If you're interested in the Redcat Gen8 decal set, I have a limited amount for sale on my Etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/1365492451/vinyl-graphic-gen-8-v2-scout-body
I just got a cricut , just started playing around with it. The possibilities within the RC hobby are endless . I would be interested in seeing a video on making the stickers, thanks for your videos.
Literally was just in the shop thinking “ for my paint scheme I will need to make stencils out sticker sheets” hop on UA-cam and walla. When your subscriptions are Top Quality Thanks Mrs. RC 👩
Tamiya makes full sheets of "masking tape".. I've found that they work GREAT for doing just that. They come in a pack of 5 for 7 or 8 bucks, and measure around 9.5" x 7" a piece. Cut 'em by hand, or on a "plotter" like in the vid. Hope it helps ;)
You are good at this! Silhouette should pay you to use your tutorial video in addition to their manual, your tutorial is much better. And your vinyl decals on the car make the car look so good, I will not be surprised if a RC-car company hire you to make decals for their cars! Looking forward to your next video! Cheers.
I picked up a 3d printer to print my own scale items for my crawlers, Being able to perfectly cut decals made by me would be so sick, it's totally going on the list! Thank you!
Great vid!!! I'm a tech teacher at a middle school where my students make decals, street signs, and t shirts using a Roland cutter. They love it! I use it to make how to videos for them, but ironically make the graphics to fit on my rigs. Would love to see a printer/cutter to make multicolor decals/stickers.
Thank you for posting (even though I am yet to watch it) this will save us guys in sign shops telling people why small size graphics are not worth our time to begin with with what we have to charge......
An interesting machine. I use the Cricut but I can see the benefits of this one and it’s design tool. They do a great job for paint masks as you mentioned.
Hi very cool video - I didn't even know you could buy such a cool machine. I'm into Mini-Z RC and as you properly know the body's of the cars is pretty small. I've been searching ALOT for all the sponser and logo decals that's typically on for example LeMans cars that I could buy. But know I can make them myself with this. But before I start buying anything I was wondering what your experience is with the thickness of the paper you print the stickers on. I'm asking because Mini-Z car bodys need to be painted and have the stickers applied on the outside of the car, and if the sticker paper is too thick, it's not going to look great on the body's for such small RC body's.. Could you share your experience and tips on that? Thanks again for the cool and informative videos
Have you heard any buzz about a soon coming Axe Edition V2 of the Redcat Racing Gen 8 Axe Edition? I called them yesterday and inquired about why nobody appears to have any Gen 8 Axe Edition kits. They informed me I can get one from them. When I asked if they're working on a new model of the axe edition, he expressed he can't say yes or no, but he also hinted I may want to wait a little because their might be a V2 coming soon with huge improvements. I tried really hard to get more information on it, but he was only allowed to hunt to the strong possibility of it coming very soon, leaving off by saying to me the Axe Edition is a great RC truck I'll be very happy with, but also stating I'd be very happy with either truck (either being the Axe V1 or the Axe V2). I'm dying to know more. BTW, I also asked if said vehicle was about to be released, would it be more expensive or the same price as the current Axe Edition, and the answer was "The same price".
Hello ' Great job but I have only one question can I make my own decals , Using this silhouette cameo 4 You know using The water slide decal white or clear decal paper size for scale models like 1/72 scale or what is the best silhouette cameo 4 machine to use please let me know trying to find out which one to buy for making my own water slide decals white or clear paper sheets
Great video. I had tried playing with the software before and got frustrated. This helped a ton! How easy do you find it to find graphics you like and if needed go about buying the rights to use them?
I do have a preference question, I commented on a previous video about me making a decision on which trx4 chassis I'd purchase, but it seems the scout gen8 v2 is making a statement. Which would you choose over the other and why, and some plus and minus in your opinion. Love the detail in your videos btw!
If budget is a consideration I'd get this one for sure. I'm really happy with my Gen8. But with the TRX-4 platform you can pick which diffs you want locked/unlocked, which is nice. It feels like higher quality plastics as well, with a decent amount of body options. I think you'd be happy with either.
Awesome! Do you know anyone who sells mountain graphics like this for rc vehicles? I don't really want to buy the equipment but really would like to apply graphics like that to my Axial Jeep Gladiator
Yep I cut the stickers with the silloutte too using the print and cut feature. You print a design through the software on an inkjet printer and it prints markings so that your machine knows where to cut out around the design. For sizing, I just measured the body panels using calipers and made the vinyl pattern a bit bigger than needed. I just trim any overhang with a hobby knife. Hope that helps!
I need graphics for my plastic Ascend D10 kayak. I haven’t been able to find someone to do it and thought maybe I could do it myself if I learn how and the equipment isn’t too expensive. You look and act very familiar. Do you have a brother who also does UA-cam videos?
I have a vinyl cutter however I feel artistically challenged when it comes to designing things to cut. Basic words no probs but trying to draw that mountain Silhouette looks interesting. How do you do it? Software etc?
Just vinyl and craft paper. I know it can also etch on plastic and cut balsa and felt with different blades, as well as do intricate designs with pens, but I haven't tried that yet.
love your videos im new with my cameo 4 and planning on using mostly for rc car stuff and have a question for anybody need some help figuring out how to slant door numbers on rc car, i can figure out slanting letters but maybe some number fonts you cant do this with any help would be appreciated thx jeff
was looking into this for stickers and small vinyl. Cricut had alot of returns latley dunno why. Can i laser print my motive then cut it aswell, few mm out from the edges?

That's awesome. Looks great. Thanks :)
Excellent Girl. I wonder if you could use a touch screen with a Stylo to draw out whatever you want to cut out?
Very nice print upgrade, that do the truck unique! 👏😊

Thanks! I usually search Etsy or design bundles website for .svg vector graphics. Pretty easy to find stuff. Lots of other sites as well
Not sure if I should get this one or the Cricut.
That looks amazing

Hi!
Well explained. Big weeeee.
That awesome... We have a Cricut and it's so handy 👊😎
So cool
Good video.
Did you cutout the stickers with pictures on the silhouette too? How did you determine the exact sizing to fit your truck? Seems very involved!

Have you run other materials with this model cameo?
Just vinyl and craft paper. I know it can also etch on plastic and cut balsa and felt with different blades, as well as do intricate designs with pens, but I haven't tried that yet.
