Vaheguru! Thanks ji. I'm not saying you miss nitnem, just that nitnem can take place in a differnt darbar hall, most gurdwaras have two at least. In the Darbar where the Akhand Paat is going, then it should be akhand paat only till its finished.

Maybe you have never been in an Army, I spent 4 years in the British Army and I can tell you that every unit and regiment has its own maryada, own distinguishing marks that build local community and closeness. You can unite even whilst being different. Thats the difference between Unity and Uniformity. Uniformity is we are all the same and its a false God. "Rangi Rangi Bhaati Kar kar jinsi" God made us unique. Dont seek uniformity. Watch our video "how to unite the Panth?". The SRM is unity

I watched this video a few weeks ago and was confused by a detail mentioned here as it was in contrast to my own knowledge and research. I have come back to leave a comment with my new understanding, should anyone care to read this.
For anyone that was initially confused, as I was, regarding the mention that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji contains Bhani from each of the 10 Guru's - this is technically not true (note that I say technically). Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (technically) has Bhani from only 6 of the 10 Guru Sahibs.
It was few kathas ago (at my local Gurudwara), where I again learned that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji contains only Bhani written by 6 of the 10 Gurus. HOWEVER, Baba Hardev Singh Lola wale also went on to explain that it is vital for us all to understand the concept of Joti-Jot: That is, all Guru Sahibs had the Jot of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. As such, all Guru's were Guru Nanak Dev Ji in essence//that they were all one and the same, Guru. THEREFORE, the Bhani's of the Guru's in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji are indeed of all the Guru Sahibs.

VJKK VJKF... TO ALL SANGAT..... Today in Gurdwara sahib the Gianni at the end of Ardass started reading individual names of people & the amount of money they had gave to the gurdwara for ardass, health, fortune ect,,,, I found this very uncomfortable & vulgar to the point were I want to know is this AGAINST MARYADA? As it promotes ahankaar a higher lower status within Gurdwara, individualising people that they are doing more for the Guru paying for bani as appose to someone that does physical seva & prachaar.
    Please state your views bellow.

Krishma Taak If you believe Guru ji is Ghat ghat Dilan ka malik he will know what sewa and wishes you have so It is our dhil and our haumai in play if we need Granthi sahib to read out our names and money donated etc. Ideally we should do our ardas in our own minds .

You suggest that Sikhs must meditate on the word WaheGuru. Please respond to the following two points: nowhere in Guru Nanak's bani is the word WaheGuru used. So he did not advocate us to meditate on WaheGuru. (Of course, we meditate on God/WaheGuru, but not on the word itself.). In Sikhi, every name for God means God. So I understand that Guru Gobind Singh Jio said that WaheGuru is our "mantra", but Sikhs don't believe in Hindu theory of mantra, that it is a kind of magical incantation. So why do you insist that we repeat the word WaheGuru, when Guru Nanak did not do that or advocate that and Sikh tradition says, (like in Sukhmani Sahib) that even if you repeat God's name as you get cut into little pieces and then burned on a fire, this does not earn salvation. Only Gurprasad will do. So why insist on repeating WaheGuru?

Sat Khalsa We chant the Gurus mantra to please our Guru by keeping our consciousness fixed on Vaheguru

Sat Khalsa Waheguru Gurmantra hai Jap Haumai Khoye. Ram Japo ji aise aise Drooh prehlaad japeo har jaise. I Think this is enough to prove that we have to meditate on his name. Wahguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh.
