Bill is a legend. Very grateful for his stories. He's consistent, and brilliant. One of the best of the best, him and Barry both.
Bill think Montreal was a work so he's actually pretty dumb.
@@emerhanlon6282 Montreal WAS a work, ya silly mark.
@@barfo281 imagine being so slow that you can't separate reality from fiction. You poor thing.
@@emerhanlon6282 You just described yourself, silly mark. It's all scripted, ya silly mark.
He seems so down to earth. Im glad he is still around to tell those stories.
Wicked nice guy. Met him and smash at an autograph signing in massachusetts. Gave me a free autograph picture for my dying friend and spent about 20 minutes talking with me after. Unfortunately my friend never got to see the autograph and the note they wrote because the doctors put my friend in a coma before I could get to the hospital and he passed shortly after.
So sorry to hear this
That's terrible, heard Demolition are great human beings
I'm sorry man. That SUCKS, but you were a loyal friend until the end.
Great to see Bill Eadie on the podcast. Looking forward to the complete interview. Masked Superstar, Demolition, and the Super Machine, all great. And his close relationship with Andre .
I always thought it was so unfortunate that the WWF/E did their best to get rid of Bill Eadie because they thought he was too unhealthy. When we flash forward 30 years, he is still alive and people much younger than him have been gone for years.
That’s true
We also know that Vince kept trying to bury Macho Man for "being too old".... Even at a time when the company was starting to struggle (early 90's).
@@ryanjacobson2508I'm not sure that's why Vince tried to bury the Macho Man if you know what I'm saying
Stephanie ???
@@madtownangleri heard that he had a fetish for rimming an underage Stephanie. Not sure how true it is but must have tasted nice as he did it more than once.
One day Linda walked in on him performing it. His reaction? He asked if he could rim her at the same time.
Vince arrived with a shotgun and chased Savage out.
They had an understanding where Vince wouldn't reveal the rimming story, if Savage wouldn't leak the video recordings of him doing it.
Again, this is all rumors.
I hope WWE puts Demolition in the HOF
I guarantee they don't do it until after Bill passes away because Vince sucks that way. It's a crying shame that they aren't already inducted. Should've happened years ago at this point.
No way!! They sued Vinny a few years back. None of those guys that sued are in
@@JohnnyDouchbag-nr5yfYou are probably talking about a specific lawsuit but Jesse Ventura sued WWE, won and still got inducted into the Hall of Fame.
@@JohnnyDouchbag-nr5yfWarrior, Bret and Bruno got in but Demolition can't?
Definitely deserved to be in hof
You know you’re the ultimate pro wrestler when you’re having a serious heart attack and being taken away and you’re wondering what the gimmick is and if the gurney is solid! …and thinking: guess I better let Vince know….
One of the best interviews if not the best from his generation. Talk about a man that’s seen it all in this business lol
I always like Bill Eadie’s interviews. Such an intelligent guy with such a gentle voice but he is HUGELY respected in the business. Whenever he and Barry do interviews together, Barry always defers to him and that’s really saying something when you consider everything that Barry did in wrestling.
Barry always acts like he's Bill's b*tch. Really annoys me. Even as a kid I noticed that when the Demolition lost it was usually Barry taking the fall.
@@NateNizzle That's out of respect to Bill. The guy had a storied career long before he joined Demolition. I love Barry and respect his talent but I don't think he has a problem letting Bill be the boss.
@@NateNizzleyour poor upbringing is showing.
Ax was the best masked wrestler when he was the Masked Superstar! What a great technical wrestler
Agreed
Wasn’t he one of the Machines when Andre The Giant came back masked?
@@willieholmes1483Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan.
@@AgentJamesLee, one sounded like Piper, but I don’t think the other was Hogan.
80's tag team wrestling was awesome. Demolition, LOD, the Rockers, Powers of Pain, the Killer Bees, the Heart Foundation and a few more I can't think of
Bulldogs, usa express
Fabulous Rougeau brothers, Powers of Pain, the Rockers, Orient Express, Twin Towers ❤
@@slavaukraini1991 dream team
Bulldogs, Strikeforce, Midnight Express, Skyscrapers 80s tag scene was amazing in 2 promotions.
Natural Disasters/Bushwackerz
I though adding Crush was not all bad. It gave Bill a chance to transition out a little more, and storyline wise allowed them to do the Freebird gimmick of using 2 of the 3 in tag team matches.
Loved Crush in Demolition also. Don't forget he would not have never been called Crush if not for joining Demolition
I think it worked until around SummerSlam 90. After that, they really seemed to just want to have LOD conquer Demolition and send them off to obscurity.
A lot of fans liked the Demos more.
If Demolition is ever in the HOF, is it with or without Crush?
@@alanguagesthey were bigger without him but then again, Brian Adams was one of Undertaker’s boys soooo…
@@alanguagesI say all 3. Yeah it doesn't seem like Crush added anything that is Hall of Fame level but fact is he was there so he shouldn't be denied
James was sweatin for a minute at the end there thinking Bill was talking about him jumping ahead lol
When i first started watching as a little kid he was the Masked Superstar. Even though he was a heel i still liked him. He was that good
He sure was intense great promos great worker his feuds with Tommy Rich Bob Backlund Tatsumi Fujinami and Antonio Inoki special mention 90 minute matches with Blackjack Mulligan
I remember back then his finisher was a suplex from the second turnbuckle and it was unheard of. How times have changed
Amazing story!!! Demolition for HOF. Bill Eadie has contributed more to wrasslin then any other non hall of famer he took 2 gimmicks to the top!!
Him and lex Luger probably top two non hall of famers!!!

@@chrisvietro4360 yep
@@gothard5 agreed
@@chrisvietro4360100% King Kong Bundy as well
Bill Eadie is such a well spoken, intelligent, and, kind man. And The Masked Superstar was my favorite wrestler (yeah, Im so old I remember when rainbows were black and white). Looking forward to the entire interview.
He's a calm and compelling in how he explains things. Really cool interview.
its the damndest thing when one just tells the truth as to what happened isnt it?
His Masked Superstar promos were a lot like that as well. He was a little more animated as Ax
Her comes the Axe, here comes the Smasher, their Demolition a walking Disaster, Pain is their middle name
Pain and destruction.
From the best era of ring entrance music. I have that album.
Demolition were my favs back in the day but it just wasn’t the same when they added Crush. They should have just called it a day there and then. You can’t simply cant replace teams like this
Agreed
Bill is the nicest guy I worked with during my career
One of my first indie shows I did ,ax was the name on the card … such a cool guy
@@deadbrothers8348 i ran shows and booked him. Look up his matches with King Kong Bundy and Matt Borne
Had a lengthy chat with him at a convention in London really nice down to earth guy glad he’s doing well
Demolition were one of the best tag teams in history and The Masked Superstar was amazing too. So underrated. Should be in the HOF.
When he was Masked Superstar in JCP, he was VICIOUS
For such an aggressive beast in the ring, it always surprises me just how softly spoken and likable Bill is
Nothing but love for brother Bill we share the same first name what a legend❤
The fact that demolition wasnt inducted into the wwe hof is a major slap in the face. I knownthey had that lawsuit in 2016, but it doesnt change the fact that the longest reigning wwf tag champs shouldve been enshrined sooner
yeah, well they made sure to erase that record by having Spew Day hold the belts longer.
Man l loved the Masked Superstar!!! my favorite heel !
Great video. I think you understated the content so much in the title that you've averaged out half of the clickbait titles out there! I think you could safely go with "Demolition Ax describes near death experience?!?"
I met Ax and Smash a few months ago at Tidewater Comic Con, great men.
the scariest wrestler, for me as a kid, returns with the most spiritual story
they should have included him instead of crush in wwf wrestlefest
was the 1989 royal rumble the only time that demolition faced each other?
Bill and Berry were my favorite WWF style team what a nice group of guys
Bill has always been a favorite of mine. Demolition was my favorite tag team growing up and Ax was my guy. I was fortunate enough to meet Bill last March at a signing. The man is such a class act and probably the nicest wrestler I've ever met. Barry's flight was cancelled because of a snow storm so unfortunately I didn't get to meet Barry. I am forever grateful that I got to chat and get an autograph from Bill as The Masked Superstar. He shared some awesome Andre stories with me and my 9 year old son, as well as some great stories from his time in Japan. Bill is such a class act and I have nothing but respect for him.
bill and barry are both class acts always liked them in and out of the ring, good storytellers and down to earth guys
Ax was always my favorite Demolition guy. Bill seems like a real guy. Super nice and down to earth.
CAN NOT WAIT for the full interview to hit
I don't know why a doctor would have told him that about iodine? It doesn't "store up in your body forever". Ax must have some kind of thyroid disorder. Iodine is essential for thyroid function and most iodine in your body is concentrated there. You pass what you would intake from eating shellfish ...by about 90 percent in your first following urination. Shellfish has only a small amount of iodine, and is handled fine by most people. There's Asian people who live on it, well into ripe old ages. Again...he must have an issue with hyperthyroidism. Probably lived with it undiagnosed for years, when he should have been taking something like levoxyl.
he didnt say it stored in your body forever. he said for a long time.
So glad to see this interview pop up with Demolition Ax from my favorite tag team of all time.
I think I’m the only one who liked demolition as a 3 piece. It was different. Not the first ever in wrestling, but fresh in that time in wwf
a true credit to the business
Funny how the calmest talking wrestlers are the most badass in the ring. Axe absolute legend
As big of a wrestling fan I was, I never realized that one half of Demolition is Crusher Crushev
This is incredible! I watch this channel regularly and immediately previous to this video, I happened to watch a video on Near Death Experiences. Now here is Bill talking about his. What are the odds?😮
"Ax's Out Of The Body Experience" should've been the title of this clip.
That is crazy ! But I am glad you are still with us Superstar Ax !!!! I combined my two favorite gimmicks you had !
When I was a kid Demolition were so awesome. When they came out you knew it was gonna be a good one.
Ah man so glad to see Bill Eadie!!! True legend.
Heard that western Pennsylvania dialect and turns out he’s from Brownsville PA heart of it. That dialect never gets past a seasoned ear like myself.
When I was a little one. Demolition was my favorite tag team. To this day I love their theme and still hum it time to time. 😊
It sounded like he had an ablation. An ablation is a procedure to treat atrial fibrillation
Demolition winning the belts for the 3rd time from Andre and Haku at Wrestlemania 6 was my favourite Demolition moment. I prefer not to remember what happened in the weeks afterwards when they added Crush.
@@Anthony-fk7yn I know right? I loved how Demolition showed emotion at the end of that match, hugged, held up the belts, Ax proclaiming "NUMBER ONE BABY!" as they left. They way they got treated shortly afterwards was a travesty.
@@davidyeend4150maybe because the Road Warriors were making their way in?..
I like how the title is Why Crush Was Added to Demolition and not Ax's amazing out of body experience hahaha
Demolition should of came back and they should be in the Hall of Fame
I always love hearing him talking about wrestling!
The greatest wrestling voice ever!
Title of the video should be "Axe's near death experience" instead.
I gotta do a couple lines of shellfish if this is the trip
I know this channel has distaste for Conrad Thompson and his podcasts. But it was on his podcast with Bruce Prichard that I found a new appreciation for Bill Eadie. I did not realize the rich history that man had as a pro-wrestler.
Mr. Eadie is a frigging legend!!! The masked superstar is my favorite character!!!!
Iodine doesn't accumulate over time, some is absorbed by thyroid and rest is excreted in a few weeks.
It also doesn't create anaphylaxis or anaphlactic shock when you over do it.
I'd love to do a line or some shellfish with Ax back in the day
Great interview with one of the true gentlemen of wrestling 👏
One of the best tag team gimmicks ever. They were the model many others tried to emulate for years afterwards. Similar to Hawk and Animal's Road Warriors idea.
What a story!
So glad you are still with us 🙂
Wow, I didn't know Ax had an out-of-body experience.
Eadie is the man! Looking amazing for 75! God bless, sir
One of the best and most professional guys I ever worked with
Long overdue recognition from WWE Hall of Fame this man is a Legend!! THE greatest masked wrestler in New Japan Georgia AWA and WWF
Demolition is the best tag team in WWE history
Eadie going one interview without bringing up his seafood allergy 😮
Wow, never knew that there was a serious reason for why he was no longer in the role. Glad to see that he is still with us.
Masked Superstar was my fav wrestler
"We are all stars" - Brian Cox
Very soft spoken person.
I remember as a youngster, I was happy to see Crush added to Demolition. They were my favorite tag team and he seemed like he had potential. It really messed up the chemistry, though, and they were never the same. It's a shame because they were my favorite tag team other than the British Bulldogs.
Seeing three members of demolition was my first introduction to "the freebird rule" where any two man combination could defend the tag titles. I liked that. I just wish that version of demolition could have had more legs in 1990
I loved Demolition they were great back in the 80s loved their entrances music to
I was there for his last match in Pittsburgh for KSWA wrestling. Super nice guy!
Bill Eadie is a true pro. He's my favorite all time Professional Wrestler!!! As the Masked Superstar, he could wrestle scientific, mat wrestling, brawl, " over the top" heel. Very articulate on the mic...a former High School teacher and Coach, you can tell he's intelligent. He had strength, knowledge, and a submission hold.
Bill is an amazing storyteller and a great guy. I’ve had the pleasure of having several dinners and time with him. Masked Superstar was my favorite heel in Mid Atlantic!!!!
He went from selling weapons to selling insurances. Good man. R.I.P.
He’s still alive bruh
Wtf?
@@FatLadyKiller he means Crush
Orange Crush
Well, that got deep.
Demolition should be in every wrestling Hall of Fame there is. As should Bill Eadie as a singles wrestler.
Remember Ax vs Smash Royal Rumble 😆
Personally I didn't know that about shell fish...
And I love shell fish
Iodine must have built up in his system over the years he had toxic levels there he's very lucky that's as close as you wanna get any closer and you're crossing over
A favorite always, especially as Masked Superstar.
Joe Rogan: "thats crazy, man... Have you ever done DMT🤨🤔??"
Ever shot an elk with an arrow?
Ax went to independent promotions with the Demolition Gimmick and teamed with 2 different guys as Blast but it did not last long.
Masked Superstar! I was a big fan of him and Super Destroyer in GCW.
Wow that was Powerful ✌️♥️
Can you get Tully Blanchard or terry Gibbs or Jim powers?
Demolition, best tag team ever, one of the first, if not thee, teams to have a personalized theme with lyrics
As soon as he started describing this, it immediately sounded like severe allergic reaction to the shellfish. I had the same with nuts. Nearly all the same symptoms. Not quite as severe.
My all time favorite, Bill Eadie!
Bill, Harley, and LA Knight are my favorites.
When Crush was added, I was crushed because AX was my absolute favorite whan I was a kid. I think I was 14 or 15 when that happened. I'm glad he survived though!
WHAT A GENTLEMAN
My boy The MASKED SUPERSTAR AX BIG BILL.
this is similar to lucid dreaming when your brain is caught between sleep and awake. its the same thing when oxygen is getting cut off to your brain you have a out of body experience. the light you see is just the effects of that as well
I always thought that Vince should have ran with 3 man tag teams for a while. What a lost opportunity. I remember the handicap match of Demolition v Hart Foundation. It would have been awesome with either Owen Hart or Johnny Smith as the 3rd Hart Foundation member!
The great irony is that at Survivor Seris 1990 Bill was being written out and taken easy on, yet only he and Barry survive from that match.
Makes me think of that really cool animated Royal Rumble poster from early 90s and realize that most of the guys on the poster are gone today
Monday, May 21,1990 Demolition Smash May 23,1990i is when Ax got ill during Demolition vs Hart Foundation Fued
Where's the full interview. Demolition, Ax & Smash the originals were a great tag team. Just like Shemus. Any superstar that had to be in the ring with them. Were titled to a beatdown .👍👍👍
Good Stuff.
Ohh man his story gave me chills
I had never heard this level of detail to the story of Bill Eadie's alergic reaction to the shellfish and how close he came to dying. I liked Crush being added to the group, but I would have kept Ax there as well. Then once Ax recovered, I would have had Demolition turn on Crush and kick him out of the group for being the "weak" link. Demolition should have been booked stronger at the end of 1990 and in 1991. Wrestlemania 7 should have been the first match of Ax and Smash Vs Road Warriors Animal and Hawk
By WM7 it was obvious the LOD vs Demolition feud didn't work , so no point having that match....but I was annoyed Demolition lost to that unknown Japanese tag team in WM7
@@jonblazeinc Thats because they pulled the trigger too soon and the match was exposed. It was one of the few times Demolition had a poor match with any team. LOD couldnt work worth a damn and it didn't work in New York. WM7 should have been the time for Demolition to drop the belts to LOD if they were going to do it.
@@deebo1103 how could Demolition drop the belts? They never had no belts lol....Hart Foundation were the champs going into WM 7 and lost them to Nasty Boys ...obviously HF won them off Demolition in the best of 3 falls match at Summerslam 90
@jonblazeinc Demolition didn't need to drop the belts to HF at Summerslam 1990. Vince was pushing Demolition out of the way and thats why they lost when they were still clearly the number one team there. Id have had them keep the belts and have the LOD work up to beating them at WM7 and have everything mean something instead of the watered down bs we got.
@daviddittmer1103 disagree, it was right for HF to be tag team champs again as been 3 years since they last held the belts, also I believe Vince wanted to run with Bret becoming a solo star a year later so ideal last run as tag team for HF ....in between Summerslam 90 and WM7 we had a chance to see the LOD/Demolition feud and clearly didn't work because of Demolition now being 3 man tag team and LOD drafting in Ultimate Warrior as 3rd tag member which was ridiculous considering Warrior was still WWF champ during these matches ....the time was right to end Demolition and Hart Foundation after WM7
