Wow impressive 2nd place for Jim. It’s crazy I can usually find Jim for $13-$15 for 750ml local and pretty much all the rest cost more here. I can’t understand how this channel hasn’t blown up.
Haha yeah I was surprised Jim Beam did so well. Really came in 1st among the true bottom shelfers. Hard to beat for $15 or less in your area. Thanks for watching! 🥃
Another good one, guys! My cheap go-to is Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond. It’s still right at $20 a fifth around here. Great mixer and not too bad as an every day sipper.
23:30 Old Grandad 114 is a completely different animal for not much more, but (IMO) it's really 'hot'. Maybe give the 114 a shot (pun intended) if you're so inclined.
I’ve not found Weller SR under $50 near me, it’s completely fallen victim to Pappymania; I’ll stick to Larceny. Though I’ll never buy OGD or Evan Williams when the Bonded versions are so close in price.
Yeah, I would have thought Evan Williams would have ranked higher for me going in to the tasting as well. Love their white label bottled in bond. Jim Beam was quite a surprise for me. Haha, yes Weller SR can be hard to find. Good stuff but not for the secondary markups I think. It certainly stood out in this tasting, I'll give it that. Thanks for watching! - Craig
Yeah, Roger just grabbed what was literally on the bottom shelf in his store haha. I would say 4 roses yellow label would have been a good addition. It was my go-to cheap bourbon for years but the quality did go down noticeably. Everything else they make from the small batch up has stayed fantastic. Go to know the yellow label may have improved too. Cheers 🥃
@@schneids02 I think it's good just a shame some Buffalo Trace products are overpriced. I really love Weller Antique 107 but that one is impossible to find
Yeah, that's about where I'm at with them right now. Most of the things Buffalo Trace makes are good, some are great. For MSRP many are very good but the jacked up store and secondary market prices and difficulty to obtain just wipe out most of my love for them in comparison to bottles that match them if not beat them and are much easier to find. You will see a lot of times if people blind taste say, Blanton's against real comparables they don't always fare very well. I was still excited to luck up and get a bottle of Stagg (Jr) for retail from my shop through loyalty points in January though. But like anything else, if you like it and are willing to pay the price then it's worth it.
Commenting before I watch, I actually love Jim Beam definitely my go to for a bottom shelf bottle. I also like Old Tub also made by Jim Beam.

Jim Beam is a great cheap bourbon. I usually throw an ice cube in my glass.
Old tub is good, but I’ve heard some rumors that it’s gonna get discontinued in a few years
Roger absolutely nailed it - I get cherry all the time with Weller SR
Now we need a lineup for Scotch
Would love to! Thanks for watching!
SCOTCH IS DEAD
BOURBON IS THE NEW KING!!

Totally agree on Evan Williams BiB. Fantastic for the price. Thanks again for watching. Cheers 🥃
Great video, keep them coming !!

Haha yes indeed. I actually like OGD 114. My experience with that is likely why I thought the rebel might have been Old Grand Dad 😆
@@drinkingwithcraigandroger4539 Love OGD 114

Your dad is awesome. He almost drank all the Weller XD
😂
Dang... Maybe I need to replace my Evan with Jim Beam...
It’s worth a revisit for sure.
Benchmark old #8 Is a decent bottom shelf bourbon.
$25.00?!! Damn I paid $75.00 for Weller's. I l've tried most and I liked Evan Williams the most (besides Wellers)

How is the cheapest Jack not in this 🙃
It's not a bourbon.

I'm surprised 4 roses wasn't in the list, but it has gotten better in recent years.

Weller is definitely not bottom shelf lol
Yeah haha. Definitely got put into perspective in this one 😆
It technically could be it's silly that it's sold for $59-89 it really should be a $25 bottle. It's 90 proof with screw top
@@Jared40 it it’s freaking delicious. Overrated? Probably. But it’s undeniable that it’s awesome
