    Happy New Year!!! Glad to see you back! As always, your hair is gorgeous.❤ You’ve definitely motivated me to try out self retie. I’m so scared though 🤣

    I have d.i.y micro locs(360). I also do my own reties(11hrs straight)and have cut them for a more even look. I'll be 4 years in February and loving it! This is the best decision I've made for my hair. Btw, you did a great job, and it's grown back so fast.

      Yaass!! I love the DIY girls! Y’all are truly skilled. I probably would’ve went that route if j had been more confident in my skills lol.

    Hey Elle!!! Your locs are just flourishing! Great job on your retie. I’d love to learn how to do my own cause you never know what may happen, plus this $150 every 6 weeks, whew! I could use that for something else!!

      Hopefully this helped. Just take your time and don't get frustrated with the time 😊

    I don't believe we need to make the re-tieing process complicated. The whole mirror etc aren't needed (if wanted sure), but not needed. I get all my tools, make myself comfortable, put on a show and get to it. Totally works.

    Elle! Welcome Back!! You might "leave and come back" but we're here for you when you come back and post!! 😊🧡 You were one of my inspos before I got Sisterlocks. I've been doing my own reties since July 2024 just before my 2yr anniversary. It's no joke frfr 😅 - it's been a loc care learning process, but I love that I can really know what's going on with my hair even if I do mess up on occasion. Still I don't regret doing it myself, plus you after I watched one of your self-retie videos, it gave me courage to try my own reties! 💪

    Hey Nikcole👋🏾! I'm a day-one follower; it's been helpful watching you document your journey the whole way through. When my loctician moved out of state and I couldn't find an affordable replacement, I was inspired by you to start doing my own reties after the 1st year of my installation (it also takes me 3 days-I have a little over 300 locs). I bought the 3-way mirror as well, but it was too tedious trying to watch each rotation as I went, so I ditched it (and the process is so effortless now).
    Your hair is absolutely beautiful, thank you for taking us along in your journey. ❤️

    Hey Elle glad to see you back! Happy new year 🎆 2025. I tried to Retie my 310 Sisterlocs but I created 4 knots. My loctician charged me extra to remove the knots lol. I’m 4yrs Sisterloc’d and want to start my self Retie to save money and take control of my loc maintenance. Your locs look gorgeous and healthy. Did you take a self Retie course or learn via UA-cam University? I like that my loctician can complete my Retie session in 1.5-2 hrs. But if her prices go up again then I may need to learn quickly how to Retie!

    Absolutely beautiful...I've seen your start to now...I've never commented...I'm a woman of a certain age whose hair has thinned....I know your hair was thin when you started but you can not tell...I'm so scared mine will not thicken or "bud" or whatever the sister loc terminology is lol due to the reason it has started thinning...I want to do it so bad but again afraid...again beautiful 🖤🖤🖤

      You can always get a couple test Locs before fully committing. Also, the reason why the locs thicken is because your hair sheds into the loc, and it could get as thick as each individual square. Hope this helps 💕

    Elle!!! Hey girl, your hair is looking so long and pretty. I’ve been with you since the beginning when you were sitting in the loctician chair. And look at you now 😍 January 3rd made 2 years for me and I’m loving them. Do you put any type of oil on your hair? I can’t remember if you mentioned it in your past videos

    • @ElleNikcole
      @ElleNikcole  19 днів тому +1

      I do put oil on my scalp, but I use it sparingly. I mainly spray my hair with water or rose water. As for oil, I honestly need to find a better oil for my scalp, but again, I don’t use it a lot.
