Sometimes there's a good reason for duplicates. I keep a candle lighter in the two places I use them most: the bathroom and the living room. I keep scissors in the kitchen, sure -- but there's always a pair at arm's reach in my living room, and a super-sharp pair in my craft room.

I use binder clips for bag clips. Very strong, you probably already have some in your office supplies, if not you can get a whole bunch of them for cheap, they store in less space than most bag clips, and they're virtually indestructible.

Same. I bought a bunch at the dollar store years ago and have never had to replace them! They stay on packages so much better than chip clips.

Certain tools and things I like to have one on each floor at least. Sometimes I might want a pair of scissors in my office on the first floor as well as 1 in the kitchen for kitchen shears and another 1 in the kitchen that is for cutting other things besides food. I also like to have a first aid kit on every floor and keep multiple items where I use them. For instance, I put duplicate kitchen spices, utensils, and gadgets in the basement kitchen. The basement kitchen is used mostly for making snacks or lunches when kids are in the media, gaming, or playroom. The basement kitchen is also sometimes for big events or holidays or when there are multiple cooks in the house.

It always got on my nerves that my grandpa kept his tools on the kitchen divider. Now that I'm a homeowner, I totally get it. My drill, flathead screwdriver, and Phillip's screwdriver permanently live on top of the china cabinet, and some mounting hardware lives in a kitchen drawer. When you have to go out to the garage to get tools, those 5 minute projects get put off.

You are one of the "UA-cam moms" that I watch a lot and I've been trying to go around and say this as a "holiday gift," in a way.
Your content may be geared to moms, but it's also helping myself and a bunch of my other LGBT+ friends that were rejected by our families. We spent our time being ridiculed rather than being allowed to learn how to live.
Thank you for being here to help us fill in the gaps. The quality of my life, and those of several of my friends, has improved greatly.

I worked the front desk at a hotel in college and was taught how to fold fitted sheets in angry Spanish. Your explanation made about as much sense to me as the Spanish tutorial but I confirm it is correct. At home I hang the first tucked corners onto a door knob while I tuck the others then lay the sheet on the bed to make the square. I promise it is not as complicated as it sounds.

I recently had a cereal box where the lid would not stay closed. Fortunately, I used a bag clip for the cereal that was in the box to keep it fresh and from spilling. I thought there'd be one more step with this hack after the tab was tucked inside -- thought a bag clip would be needed. Definitely going to try this with my next box of cereal.

I loved the mason jar hacks. I'll have to save my next emptied salt container. I will probably be using the new pouring and shaking jars in my craft room. Thanks for all the great ideas. And thanks for doing it economically. I can't spend all that money to make everything perfect. Keeping it fresh is my main concern. I have a laundry hack for you. Keep salt in the laundry room and use a good palmful the next time you wash a new, deeply pigmented item. It helps set the dye. No more running of colors in future washes.

    • @CarlaQuattlebaum
      @CarlaQuattlebaum 2 місяці тому +1

@@DawnDavidson Yes, the dried Parmesan cheese lid sounds handy, but I can't use that stuff anymore, not since I've known how good REAL Parmesan cheese is. I did find a handy Dollar Tree item, recently. It's a Parmesan cheese shaker. I got it to use as a vase for the flowers my grandkids like to pick. I had a tiny Mason jar mug that's supposed to be a salt shaker. It was pretty good as a little vase, but the stems of the flowers my grandkids pick are sometimes too thick for the holes in the salt shaker's lid. Had to upgrade to the Parmesan cheese shaker. I loved having a lid with holes because they keep the flowers upright in their own spot instead of leaning like they would in a container with no lid. I think I got the idea seeing some UA-camr (no doubt) doing flower arranging with some type of round grid over the vase to keep the flowers upright.

I keep my insurance card and registration in that so if I need both items I don’t have to lean over the seat or go to the passenger side to get into the glove box. Also keep wet wipes in mine. My youngest grand is 17 in a couple of months so I don’t have to have all the extra stuff. Think I might start keeping an extra plastic bag in it for trash.

Kallie, you taught me how to fold a fitted sheet when I first started following you and roll the towels! I have since found an easier way on here to roll towels that's a little quicker, just searched it up and thought you may like it too. (:

Another simple way to store plastic bags is to stuff them one by one into a empty tissue box. Then the box is a bit smaller and fits nicely under kitchen or vanity sink.

re labels: Even if you are literally staring at something you could spend a good 3 seconds trying to remember the name for it, you don't have to with a label it's right there. Sometimes, we forget what we were doing in the first place when we open a cabinet and when we scan labels it can trigger the 'oh right', even if you can clearly see what's inside it. I've also found for my adhd it's helpful for not getting sidetracked, too if I end up looking in something 'just in case' because it's not labelled cos I thought it being see through would prevent that.

Happy New Year to You & Your family. I have been watching you for a yr. I have learned quite a few tips. You make your videos interesting by moving right along and not over explaining. Your personality is very happy & uplifting also. I had 3 operations on my rt hand & arm & couldn't do alot. I ordered the same spice jars you use that I saw on a video from Amazon & I enjoyed organizing my spices. I like to open the door (where they are on a door rack) & I am able to get exactly what I want. I have them alphabetized. I used to have to read the labels or see through the containers to use them. Have a great year ahead & we will be looking for more suggestions. 🎉😊

I’m so glad people are finally starting to talk about wet/dry vacs. I’ve been raving about mine for 2+ years. It’s is my #1 cleaning product that I recommend to everyone who had children or pets (or just loves a clean house). It was a more pricy investment, but 100% worth it. I got the Tineco S5 and I use mine at least 3 times a week, sometimes daily. With my 3 dogs (one of which is a senior and has accidents), it is just a must. I love the self cleaning feature and cleaning the dog hair out of it is not difficult (of course I don’t have any super shedders).

I got a Tineco, too, about 3 months ago! I would not trade for it! It also came with a Tineco small hand vacuum with two speeds. I used it the other day to clean up rice that was spilled on the cabinet. It made it so much easier!

I love your videos so much. They are so real. I’ve been following for a long time. (Since makeup tutorial times.) As a person who appreciates and watches nearly all of your videos… I must recommend stuffing that fitted sheet into a bin and not giving another effing eff about it. ;) Afterall, we still have down comforters in the dryer that probably need another round, and kids to care for, amirite? :) That said, this video is very valuable; and I will likely rewatch it 3 times, because it’s jam packed with great ideas. Thank you, Kallie!
