The reason Andre didn't like Sheik is because some of the jobbers in the New York area were had full time jobs and the made money on the side wrestling. Sheik was told not to be stiff with the talent but he hurt them on purpose anyway. Andre found out and taught him a lesson. If you don't believe me look up Bobby heenan talking about the situation

Not really true. There's plenty of shoots on here about guys who got on well with him. it was a different era back then anyway. Men were more resilient.
First time I’ve heard of this. Gotta love old wrestlers stories which bears little resemblance to the truth. And Jake Robert and Ax are near the top of the list. No other wrestler has ever even hinted that Studd got beaten up by Andre and I doubt he could based on Andre’s physical deterioration by the mid 80s. Bundy stated that Studd kissed Andre’s ass and Don Muraco (who is always a straight shooter and was there in the locker room the whole time) said it was news to him that Andre didn’t like Studd. If Andre hated Studd that much then there is no way he would’ve agreed to let Studd cut his hair for an angle. And Studd never stopped entering over the top rope during his entire WWF run. You figure he would’ve stopped if Andre gave him a beat down over it. Andre was in no condition to beat on anybody, he could barely keep his balance by 1985. He backed down from a shoot fight in the ring with a Japanese wrestler who was literally half his size in the mid 80’s. And there’s the infamous confrontation with Bad News Brown where Andre also backed down.
I've heard at least 3 other wrestlers say andre hated studd and that studd ran out of a building. Vince Macman says it on a documentary about andre. From what all the old school guys say andre was an asshole
I've heard other wrestlers talk about this during shoot interviews. None of the people that we grew up watching were perfect. Everyone of them did things that we wouldn't approve of. It's too bad that Andre is not here to tell his side of the story. That would be interesting.
I was going to give a serious reply but the more of your comment I read, the more it become clearer you haven't got a damn clue about professional wrestling 🤣
If you're going against Andre, you can't give him what he wants. Studd had to step over the top rope. He's going to do that against everyone but Andre? No.
I get why Iron Sheik, Randy Savage or even Jake the Snake wouldn’t fight back. But, Big John Studd was big enough to inflict damage on Andre. Bad News Brown, Jake and Kamala all standing up to Andre stopped the hazing. I don’t care how big you are a man John Stud’s size hits me up with a potato your gonna see doubles!
You gotta be kidding me!! Be cordial enough to step under the top rope!?? It’s Andre’s gimmick! Boo hoo cupcake! I personally loved the Big John Studd/Andre the Giant feud! John Studd was a great antagonist - stating he was the real giant of professional wrestling, stepping over the top rope. Also, declaring that he’s never been body slammed! We all wanted Andre to get him!! No doubt, this feud generated a lot of money!
Depending on when the heat between the two started, the ropes thing seems kind of childish. Studd is a heel; he should be stepping over the top rope as a big middle finger to babyface Andre. That logic still works with the dynamics switched between them; babyface Studd is sticking it to heel-Andre. Now I don't think it's a good idea to insult Andre by claiming that you're going to replace him as the one true Giant. I'm no doctor, but if the Lymphoma hadn't ended his life the growth hormones would have done the trick.
Andre was a bully and he beat the shit out of anyone he didn’t like. Very unprofessional regardless of the reasons and the guy should’ve been fired for it. Because the number one rule in the ring is you are trusting your opponent to take care of you. And what Andre did was the exact opposite. If you have a problem with someone you man to man talk to them and settle it. Not going into the ring and going into business for yourself. Which in my opinion, Andre was overrated anyway.
Wasn't it Bundy who said Vince told John to step over the top rope. Bundy said John did nothing but kiss Andre's butt. Odd how you get completely different stories from two different guys.
Andre hated Studd because John Studd was the true giant of wrestling. You didn't see Andre putting up money daring people to bodyslam did you because he knew 12 guys from the back would come out and slam him. (of course this is satire).
The stuff with Andre hating Studd is just petty! I get Andre is THEE GIANT, but Andre should realize that Studd was there as his rival. Plus Studd was such a nice guy. I love Andre ,but i also love Big John Studd, snd Andre hating some people over petty crap upsets me
Stepping over the rope thing I feel is bullshit, Only because when Andre wrestled in matches with Ernie Ladd, Well Ernie stepped over the top rope too, Andre didn't seem to care but when John Studd did it, Andre had an issue with it? Doesn't make sense to me.
Funny thing, Andre would do anything for anybody if it was right for business. How about that? Lovely stuff. Doink beat Bret at a house show, yes sir. Yes indeed. The Nastys were shooters, shooting on many jobbers. Elizabeth and Sherri were to have a program. That got nixed. HHH wants Stephanie’s inheritance. Shawn took out a jobber after a botched crescent kick. Aurelian Smith Jr caught a jobber dancing to his theme backstage and went straight to Vince, citing disrespect on the jobbers part. That jobber had to explain and apologise to Smith Jr. Warrior overheard and some believe this is why he had beef with Jake.

Cause "The Boss" Vince was telling go over the rope.
But "Da Boss" Andre was telling him NO.
Either way he was screwed.....lol
How do you know?
Put Bam Bam on that list
Andre hated most other large men. Bobby Heenan confirmed that in his book, and Bundy said he had his problems with him too.
Undertaker said a year or two ago, "He liked me, thank God."
From what I gather, André disliked big man who were pricks.
Andre liked one man gang. But one man gang was smart enough to treat Andre with much respect. @@Halbared
Andre was insecure because he was a shoot 6’10” but was billed as 7’4” or 7’5” so he was fiercely protective of wrestling other people who exposed his actual height.
Well by the time Mark was getting his feet wet in the company, Andre was one foot out the door.
True. Shame we didn't get to see much of him after he turned babyface again. I don't recall anything except getting injured by Earthquake and then returning to be in the Bushwacker's corner at Summerslam '91.
According to Jake Roberts, the two of them were friends.
Does anybody know if Bill has written a book?
Bad news Brown is the only 1 I heard that stood up to Andre and Andre didn't want that smoke.
Andre wanted the smoke with Akira Maeda in 86 in New Japan
Maeda, a Karl Gotch trained shooter, gave him all the smoke and kicked his legs out from under him and while Andre was lying helpless on his back was going to cripple him by breaking a limb...or two when Kantaro Hoshino one of the few people Maeda would listen too interceded and prevented him from seriously injuring Andre further
When Andre went heel and they brought in Studd as the face for a complete turnaround, Andre did sell quite a bit for Studd then.
Classy guy. Been classy for decades..
Jake got pissed once yelled at him in the dressing room and all the agents left. Andre smiled at Jake and said we are good boss. Jack lanza and pat thought he was going to kick Jake's ass they all didn't want to be in the dressing room until they found out nothing happened. Jake had said that on his pod cast in which everyone can check out the snake pit pod cast.
Andre was catered too much. He thought he could go around trading people real bad with no consequences and he could.
Bad news Brown was about to teach him a lesson
@@Am71919 Bad News didnt teach him shit. That is a story that is very embellished. Bad News and his Judo were not going to do anything to Andre. If the Iron Shiek and his amatuer wrestling ability and time as a bodyguard for whoever it was in Iran were zero match for Andre, Bad News wasn't going to do anything.
@@deebo1103 bad news Brown was always strapped so it's Andre that wasn't going to do anything, and the iron shieks amateur wrestling days were 20 years before he even met Andre the Giant in the WWF, the iron sheik wasn't exactly the youngest most in shape guy by the 80's, Andre only messed with certain people, he never crossed Rick rude, Hercules, Haku, Race, dynamite or Orndorf, you know why, because he knew those guys would dispose of him, he only messed with people he knew wouldn't fight back for fear of losing their job, Michael Hayes and Jimmy Garvin got in his face and he went crying to vince and they got fired, he was nothing more than an oversized punk, it takes a real coward to use your size to push other people around

lol, i forget which wrestler was telling that story but I know that was about macho man, lolol
@@LightningDaemon yeah it was and tbh i cant blame Andre
I always thought the BJS over the top rope was a work disrespect to Andre. Part of the “Real Giant” feud.
Ernie Ladd used to step over the top rope and even in his matches with Andre. I never heard of Andre and Ernie having any issues
Who knew Andre could be a bully in the ring?
The thing about the stepping over the top rope - Big John did that in every match he had. To not do it when he faced Andre might have been respectful to the Giant, but it would have been weird. Him not doing it after years of doing it....I think Andre was a little petty there IMO.
Andre was a great and gentle guy. If he didn't like you, he had a reason.
As Phoebe once said: THIS IS BEAND NEW INFORMATION!!
Big John was a giant too.
Hating on Big John Stud for stepping over the top rope is just petty.
It's crazy. Andre is extremely tainted to me after these years of listening to what was happening behind the scenes. Man was a bully.
exactly
Oh you Pansy!
John Studd DESERVED to get beat up if he disrespected Andre. I stand with Andre 100% on this subject
You don't know enough to judge. All you have is hearsay from people who have made their living lying their asses off. Maybe it would be simpler to think of the wrestlers you watched as neither "real" heroes nor "real" villains.
He got told by bad news brown and apologised. Sheik was a bad ass. I’m not having Andre was a hard man
There is a video of Andre beating the hell out of The Sheik at a house show.
Andre vs Studd in a fight. I'll take Studd all day!!
Jack has nothing but great things to say about André.
Thank God someone is gettthese guys storiee
Andre wasn’t even 7’4” he was 7 ft if that Giant Gonzales and Amos and The Great Kali were all taller than him
And and your point is?
That’s the point idiot he wasn’t as tall as they say Karen
Fun fact there was an one man Andre afraid and it was Haku
Andre the Giant felt that just because he was the giant among men he had anyone’s number regardless of age or size.

Akira Maeda proved Andre wrong
Put ax and smash in the hall of fame
He Said: he didn’t Like him. Hate is Weak
How do you know?
Just because you are overgrown does not give you the right to fuck with people or there jobs. Feel bad for Andre in his last 6 years of his life must of been horrible the back pain ect but you got to be a good person
It's very hard to come across a story about Andre the Giant where he isn't being an ass hole
for real lol
No, it's not.
@@AJ-xv7ohsure is
@@bannedfreespeech Nope.
Not really true. There's plenty of shoots on here about guys who got on well with him. it was a different era back then anyway. Men were more resilient.
I've heard these stories for years, and I fully believe it's all kayfabe. Of course Studd would disrespect Andre, it's called getting heat.
Someone else made a comment that Andre only crossed certain people, he tried to take liberties with Kamala and Kamala stuck a gun right to his throat
I was going to give a serious reply but the more of your comment I read, the more it become clearer you haven't got a damn clue about professional wrestling 🤣
@AJ-xv7oh Thanks for that. Please elaborate.
So what if John stepped over the top. What a baby Andre was.
Andre didn't mind when Hillbilly Jim stepped over the top rope
@@nelzelpher40I think Hillbilly Jim asked for permission. 🤔 🧐
It’s about stealing gimmicks. A guy’s gimmick was everything back then.
He’s protecting his spot and his gimmick which he has a right to do. Perfectly understandable stance from Andre.
@@annstevens6223 Stepping over the top rope is a gimmick? WTF
If you're going against Andre, you can't give him what he wants. Studd had to step over the top rope. He's going to do that against everyone but Andre? No.
Interesting. That's not how it's usually told.
Brody got dealt with for being a bully.
Andre was a Bully plain and simple
Andre was a bully and he beat the shit out of anyone he didn’t like. Very unprofessional regardless of the reasons and the guy should’ve been fired for it. Because the number one rule in the ring is you are trusting your opponent to take care of you. And what Andre did was the exact opposite. If you have a problem with someone you man to man talk to them and settle it. Not going into the ring and going into business for yourself. Which in my opinion, Andre was overrated anyway.
John studd was awesome
Hmmm, Andre didn't like the Sheik? 🤔
Andre didn’t want anyone else stepping over the top rope as they enter the ring? really? that seems kinda stupid.
John studd complete madness.
Wasn't it Bundy who said Vince told John to step over the top rope. Bundy said John did nothing but kiss Andre's butt. Odd how you get completely different stories from two different guys.
But johns son .said they was once close
This seems like kayfabe. We don't have any comments from Big John Stud on this.
Because it was pre-internet and guys didn't "shoot" or do out of character interviews back in the day.
But the feud was about who was the real giant. @@mac888spectral7
I love Andre ,but i also love Big John Studd, snd Andre hating some people over petty crap upsets me
Watch the entire video. John Studd DESERVED to get beat up if he disrespected Andre. I stand with Andre 100% on this subject
Stepping over the rope thing I feel is bullshit, Only because when Andre wrestled in matches with Ernie Ladd, Well Ernie stepped over the top rope too, Andre didn't seem to care but when John Studd did it, Andre had an issue with it? Doesn't make sense to me.
There is a big difference between Ladd and Studd in star power and so on. Maybe it's that simple.
If he hated Studd so much why did he work with him so much for years
The same reason plenty of guys hated each other but did business anyway. Money.
For so MANY** years, not for so much years.
Big john. Coming into the ring. Over the top rope. Pissed off andre. 🤣👋
I thought Andre liked Jake Roberts.
