This build was so much fun! Check out our website for more info: punishedprops.com/2019/08/28/scifi-foam-armor/
Punished Props Academy the armor looks absolutely amazing and so beautiful. Have a wonderful time at Dragon Con. I just remembered something the little holes you made with rotary tool for the arm look like tiny lug nuts and it really works.
Hey Bill or Brittany I was wondering when you can and able to can you please do videos for the different methods on how building a the Master Sword & scabbard/sheath and Hylian Shield. So we can see which method is better, stronger, and what your preference is. If you go to HappyAtom and Chaos Core Tech profiles they both have free plans. HappyAtom has plans for wood building for the Master Sword & it’s scabbard/sheath and Hylian Shield while Chaos Core Tech only has 3D printed files for the Master Sword and it’s scabbard/sheath. I was unable to find free life size 3D plans for the Hylian Shield.
Thank you
Just wanted to say...
I am crying right now because it is so beautiful! I hope I can do what you guys do someday!
RoboFox don’t give up. Take your time and always keep on finding ways that help you.
34:51... The Bill is grounded.
I love how you guys added the southern rock music in the video edit during parts of the building of the armor. You should do a parody video in the tradition of MAN AT ARMS: REFORGED (AWE me). Moody lighting, add CG sparks and flames as if Bill is beating and shaping foam...title it the Foam Smith!...with the southern rock music of course. Just an idea. Great work Punished Props!!
"Seasonal girth variety" earns a like on it's own, I'm stealing that one
I love that you're doing an original design, original characters don't often
get enough love in the cosplay community.
LadyAmanita T R U T H.
And I don’t even cosplay. I just like making props. It’s like building cars and guns: the process is as fun as using them! Also, there’s so much creative room with making your own character. (And diehard weebs aren’t gonna criticize your anakin cosplay for being 0.0003464 inches off!)
@@savagetuner2404 you make props? Can you give me tips...
I want to try making crescent rose
From RWBY. Or at least tell me where to start...
Thanks and have a nice day!
Crayon Berry although I hate anime, I guess I could help a little. What are you trying to make specifically? Costume? Weapon?
@@savagetuner2404 crescent rose is her weapon. It's a scythe. And it's complicated, and I want to work my way up to that. I just want to know where to start, what would be ideal
Crayon Berry I know this sounds stupid, but if you've never done it before, try cardboard. Do your best with cardboard, but don't finish with paint. If you think it turned out good, try dense craft foam. Repeat step one, if it came good, then move to your next material. Then go to (if possible) a nerf gun and use it as a base for the project. You can sculpt miliput around it to make desired shapes. It's like playdough, but it hardens to the strength of aluminum and low grade steel. If possible, go to 3D printing and 3D pen work next. That's basically as far as it goes because you can't get more accurate designs than that.
Ps miliput can be put on literally anything, check it out. It's revolutionary!
So interesting to see the whole process for a set of armor from start to finish in just one video! Think it might have a strong... IMPACT for when we try cosplay again :)
What about an lron Giant costume, as you are an engineer.
I see what you did there! :D
And get Adams rusty bolt he built with norm too.... That would blow their minds if on the last day there would just be the bolt beeping in a glass case and l make a pretty good 'heavy'
Get to it!
I wonder if it can be done with resin or resin type references... 🤓
Really enjoy this longer builds
Just the glove on its own looks very megaman-like, I love it!
I've always had a love for modge podge so it's really awesome to see some different applications for it :)
Awww look at the cutesy little bansaw! It's so small!
Great time. Had enjoyment. Will return again.
This new style of content is just so much fun!
Woo! Glad you like it!
Longest video my ADHD has ever let me sit through, it's so good even my ADHD likes it.
Same with me I can never really finish this long of a video
im on this boat too
Sme here
Same here
Bill - you are a true artist!!! We can only aspire to rise to a smidgen of the level that you are at with foamsmithing. I think I need to purchase your foamsmithing books pronto! Thank you (and Brittany too ..and all the peeps at Punished Props) for taking the time to help us learn and understand the art of your trade. We greatly appreciate you all!
You're so very welcome!
I was so focused on my own build for DragonCon, that I did not watch vids for about one month. So, I was pleasantly surprised to see you after a photo-shoot on the 10th floor in you AWESOME cosplay!
Surprise!
YES!!! Now I know what to keep an eye out for.
Hope to see you there!
Oooh, what a time for making things today. Lovely surprise today you guys :) Definitely going to enjoy watching this whilst making Stormbreaker for my first cosplay and con next month
Awesome! Hope your build goes well.
Punished Props Academy went straight to plaid... Thanks, Plaid.
The result of a one night affair between Samus and a Space marine.
If anything it's like an adult Megaman
The Emporer does not approve.
(But seriously u rite XD)
YESSSSSSSS ink wash and dry brushing my favorite, too!! This is amazing! :D
Nice thing about Arduinos is that if you plug into the the barrel jack it can handle your 12 volts power supply and provide the needed 5 volts to the neopixel lights
I've seen this like over 100 times but its still one of my favorite video on UA-cam
Awe, that's great!
"*whispering* hey can I have a sip of that coffee!?"
That sentence alone reaches into my soul haha. Thanks for giving out tips and showing us a cool build! During the entire video, I just sat here and took in all the awesomeness while I work on my own cosplays for Halloween. Usually this time of year I work on stuff for MY favorite convention; Youmacon in Detroit, MI. But thanks to adulting, it'll have to wait until next year... but hey, maybe I can also make it to DragonCon next year. I hear a lot of good things about that con!
Also whispering* it’s free real estate
I just wanna say, thanks for inspiring me. It was you and Evil Ted's videos that inspired that younger me to start making props and costumes. I didn't even know what it would turn into at the time, but that love for making you invoked in me turned into a passion, and I am incredibly grateful. By this time next year I will be heading off to art school for sculpture, the paperwork is already signed and everything, and you are one of the people that made that happen. Thanks for everything you've done for not only me, but an entire community.
That’s so wonderful! We’re so happy we helped with your maker journey.
my favorite con is here in Oregon, called kumoricon. it is my favorite cuz it was my first con I went too and was so small, but its only gotten more fun as it grew over the years.
You guys have been a big inspiration for me. I got a 3D printer a while back and I am currently working on my first big cosplay. Thanks for always inspiring makers all over the world Bill and Brit! Love from Canada!
That's so awesome!
My favorite con is NärCon here in Sweden. Our cons are usually a bit different from yours and NärCon is like the epitome of our conventions: safe space for nerd to hand out and have fun together. I'd love to see you over here sometimes and every year when they send out a survey of what we want to see there I always enter Punished Props there
You said weathering and a smile spread across my face
This man literally made a power fist. The adeptus mechanicus would like to know your location.
Those other three people ar probably the only other people who know warhammer 40k
Literally!
He would make a good smurf marine.
@@sirshotty7689 I CAST *FIST*
A really incredible design.
FanX by Salt Lake Comic Con
It’s a fun Con. Utah has a big comic underground.
Thumbs up for the tip about laying down the base color behind a stencil to prevent color bleed. I did a project for Christmas last year that required the use of stencils and, despite my best efforts I was unable to prevent color bleed. I had to come behind and touch it up by hand for less than perfect results.
Happy to help!
Wait!!!!! No Helmet! What kind of armor is that!
Just kidding. It’s looks awesome
The stick, the greatest mystery of science!!!
The stick is the true problem solver!
No DC for me this year. Will miss being there with you all! This looks amazing. Traveling today. So will watch the entire vid soon.
We're gonna miss you there, Eric! We'll have to bring this armor out to ECCC next year.
One hour... I love it!!!
Wooooo!
"Time to get stabby" I love it ya need to make a shirt with that XD
Ghet Orange
@charlie_manson_
Would like to know your location.
Okay TommyInnit
What I like the most is that you can excite yourself about your work that you have done
😉👍
my favourite con is...
nothing im just a kid
This is the first of your videos I've watched and it was fun, most of the time the person in the video can be a bore. You sir, are not a bore, I also like that you did an original build. 👍🤘👍
Thank you so much!
57:55 NO CAPES!!!!!!
Didn't you watch The Incredibles :-)
ETA: Darn it you beat me to it.
Bwahahaha
Love the longer format video 👍
My favorite con is GenCon, cause it's 20 minutes from my house, so I spend WAY less money than at others.
Had to come back to this, I like what you did with the fingers!
Thanks!
I’ve never been to a convention
I recommend that for your first convention go to a smaller one.
Also when you go to the merch floor walk around the entire merch floor before you buy anything.
Same
i really like the technique of beveling the foam where it's going to be glued together, and using the foam dowels to add detail!
@35:52 Da Cheat light switch rave music ? Strong Bad Email #45 - Techno ? The system is down. The system is down.
This build was just incredible to watch. Love all the aspects of this. Wonderful wonderful!!!
Thank you! 😊
Could you make the night-howler Gun and case from zootopia?
It turned out great. Have a fantastic time!
My favorite con is the montreal comicoon because, when you go in cosplay some cosplayer come for talk with you like you are in a family. A lot of people are so kind and when you are with your friends it's very good place for pass a good time.
Awe, that sounds so nice.
Cosplay in general is a super community, but I agree Montreal (and all the Quebec province) has a very special one.
Punished Props Academy can you make fallout power armor
*"Clicks"* *Noice*
This is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve watched this build. It really is a genuine masterclass. It’s a spectacular piece of engineering Not just a foam costume. Amazing team at PP.
Thank you so much!
"Hook and Loop"? I was always taught to call it "Velcro"
"Hook & Loop" is a specific kind of industrial velcro
I thought the same thing
The fist is a really good way to make a Bakugo gauntlet!
Absolutely!
Man im LOVING these new longer vids. Keep it up guys!
Will do! o7
That I'd even better than I thought wow
ECCC. Last one, especially. Got a chance to meet a couple of my favorite makers.
ECCC was so much fun!
My favorite con is G-fest. It’s a whole convention about one of my first favorite movie monsters, Godzilla! I have always loved Godzilla ever since I could remember! On the day that we went there was a ticket raffle for a 2 foot tall Godzilla figure, and my sister said that she needed $15 for food and stuff but she really spent all that money on tickets so I would win, and I did! She is the best sister I could ask for!
That's so fun!
MCM Expo Manchester has always been my favourite convention, I've been going since 2014 and was the place where I feel extremely welcome and everyone is so awesome
That’s so great!
Thanks for sharing! Bill and team, you really out-did yourselves, what amazing costume!
You’re welcome!
ive wanted to make costumes for a very long time now, but i could never figure out how. ive seen you on other peoples channels, and always thought your videos would be too confusing to follow along with. this is the first video ive seen of yours and i feel like i already know everything to do to make an amazing costume. thank you so much for your tutorials and sharing how you make your amazing items
That's fantastic! We're so happy to help!
his fanboy giggles when something works the way he wants and it looks awesome, just makes my day
It's so exciting!
this whole video is just full of excellent techniques.. the clear plastic, the mod podge in a spray gun, so good thanks a lot
this build give me dope megaman/samus vibes, and those lights are so cool!
Yes! Gotta hit those 90s anime vibes
That looks like a very good way to make a Space Marines (Warhammer 40k) Power-Fist. Pretty awesome work. i love how the holes worked out like there are screws or bolts in there
Thanks so much!
That slight of hand was perfect! 😂
The Bob Ross of cosplay!
Awwww, you're too kind!
My favorite convention by far is Emerald City Comic Con, and it's always a pleasure and an honor to meet you guys at the Proptart meetup every year
Your videos keep getting better and better. The videography, editing, music, content is all just top notch. I love the new long format videos and am super excited to sit down and watch what you come up with next.
I live for these videos
If i even had half of your coolness and equipment i think i'd have a mini heart attack, keep doing your stuff man always so cool to see you build some outlandish outfit from a wastelander to your newest impact character
Thanks so much!
That looks amazing! That smoke, and That beautiful blue! I love it!
Thanks very much!
one of my favorite conventions is Gallifrey One. It might be a Doctor Who specific convention, but folks still appreciate awesome costumes from other Sci-Fi fandoms too.
Right on!
I absolutely enjoyed this ENTIRE VIDEO! Please keep this up you guys are amazing. I really appreciate the hard work you guys put in and I love the whole process in this one video. Some youtubers feel the need to cut EVERYTHING out with only a few seconds of explaining and even fewer of actually SHOWING what their doing.
Let's call this the Impact Mark 1
How do you guys not have millions of subscribers. This is about the coolest costume design I have seen. So interesting and informative. A savant in your craft.
I’m amazed that we still get new subscribers every day-it’s so awesome! Glad you liked the build!
Our favorate Con (so far) is Chupacabracon in Round Rock. Its a Tabletop game con that hopefully we are going to start cosplaying at next year. And a new one opening up in New Braunfels called Game On next year.
My favorite con is RTX (Rooster Teeth Expo) held in Austin, Texas. When I went to RTX 2017, it changed my view of cons and I have been going there for the last 3 years. I have met many friends and can't wait to see them at RTX 2020!
You're my hero!
I love TerrifiCon the Convention we have here in Connecticut. One year I met Val Kilmer and he signed my VHS copy of Batman Forever...a movie that I actually liked.
That's awesome!
This video made me wish that UA-cam had a heart button, you were looking pretty badass there at the end with your armor on, Love your vids.
Thank you so much!
My favorite con is blade show west. Lots of knives, but NO mall ninja stuff! Its awesome!
This is one of my favorite builds of yours, GREAT EFFIN JOB!!!
Thank you so much!
Bill just has that face that works for every costume
Well thank you!
You make it look so easy
Favorite new member of the team, backup sounds truck!
They're sure good at their job.
Bill. You are amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Love that T****i production!
Loving the new format! It's so awesome seeing bigger builds
You're a master of your craft Bill , i love your videos .
it kinda look better in matte blue
dope costume!
Thanks so much! And yeah, it's amazing how much gloss changes the look of something, isn't it?
That last shot of all the armor on was so *epic*
Amazing!
Really enjoying the longer format and larger project scope!!!!
Sweet, we do too!
I REALLY would love to see videos of just the montages with the awsome music and the craft noises. As much as I like the explanations for what you're doing, I wanna see stuff built!!!
Those videos are super nice and relaxing!
Colossalcon was my first full weekend convention that I attended. (Literally a pool party or beach con) and I've made friends and memories at the con. But truly Anime Expo or AX was the biggest and probably the most insane convention for me. I plan to try to go again soon. Dragoncon literally looks fun and I want to bring my "A" game cosplays next year.
Colossalcon looks like such a fun, clever convention! I love the idea of designing a character version to fit an environment, like the beach pool vibe.
Ipt is worth it and there is a rumored third Colossalcon in the making for Texas. There is also the Colossalcon Cruise.
DUDE, THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!
Thanks so much! I'm pretty stoked about it :D
@@punishedprops I'm thinking about doing armour designs myself...should be fun
This has been one of my favorite builds! I especially love being blown away by simple ideas and concepts creating high quality finishes and effects. Great work as always!!
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for putting everything in the description! I see something I like, I just look there. Thank you!
Dang it bill, you’ve got me inspired again. Once again you’ve done an excellent build.
Woohoo! Thanks so much!
Punished Props Academy keep up the quality work. I’m enjoying it.
I like the idea of snaps as a pivoting attachment. It would be cool to use that for gauntlet lanes or helmet visors.
Ooh yeah!
Favorite con is def salt lake fanx! Its so fun and is so good about not shaming anyone for their costumes!
That's wonderful!
