In my opinion, "You are not the hero" likely means the same thing it does in No Man's Sky. There isn't a Big Bad Evil Guy, or a princess to save, there is no world ending disaster you will be able to solve. The game story will be open-ended and vague, mostly based on lore and worldbuilding. We'll have history and lore to explore, and NPCs and quests to do, but the real "story" will be created by each of us via emergent gameplay storytelling. Our adventures in this world will be the story, we will be writers, not readers.
Procedurally generated... so, not one universe like NMS? The cube... maybe an Atlas predecessor? Maybe this is the planet after the last universe of NMS (Heaven)? Definitely looks like fun on its way!
Watching a gaming video like this, full of the genuine love of gaming and the worlds they want to explore, is fantastic. This take on the new game Light No Fire was upbeat, optimistic, and quizzical. I could hear the smile on your face as you narrated. You have a gift for this stuff, and I hope you keep making videos. Many of us are sick of the cynical, inflammatory gaming culture that ruins the wonder and excitement that people should feel for these unique works of art these developers have created. Every frame in this video could have been a painting; that's how much attention to detail has been paid to world-building, character creation, and NPC uniqueness.
Thanks so much Adam! I appreciate the encouragement. =) I'm not down for a bunch of unnecessary negativity either And I think Light No Fire truly does look like it will swoop me up in it's world. Thanks for watching!
I think if they made the game less like no man's sky it would be better, whole new textures and mechanics to make the game it's own thing. Can't wait to try it out though:)
I had a friend in High School who read a book series called Redwall. I never read the books myself but this game reminds me of the cover art of those books and I love it!
Although we haven't seen it yet. I'm expecting ore veins similar to No Mans Sky resource nodes. These ore veins we will likely be able to place a claim like a mine shaft and be able to mine ore to upgrade equipment. Hope they have fishing for food.
@@GamingwithKristi Well, we Do now have fishing in NMS so it seems certain, I'd say! Great analysis, btw, Kristi! And I entirely agree with your thought that Sean and Hello Games have learnt so much (from both the good, and the bad experiences of starting NMS) that Light No Fire will be far more of a 'polished masterpiece!')
Hope this doesn't REQUIRE groups to achieve things. That would suck. No Man's Sky players are notorious solo gamers so I am a bit concerned they went to the opposite extremes with Light No Fire. Hope my worries are not issues.
I think it'll have the same setup as NMS in that respect. Multiplayer, where you see other players and their stuff. Single player, where you don't see others, but you can see and sometimes use their things. Offline, where it's just you and your things.
@@GamingwithKristi Most games promise solo play but with MMOs that often translates in an anemic way. As an encouragement to play multiplayer. This is merely a small concern. I actually trust Hello Games. They have earned it the hard way.
Hey Kristi 👋🙂I've currently got 1 game on my wishlist currently set for release next year, I don't yet know if LNF will make it onto it too. I'm still not finished with NMS 🙂

That's a really good point. Would totally make sense.

I am NOT gonna jump on the hype train ... but I am cautiously optimistic!
Good job Kristi ... I didn't notice half the things you talked about!
Thanks Grubnar! I'm trying not to have too high of expectations but I am definitely looking forward to taking off for adventure in this world.
@@GamingwithKristi I think most of us are.
I have never been more excited for a game!

My prediction is one planet using the entire no mans sky code.
From atmosphere to core all procedurally generated.
Could be. Looks like there will be some differences too. I think they've been testing things in NMS honestly.

This game looks like it might be for me, will keep an eye on this one.

I think there will be quite a few similarities. Hope it has a Good fishing system.

I'm so excited for this game!
Me too! It has so many great things in one. Thanks for watching!
Definitely have my eye on this one! 🤩
Hi Kristi.. I have been a long time subscriber and I must say this was a great breakdown of this game. Keep up the great work!
Thank you s much angfast!

They have clearly stated that you can play with friends or alone. No worries.

I actually trust Hello Games. They have earned it the hard way.
Little crabs, little skeletons - harder to hit, and can surprise you easier?!
Good point. They could be tricky.
The octopus in the wayet
Also looks like only 1/4th of a log so .. definitely some resource processing might be included
Actually looks more like 1/3rd of a log upon closer inspection ..
I would expect so.
Looks great

Come on lava! You've gotta play it. We'll all miss you if you're not there!
Nobody _finishes_ NMS.
Looks fun, but I'm on a budget. (One of the reasons I like Valheim so much) We'll have to see what price point it comes out at.
Nice commentary…infused with your inimitable wit and grace
Thanks so much Jem!
Hoping from one stream to the next? You're busy!
Busy day! lol! Thanks for joining.
Nice
now there is a sexy voice. just sayin
Definitely picking one of those Rabbits as a starting character and naming it Basil Stag Hare, going into this full Redwall
Wonder if they're edible? (Just asking for a friend!) 😉
