I'm almost 2 months into my microlocs journey and I do big braids and band when I wash... I end up with about 7 braids each time. The way I minimize frizz is that I braid my hair in my 7 large braids and tie it down with my satin scarf EVERY NIGHT before bed. It also helps to keep them stretched.
Hey! Your locks are looking great. One thing that I have found to help with the frizz is to allow them to dry some in the braids. Due to the cold weather I will sit under the dryer or use a blow dryer on cool setting to knock off some of that moisture. I think that just like when we were a loose natural it will frizz up was it dries but keeping it braided will help tame the frizz. I hope this helps.
Frizz does reach an all time high closer to the year mark (or at least mine did). However, I will say with time frizz does reduce(I'm almost 2 years). With fine hair I don't think mine will ever be zero. Oh When my locs look stiff I spray aloe vera juice on them and it refreshes them.
I truly appreciate the encouragement at the end of the video. It’s been rough for me and I’m almost 4 months in (3/21) and I’m trying to hang in there. Your hair is thriving and looks amazing! Go ahead Soror with your bad self! lol
I started my install on April 12 and finished on the 14th. And so far I am loving them. They are scalpy in the front, but less than what I thought. Can't wait to see what they look like 6 months in.
Looking good, I'm going on 5wks I have done my first wash and retie. I love my locks and yes there are times I'm not in love with my hair I have fine low density hair so I love it when its old trusting the process.
Hi! Your year went by super fast and your locs are gorgeous! I'm four months into my SL journey and I have a bit of frizz going on....I think I'll try foam closer to my one year anniversary. Thanks for this video ❤❤❤
Yes, I use a foam setting lotion and I do braid outs. I suffer from frizz to buy in feeling that the thinness of my hair and the fact I'm not seeing swelling I feel the frizz is giving me volume.
I’m 6 months in and I feel super frizzy too. Between the frizz and the shrinkage! Lawddd! I love my babies tho! I know it will settle down at some point.
Yours really look good. I’m 17 weeks in and I’m still not feeling mine...thin hair and it’s locking from the root instead of the ends..😩 But I do see progress from day one until now, so like you said...I’m trusting the process.
I watched this when it first came, but I wasn't experiencing frizz then. I'm 1 year and 4 months in and starting to see a lot a frizz. I'll talk to my loctician about trying foam
I just got sister lock installed in half my head I’m freaking out having panic attacks should I stop and remove them?? I need to know by tomarrow 2:30 am my appointment to finish is 9am

What kind of aloe Vera juice do you use?

Wow! It’s thicken up so nicely! I want to get micro locs but I was a little nervous because I don’t want it to look scalpy.
Wow I just binge watched all your videos.
I am only 2 weeks in my journey.
Enjoy your journey!!

Thanks for the video! I appreciate the useful information!
Your hair doesn’t seem very frizzy to me. Also, frizz adds volume, why combat it? I actually think it’s part of the beauty of locs.

I've been doing it just like you lol, I wash my hair with around 10 braids (10.5 months in)
Girl your hair has grown so much 💕. Did the foam make your locs stiff?
I just got sister lock installed in half my head I’m freaking out having panic attacks should I stop and remove them?? I need to know by tomarrow 2:30 am my appointment to finish is 9am
I'm so lazy i braid and band in 4 sections, but my hair is more coarse than fine, so it's not really prone to frizz.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Embrace the frizz they say lol
Come thru length!!
Y’all looking pretty stiff and it’s the length for me ☺️
