Man its awesome to find someone who doesn't ramble on about nonsense and nothing that actually helps. I can understand people don't want to go into detail on what they sell or don't to prevent saturation and drying up their honey holes, but you went into a lot more detail than most without really giving away specifics. I appreciate the info and I look forward to more videos. Working smart.

I can relate...I was 17 in 1977. Alex reminds me of Steve Perry from Journey and the long hair is so reminiscent of the days when my three brothers, all older, wore their hair that long, back in the late 60's and 70's... Those days are deeply missed. Nicely done video, simple and to the point. Thank you.

Your right on point. Every seller has to decide what their time is worth to them. Understanding that the time involved to list a $10 dollar item vs a $100 dollar item requires the same process.

Bro this was perfect! I've been trying to get into the Ebay hustle for so long but have no idea where to start. I spend hours a day studying business and watching videos. I remember Gary Vee talking about selling things from thrift shops on ebay etc. My first ebay sell was when the snap-chat spectacles came out, once i saw they were a limited release i knew they would be worth more sold it for twice the price on ebay. That was the moment my eyes opened to the hustle possibilities, i just dont know where good outsourcing can be found. Let me in this under ground world! LOL message me privately.

Instagram myvisualsaga you can buy say a lot of 8 phones or iphone/ipods for 30 bucks sometimes less that have cracked screens or need repairs. new screens are cheap and easy to fix with a youtube how to video. some need batteries but go on amazon get one for as low as 8 bucks. you can sell on facebook swap shops in your area that way you dont have to ship anything. im in the process of doing it myself. can do that with video games too and can find xbox ones for under 200 i found one for 160 with a controller. can sell for 200+.

    • @karonvick

I have to add... I worked in pawn for years associate up to management. Now I'm only saying this because all stores reach overflow.. and will turn items down (believe it or not) game systems, guitars etc. Talk to the manager and let them know what you are looking for and if they have it on a do not buy list... (If they will buy/pawn) you'll purchase it same day or within 24 hours. Mind you they are not accepting because they have reached capacity of their store. We at one point even stopped taking gold bands (crazy right) because we had so many. When it comes to musical instruments obviously you're not going to get the cream of the crop because if it's extremely good item they're going to keep it no matter what and resell it but you will get a lot of bread-and-butter items.

Alex. Great video. I have one suggestion. Whenever I go out of town, there's no need to hire an assistant. Instead, I put a notice in my store telling buyers that I won't be able to ship orders between (fill in the date) and (fill in the date) until I return on (fill in the date). This notice appears on every listing so the buyer knows ahead of time that there will be a delay in shipping. If he's OK with it, he'll go ahead and order. When I return, I have a pile of orders waiting and I ship them all out the day I promised.

Spot on! Great advice! I also see some negativity in the comments here. Everyone has their way I think. Absolutely no need for the negativity at all.
Me personally, I simply sell keywords. For me it doesn't really matter what the item is, it could be rubber dog crap, but I'll sell it, and sell it for a lot! I've purchased items from eBay, and sold them for quadruple the amount I purchased them for. It's all about the title! Title, title, title! Advice for all of my fellow Ebayers. If you don't already know, learn to separate yourself from the competition. This is easily, and simply done with great keywords in your title.
    But great video!

In the past I used that feature, and it worked great but slowed down sales. I now have an employee oncall (ironic) and anytime I can't make it to my office I just moved into (if I'm on the road/college) and he will fulfill shipping for me. Sometimes even when everything else gets too crazy I send him in to fulfill orders within 2 business days, as I advertise.

Nice video man. I agree with some of what you are saying and disagree with some, I am a full time reseller myself and I just started UA-cam not long ago. I deal a lot in antiques and collectibles and also a lot of other things like clothing and all, most of all the clothing I deal with is vintage clothing and items. Your correct about a few things specifically the higher end items but you are missing the ticket and that is bread and butter items like the smaller lower end items that sell consistently, as far as buying clothing items at a $1-2 and selling them anywhere from $10-15 is a bread and butter items. But like I said I agree with you focus on higher end items and don't be scared to invest larger amounts to make larger amounts. A lot has to do with your business model, I own a estate liquidation business so I buy in bulk and there for have a lot of lower end items that I list and high end items, sourcing is the key! You need to focus on time management and you need to know the numbers. Reselling is all about what you want out of it, if you are doing it as a job and are just looking for the easiest way to make money and you are not worried about having a good time and enjoying what you do then there is multiple ways you can go about reselling, if your like me and you are doing this for multiple reasons like being your own boss, picking and sourcing items you know about and enjoy buying and selling, working your own hours and enjoying the grind and hustle of the reselling business. Reselling isn't a lifestyle it is a way of life. Thanks man

Truly an amazing video. Super informational and quality content... here is my one question that I think you could answer and would help me...
What actual percentage of the sale price am I netting on average after all fees and shipping? Say I buy a video game for $5 and sell for $19.99 with free shipping.. how much will I come out with after shipping and fees? $10 or so? Seems like with the tshirt reference they came out with about 50-55% of what they sold for. That will help me when purchasing and listing.

Your video was awesome. It is true about the shipping, I sold an Optek Guitar and paid $67 on shipping, had I known about the box sizing, I would have had $40 more in profit. Thanks for the info, awesome. :)

Alex thank you for sharing this video! I'm one of those people making small margins on most of my sales, I have been doing pretty good with a few guitar pedals though and been considering Guitars. How do you ship a guitar?, I bet it is pricey. Do you ship it in a hard shell case and or a box?
