Thanks Christine it was a great weekend that everyone seemed to enjoy, the video gives a little taste of what went on. Some of the cars present, such as those racing Le Mans Tigers are unique but all of them are special to their owners. You don’t often get 150+ all together at the same time.
Most of them would be enormously improved by a custom re-spray.The Alpine/Tiger stock factory colours apart from Forest Green have never done them any favours.Tinted shades and Pearlescent/Metallic finishes make a huge difference.I saw one in Aston Martin Green recently which looked absolutely stunning.
Series III cars often had metallic finishes. I always thought that they should have done a primrose yellow and I've seen a couple of lovely metallic silver or gunmetal cars but like all these things beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Tony, all Series III had the big fins. The cut down fins arrived with the Series IV. You may find this video interesting. Sunbeam Alpine: The Essential Buyer's Guide ua-cam.com/video/xoAjQPs5L4o/v-deo.html
If anybody knows the whereabouts of a Sunbeam Alpine Reg No CPG 624B Chassis no B9403288 GT ODHRO was Blue with wire wheels and O/D I would be very greatful for any info . The car was stolen from me and ended up at the A44 Garage in Worcester , there followed an extensive legal wrangle which due to costs at the time meant I could not progress with the action to recover . Car was then disposed of as the Garage owner retired and I lost touch with the car I have the Documents in my name ,Title to the car is with me Nobody has any permission to work on it nor use it . I would be able to offer a substantial reward for the recovery of the car .
Jonathan, the Government website shows the car not being taxed since 1982. If it was stolen perhaps it has been broken up for parts. Very sad. They are truly lovely cars, why not look to get another one. Best Wishes.
@@TheSunbeamAlpineChannel Hi I already have 1 x series 5 and 1 x series 2 that I have had both for 40 years and they are in daily use The series 4 that was stolen was a great spec car that I had planned for my next resto .and if there was a chance that it still existed , I would be willing to offer a £500 reward for information of its whereabouts
Credit for the owners and the club for keeping the passion going! All the best for your future endeavours
Hopefully for many years to come Suj.
I was to young to appreciate what I had with my series 4, and I really miss mine to this day.
Whichever Series you get, they are a delightful car. Treat yourself and get another one!
Beautiful cars a credit to their owners and one of my favourite cars. Bob
Thanks for your kind comment Bob. It sounds like you should get yourself an Alpine.
What a great video. Fantastic to see so many of the beautiful little Alpines together.
