    ...and the job's a good 'un. Looks better; works better and totally agree about taking the extra time and trouble to fit the rubber bushes. Very enjoyable vlog. Thanks and greetings from South Africa.

      Hi and thanks for watching, glad you could join me from such a long way away😅😅
      I'm happy with the way it turned out.

    Looks much better Roger & I think fitting the rubber bushes was a wise decision. Jealous of your shed, I'd love to have a mill & a lathe!

      Don't know why they decided not to use the rubber mounts really.
      I've built the workshop up over years, certainly comes in handy.

    Huge improvement. It looks much more like a Gold Star should.

    That does look much better with the new bracket. Nice improvisation with milling the bracket for the rubber bushes.

      The mod just made sense to me.

    I bought my GoldStar as well on the 1st of March last year and must say , being 6 ft tall its not a problem whatsoever. My bikes in midnight black and i also bought that 3 sticker set but in bright red. I have to say it really makes the bike pop and is so much better than those thin plastic originals.

      Thanks for watching Ian.
      We've both had our 1st anniversary then 🍾🥂 hope you're enjoying yours as much as I am mine.
      Haven't fitted the badges yet but yes, there certainly a big improvement on the little stickers that BSA fit.
      Cheers.

    Excellent job and very clearly presented.
    I love your way of thinking.
    Totally agree with your reasoning on fitting the rubbers.
    I always have the feeling you can only ever buy close to what you want and adjust and modify as required.

    A quick release headlight holder would be a very cool addition to the other great modifications you have made. Give your Gold Star Clubmans Trim! That would be sweet! I knew I would eventually see some excellent modifications to this bike. A performance ECU chip should happen soon. I'm almost ready to buy one.

      More accessories and tuning parts are becoming available now as the number of bikes sold increases which is nice to see, thought its been a long time comming.

    I thought while I was watching you struggle with the screws, why not drop the headlight, which of course you did. I know from experience that that area receives considerable vibration as my headight glass cracked so I can’t imagine why the new bracket comes with solid mountings. I don’t have access to a milling machine so I guess I will just leave my clocks as standard. Thanks for your video I always enjoy you ramblings.

      Thanks for watching Neil, glad you enjoy my offerings.
      I decided to follow the instructions first to see how good they were as that's what most purchasers will do. It soon became clear though that there was an easier way.
      Don't know why they decided to solid mount them when the originals were there for the using.

    Hi totally agree rubber mounted has got to be a lot better must take lots of vibrations out of the clocks as you say it’s having the tools to do it your very lucky to have a pillar drill to do it yourself I am lucky from working on the farm all my life to have a complete wkshop 100 mgrs from my house that I can use when I want but some people are not as fortunate anyway good informative video take care ride safe 👍👋

      Thanks a lot Nicholas.
      Yes, I'm afraid most people buying these would not have the facilities to modify them so would just have to accept the rigid mount
      We should count ourselves lucky that we have the equipment and knowhow.
      Cheers.

    Don't know if i've mentioned it before, BSA has not yet been available in Switz. But good news; as of 24th April, the first dealership has been announced. Unfortunately, it's 1. quite far away, and 2. the only colour available, provisionally, is Red. I do like the red, as my old Lightning was red/chrome, but ever since I saw the first of the new generation in green, I have somehow become fixed on having a green one.
    Anyway, having a dealer in the country, does now mean i'm able to get my leg over one for a test-ride!
    Oh dear, i'm hearing the first negatives here...! The clocks are fitted wrong. Fitting a slanted speedo/rev holder bracket seems to be the obvious thing to do, so why was it not fitted with the tilted one at the factory in the first place? As far as I know, no brand fits speedo/rev clocks flat on their bikes!!
    It might be an idea to contact Moore's to inquire about why they did not use rubber mounting like the factory did..., note to myself, for when or if I decide to change the bracket, that is, should I once again become a Beezer Boy! The result is certainly way better than the original.

    • @old-n-Goldie
      @old-n-Goldie  6 місяців тому +1

      That's good news Steve I'm sure you'll love one when you get out on a test ride.
      I thought Green was the best colour but it's all down to personal preference.
      Actually, there are some bikes that have the clocks layed down pretty flat. The Royal Enfield classic and Bullet for instance come to mind but this mod has improved it for me.
      Cheers.

    If you don’t have access to a milling machine would it be possible to find some alternate rubber spacers or grommets which would perform in a similar way? Also would you advise a spot of Loctite on the mounting screws to stop them shaking loose? Knowing my luck if I was fitting this myself I would tape protection padding all around to stop me scratching anything!

    hah = if you need some cross threading = get me in ;;;; i am surprised moore s r. supplied hard mounting bushes , these are in no way suitable for delicate instruments ,, your 100 percent right not rattle your clocks to death on potholed roads on a vibrating single cyl ;;

      @old-n-Goldie  5 місяців тому

      Thanks for the comments Simon and thanks for watching. It seems that most people agree with me that they should be rubber mounted. Strange that they decided not too.
