank you very much for this video, really helpful, also the music is AMAZING!! love it!!
Thanks for cutting through the bull. You get right to point and you provide a winning formula. I agree that the small stuff will go nowhere. Its not about the item you are selling its about how to maximize time and profit. Looking forward to other videos. Thanks.
One of the best reselling videos I've seen. Thanks so much. Wish I saw this 2 years ago when I started.
smart kid
100 on point. I've been doing this since 2009 and have always been engaged in some kind of business. This guy is right. You basically have to run the numbers on EVERYTHING!
Awesome advise ! Thanks you so much, you rock! I am subscribing for more... Keep them coming, I love your wisdom!
The more I learn the better this video gets. I love these kinds of motherloads of pure gold information.
Thanks once again! ☀🔥💖👑💝🙏🤹
I like your stance on ebay/thrift store sourcing and sales in general. Plus i discovered your music and liked that too! Good job Alex! A man of many hats 🎩! 🤘🏻
Thanks so much! I appreciate that enjoy!
Me too. I find clothing to resell and i make cash but CL sometimes too sketchy and killers out there too. The world is way too fucky right now and CL is HERPES LIST lol

Dude it IS YOU!!! From REVERB. This is wild! Im running errands atm but please hmu on that Bass guitar. Greatly appreciated! --> Rob 🃏
Currently in the trenches with the thrift shop stuff and you're right bro, been doing it for a year and have expected higher profits when starting. I'm changing directions thanks to you!
Thank you -- great video! I resold designer purses last Summer and did well. I had to spend a lot to get started but made good money in the end. I've just started it again for this Summer. Thanks again for the video. It's interesting to sell what other people sell and how it does for them.
Bro, this video puts everybody else's video TO SHAME. You rock my man, keep it up!
I liked, after seeing the first 30 seconds and looking at 2 top comments (and assuming the rest of the video). Keep it up
Great video. This kid seems to know about the deal, shares his knowledge and sound honest (not like others). The "DON'T Dos" advice rock. Thanks
Bro this was perfect! I've been trying to get into the Ebay hustle for so long but have no idea where to start. I spend hours a day studying business and watching videos. I remember Gary Vee talking about selling things from thrift shops on ebay etc. My first ebay sell was when the snap-chat spectacles came out, once i saw they were a limited release i knew they would be worth more sold it for twice the price on ebay. That was the moment my eyes opened to the hustle possibilities, i just dont know where good outsourcing can be found. Let me in this under ground world! LOL message me privately.
Instagram myvisualsaga you can buy say a lot of 8 phones or iphone/ipods for 30 bucks sometimes less that have cracked screens or need repairs. new screens are cheap and easy to fix with a youtube how to video. some need batteries but go on amazon get one for as low as 8 bucks. you can sell on facebook swap shops in your area that way you dont have to ship anything. im in the process of doing it myself. can do that with video games too and can find xbox ones for under 200 i found one for 160 with a controller. can sell for 200+.
This is a great idea, i'll def give this a try as well thanks bro!
Search for businesses closing where they are slashing prices. Look up estate sales or online auctions.
Best video on the subject. Please keep making videos, really enjoyed watching your content!
Dude you are wise for your age! I think all of this is good, real advice. I'm a musician too and cad designer with a work from home business that has taken me years to figure out how to support a family with.
Thanks, Alex. This is the best video on I've watched on UA-cam for ebay!!!!
Thank you so much!
Awesome video. Can't wait for more. Thanks for keeping it real. Looking forward to the shipping a guitar video. Don't laugh but I shipped a ukulele over the holidays and it took me like an hour (I kept having to resize it.)
Haha I've been there for sure! I just uploaded it, its on my channel!
Super Appreciate this. no BS and real. Thanks Man
Thank YOU for keeping it real!! I'm so sick of people lying on UA-cam about how to make money... to fatten their pockets, States place is the worst. Any who it's refreshing to see some honesty n a world that's driven by dollars.
I have to add... I worked in pawn for years associate up to management. Now I'm only saying this because all stores reach overflow.. and will turn items down (believe it or not) game systems, guitars etc. Talk to the manager and let them know what you are looking for and if they have it on a do not buy list... (If they will buy/pawn) you'll purchase it same day or within 24 hours. Mind you they are not accepting because they have reached capacity of their store. We at one point even stopped taking gold bands (crazy right) because we had so many. When it comes to musical instruments obviously you're not going to get the cream of the crop because if it's extremely good item they're going to keep it no matter what and resell it but you will get a lot of bread-and-butter items.
Appreciate your time to do this vid. Gained a few tips I have not come across
So nice to see somebody who doesn't seem completely full of it. Great job bro.
Thanks for being honest and doing this video as a down to earth ...
Hey Bud, you are well organized and informative, enjoying your info.
Great video and very helpful! Love your straight forward down to earth vibe. ✌🏻
Just want to say thank u very much for taking your time to help others start ebay .. so unselfish!! God bless your success!
It's nice to see a new face and some direct content!! Thanks for doing this video!
Dude. I remember watching this broke and living in the living room of my cousins house. Moving into my top storey condo next month. Thanks.
so grateful for this, great value. I am not going clothes shopping at goodwill, because I have no patience for the nonsense.
straight to the point . good share keep it up
Lucy MacLeod = Hideous Parasite
surimaribo24 Thanks
Wow! Sounds totally legit 'Lucy'! Thanks!
Thank you for this, I've got some great ideas from this.
I wish you continued success, you're gonna go far, my friend!
Thought this was clickbait, ended up leaving with more knowledge then the last 10 videos ive watched. Thanks bro.
Liked and Subscribed! -- love your no bullshit straight to the point shares, proud to say i finally made a sale. Will check out the site now for the t-shirts!
Alex. Great video. I have one suggestion. Whenever I go out of town, there's no need to hire an assistant. Instead, I put a notice in my store telling buyers that I won't be able to ship orders between (fill in the date) and (fill in the date) until I return on (fill in the date). This notice appears on every listing so the buyer knows ahead of time that there will be a delay in shipping. If he's OK with it, he'll go ahead and order. When I return, I have a pile of orders waiting and I ship them all out the day I promised.
I am impressed by your frankness. Myself with low funds I source high end items that are a steal and then sell at a profit. I do not mess with $5 items but do not have the money to risk a lot.
ALEX FOR A YOUNG MAN …YOU EXPLAINED IT VERY WELL …GOD BLESS YOU... FOR TEACHING US THE EASIEST WAY TO DO THIS...
Wow you know your stuff, thanks for sharing!! :) P.S. I learned about the thrift store hustle the hard way! I went out in the summer and spent $100 on clothes. Guess how much I've sold? NADA! I listed and relisted them 3 times. Anyways it discouraged me so much that I just quit ebay for 8 months but I'm back now. Editing again to say thank you SO MUCH! You helped me a lot.. I really believe I can make some real profit now.
awesome advise bro.... other people sound all hiped and saying 10000 here and there blah blah... honestly this video gave me the best advise... and hiped me up the most 😃
Be real. Yep wish i saw your video first. Now have like 2,ooo sewing patterns and working really too hard. Yeah you got it down pat. Good job. Really opened my eyes and my knowledge. Went to eigth grade and striving to better my retirement. Looks like never too old to learn. Thanks your a good man. I will use patterns for sideline and source some good stuff and better quality items. wow like getting a secound chance at this. I will review this video and memorize the steps it takes to profit. Love it
Ask me questions for an upcoming Q+A video!! ask.fm/alexbudnick
GUITARS BABY that’s all you had to say lol, saw that rack behind you and I immediately knew.
Started as a hobby, and eventually realized I was making more than I did at my job!!
Great work.I had an ebay guitar store and shipped all over the globe. Parting out the vintage stuff gos fast and makes great money.
Advice this good usually does not come free. Bravo and grateful
precise, concise and full of awsome detail thankyou
Your clothing line has globes and hibiscus flowers~! I love it~! Also, this video rocks.
"Stop being sentimentally attached to money" - Preach. I always try to go for value vs cost. Thanks for the video!
simple. to the point. logical. thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge.
you have a relaxing voice and great video
I like your style dude! You got a new sub :)
this chick knows what she's talking about ! much respect !
The Super Hater 😂
Arcy Stem a male
He's right about this, I purchased a ton of nes classics and flipped them all, also preorded Nintendo switches and made off that. Clothing is slow and you don't make alot.. Im focusing solely on top brand clothing now at Goodwill. Forget the small shit like he says it's a waste of time and alot of work I'm learning that the hardway
hows it going so far? I just sold a nintendo switch (got it for usual retail price 299.99 and sold for 400.00) and that gave me motivation to really take this serious. Hows it going for you especially with electronics?
Blue Goblin Electronics sell the best if you got good shit
are you still selling on ebay right now?
yeah on average how many sales a day do you have ?
nice are you selling the same item multiple times or different items each day? and what are you selling? Not the exact item but what category? (Electronics, clothes, gaming systems, jewelry etc?)
Really nice advice, and thank You for taking the time to help others.
At first I was like this guy seems pretty arrogant, then I kept watching, and you obviously know what you're talking about and very good at it.
Great Video, definitely going to improve my online store from some of your tips! Thanks!
Amazing video! Delighted for your success :) Thanks for sharing this information.
Great honest vid, really appreciate your knowledge
yo,thanks for the vid and I like your music in the back
When I watch videos like this, and the first estimate (for ebay fees) is off like 2-3X LOW, it doesn't give me much confidence that this guy is actually doing what he says he's doing. On the other hand, his advice on not selling low cost items is correct.
As a guitar player this helps because I can tell the difference in guitars and if they stay in tune now have to learn to fix them
Gonna be honest, when I first started the video I rolled my eyes. Actually turned out to be pretty good.
So needed to hear that! Thanks Bro!
Spot on! Great advice! I also see some negativity in the comments here. Everyone has their way I think. Absolutely no need for the negativity at all.
Me personally, I simply sell keywords. For me it doesn't really matter what the item is, it could be rubber dog crap, but I'll sell it, and sell it for a lot! I've purchased items from eBay, and sold them for quadruple the amount I purchased them for. It's all about the title! Title, title, title! Advice for all of my fellow Ebayers. If you don't already know, learn to separate yourself from the competition. This is easily, and simply done with great keywords in your title.
But great video!
you got ballz kid, good job. I agree 2-10 only gets you so far especially if the volume is not there
Very honest advice!!! Most people do not realize how much EBay and PayPal take in fees.
ur so real in this game...u remind me of my son...thx for the knowledge
People are not necessarily sentimentally attached to the money, but people have large bills that have to be paid, some living from paycheck to paycheck - and have only a limited amount of cash to spend if they want electricity and water! I do enjoy your videos! I suggest investing what you can and working up to the big stuff later! :) Thanks!
Thanks Alex for the video. Good advices. Keep on Rocking. Nice clothing by the way.
You don't sound arrogant, you actual give sound advice.. Good luck man
I love this video--straight to the point--thank you
Bro thank you so much I’ve seen all these UA-camrs on here not making any money! Spending $5 per product I’ve managed to make 2700 in profit in two weeks
Love to see it!
Great info man thanks! If you have a store all set up and you are going to be gone for say a week do you ever just use the vacation mode and ship it all when you get back?
In the past I used that feature, and it worked great but slowed down sales. I now have an employee oncall (ironic) and anytime I can't make it to my office I just moved into (if I'm on the road/college) and he will fulfill shipping for me. Sometimes even when everything else gets too crazy I send him in to fulfill orders within 2 business days, as I advertise.
Nice video man. I agree with some of what you are saying and disagree with some, I am a full time reseller myself and I just started UA-cam not long ago. I deal a lot in antiques and collectibles and also a lot of other things like clothing and all, most of all the clothing I deal with is vintage clothing and items. Your correct about a few things specifically the higher end items but you are missing the ticket and that is bread and butter items like the smaller lower end items that sell consistently, as far as buying clothing items at a $1-2 and selling them anywhere from $10-15 is a bread and butter items. But like I said I agree with you focus on higher end items and don't be scared to invest larger amounts to make larger amounts. A lot has to do with your business model, I own a estate liquidation business so I buy in bulk and there for have a lot of lower end items that I list and high end items, sourcing is the key! You need to focus on time management and you need to know the numbers. Reselling is all about what you want out of it, if you are doing it as a job and are just looking for the easiest way to make money and you are not worried about having a good time and enjoying what you do then there is multiple ways you can go about reselling, if your like me and you are doing this for multiple reasons like being your own boss, picking and sourcing items you know about and enjoy buying and selling, working your own hours and enjoying the grind and hustle of the reselling business. Reselling isn't a lifestyle it is a way of life. Thanks man
Truly an amazing video. Super informational and quality content... here is my one question that I think you could answer and would help me...
What actual percentage of the sale price am I netting on average after all fees and shipping? Say I buy a video game for $5 and sell for $19.99 with free shipping.. how much will I come out with after shipping and fees? $10 or so? Seems like with the tshirt reference they came out with about 50-55% of what they sold for. That will help me when purchasing and listing.
NIce stack of guitars man !!! I got 6 pairs Orange and Mesa Boogie expensive amps u got there bro
Definitely subb'd, good tips man!
Good video. Thanks Alex. Been talking to my wife about doing this to make some extra play money
Your video was awesome. It is true about the shipping, I sold an Optek Guitar and paid $67 on shipping, had I known about the box sizing, I would have had $40 more in profit. Thanks for the info, awesome. :)
Best information i have seen to date. Thanks!
Honest talks, no bullshit, subscribed!
Subscribed, thank you man! I might actually email you haha to get more into sourcing and other specifics
Super helpful advice, really learned a lot from this video.
Alex thank you for sharing this video! I'm one of those people making small margins on most of my sales, I have been doing pretty good with a few guitar pedals though and been considering Guitars. How do you ship a guitar?, I bet it is pricey. Do you ship it in a hard shell case and or a box?
Super helpful video thank you Alex!
Finally great video champ
