Hello The Champ Of Medium ! Nightwish fans here, your musical quest summoned us. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing at Wacken Open Air in 2013, together with Floor Jansen, the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K+ audience. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. As I saw, you enjoyed the powerful performance of the band. Hope you'll continue on this path. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [The 1st Bassist of the band was Sami Vanska, he was with them until 2001. The 2nd one was Marco Hietala, as Bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. Then very recently (May 2021) Jukka Koskinen became the 3nd Bassist of the band, for at least the Human :II: Nature tour] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs (with links) with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory): "Storytime" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) ua-cam.com/video/pvkYwOJZONU/v-deo.html "Romanticide" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/zz_7OCCQlXs/v-deo.html "Ever Dream" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) ua-cam.com/video/1Xi4n8dJcF8/v-deo.html "Song Of Myself" live at Wacken 2013 (dark/metal) ua-cam.com/video/lQu5QjidHWg/v-deo.html "Dead Boy's Poem" - live Buenos Aires 2018 (soulful ballad) ua-cam.com/video/S8E3L7ggLMM/v-deo.html "Ghost River" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/05eitd-EA6I/v-deo.html "Dark Chest Of Wonders" live at Wacken 2013 (metal, the greatest show opener ever) ua-cam.com/video/OvOD6xecph4/v-deo.html "My Walden" live at Wembley 2015 (celtic / folk) ua-cam.com/video/knqeI807ZlY/v-deo.html "Sleeping Sun" live at Vizovice Masters of Rock festival 2016 (ballad) ua-cam.com/video/pVPTUEW1PEM/v-deo.html "The Islander" live at Tampere 2015 (Marco in charge..) ua-cam.com/video/Zo8ncK_5kzc/v-deo.html "Stargazer" live at Tampere 2015 (operatic vocals / metal) ua-cam.com/video/NhEuAPYm_Ug/v-deo.html "Alpenglow" live at Wembley 2015 (uplifting / metal) ua-cam.com/video/FrJvKZNEh7g/v-deo.html "Sahara" live at Tampa 2016 (middle eastern vibe) ua-cam.com/video/lTvYfLa4Wlk/v-deo.html "Slaying The Dreamer" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/wA44tjaP5n0/v-deo.html "I Want My Tears Back" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (celtic / folk vibe) ua-cam.com/video/TBOdgxjb0kM/v-deo.html "Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean" live In Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) ua-cam.com/video/t26r_vAYQ0Q/v-deo.html "Weak Fantasy" live at Tampere 2015 (dark metal) ua-cam.com/video/AN239Pbqbjo/v-deo.html "7 Days To The Wolves" live at Wembley 2015 (dark metal) ua-cam.com/video/XvsfwAPbWXc/v-deo.html And if you want to hear Floor growling :) then try "Yours Is An Empty Hope" live at Mexico City in 2015 ua-cam.com/video/DuwY1d-KIss/v-deo.html Last but not the least - they just released their 9th studio album on April 10th 2020 named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg.html (for example: "Shoemaker", the 3rd track from this album, tells the story of Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founders of planetary science, whose ash was sent on the Moon after his death, as a tribute from the scientific community ..) Omg! Talking about making my mod job a lot easier, thanks!! I will just return to this comment, when ever we need links or songs to watch from NW. Thank you again for this effort!
@@tinaaikaa77 Thanks for the kind words. The point is that Nightwish has a long and complicated history, with many lineup changes, and the very premises of the composition are complex, with the addition of orchestral and choral recordings, so an explanation for the new reactors is needed - here our late Ann W. made a excellent job. Then, the list of links appeared as a proof of the diversity of the musical directions approached, and developed in time (years), with the contribution of the permanent suggestions of the fans. It's far from a complete list, but it's a good start. :)
That is the type of comment I love to see on Nightwish reactions. We are such passionate fans, and we love spreading the love of a great band to anyone who loves music.
You ain't seen nothing yet my friend. Welcome to the rollercoaster ride that is Nightwish. You will never be disappointed with them. Subscribed to follow your journey down the rabbithole of Nightwish should you choose to do so. Suggest Storytime or Romanticide next from same concert !
@@scottfield5849 one even thought, those were the Uillean Pipes that were mentioned somewhere. How could a vocal coach fail so hard in recognising an instrument...
And Goddess of the southern hemisphere, never underestimate the power of the people in South America, or Australia and New Zealand. I'm a dutchman and proud of what we have to offer to the whole world, sometimes it just sounds like "Radar Love" and with a bit of "Hocus Pocus"', and all of a sudden a "lady smiles". ;-)
All is right with the world again. I couldn’t imagine that you didn’t have Nightwish in your life. But, a kindred spirit among your patrons told me this was coming. Your joy is contagious. Thank you for putting this here on UA-cam. Now, that low gathering rumble is the approaching Nightwish Army. We’re a friendly bunch. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
@@tinaaikaa77 thank you again for putting this on the big list. Champ looks happy. I think it’s a safe bet that a new journey has begun. It will be a fun ride.
Yesss! Going to wear black and purple all day just to appreciate you finally getting on the Nightwish journey! Also looking forward to what kind of dress code we will have with Yours Is An Empty Hope 😄
To your comments of the prominent keys, that Jack Sparrow look-a-like is Tuomas, main composer and musical genius behind the majority of Nightwish's songs. And I love your comment about the guitarist. Emppu can definitely shred, however, he is very much what I would call a "feel" guitarist, in that he never tries to show off, and always plays what the song needs. The drummer, Jukka, is a constant showman. He is beyond energetic and is always entertaining to watch and listen to on the kit. Sadly, due to health issues, he had to step back from playing, but he is still with the band in a managerial role. The replacement, Kai, formally of Wintersun, was handpicked by Jukka, and is probably the closest thing you will find to a human metronome in terms of precision. I hope you continue on this Nightwish journey, as the band is, to me, one of kind, with a catalog full of bangers. Everything from metal to opera to folk music. I would challenge anyone to go through Nightwish's catalog and not find something they don't rock out to.
Welcome to your Nightwish and Floor journey, they blew me away Feb 2020, now it is hard for me to listen to other bands or singers for long, none can match up.
I feel the same. I was a huge fan of Alice in chains, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, , Pantera, Pink Floyd and Tool to name a few. Jan/Feb of 2021 I somehow stumbled across them and they have been the most rewarding rabbit hole ever. I´m quite honestly shocked how much I like them. The crazy thing is their music and Floor´s voice makes me tear up all the time. It is so crazy... so good :)
Oh, it’s so heartwarming to hear these kind words about NW, I have been fan since the late 90’s 😁 but of course I had this geographical advantage🇫🇮 it’s wonderful to hear when people find their soul music ❤️
hello Champ. Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands. Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish. They are from Finland. What you've heard here is just the tip of what this band can do. Nightwish really hits you in your heart. And that's what makes this band so unique. Her name is Floor Jansen and she is Dutch. There were 82,000 people there. Watch out for the Nightwish Army coming up.
I’ve listen to them since 2003 , Imaginaerum is definitely my favorite album! Full of great epic songs, I think I’ve listened to this live concert more then 20 times, it gives me energy and the urge to watch fantasy movies!
Love your reaction and analysis, well done. We discovered this band three years ago and have been passionate fans to reactions to them. They are so talented and tight it is amazing. We just subscribed so we can follow you on your NW journey. Most of their songs are written and arranged by their keyboard artist, Tuomas, and fans refer to him as our Metal Mozart. He is at an elevated level of genius. We see Gabriel has already responded to your reaction, so let us say welcome to the Nightwish community and we look forward to your future reactions. Stay safe and enjoy the ride.
No, this version doesn't sound like the studio version since the studio version was released 9 years before this concert and with another singer with a different singing style. This score is a great song that Floor Jansen helped to improve to perfection to my ears.
Speaking of his perfect guitar solo, just last week at a show he was doing this exact same guitar solo, that I'm sure he's played thousands of times now, and he messed it up. He just made a face and walked off the stage lol. Finished the song perfectly of course.
I think it had lot to do with the guitar, something was wrong with it… he tried to adjust it just before the solo. But what ever it was, he is really awesome player, but still human.
You’ll definitely have to check out her duet on the Dutch show “Beste zangers” with Henk Poort, singing Phantom of the opera. And then from that same show and season, Henk’s duet with Emma Heesters, Emma Heesters singing Floor’s song “Strong”, Henk Poort singing Disturbed version of “Sound of silence”, and Floor singing “Shallow” (yes, by lady Gaga).
Ohhhhh, my dude ..! We have such sights to show you! Incidentally, that shiver when the Valkyrie Goddess is singing is commonly known as a "Floorgasm". Enjoy the ride! 🤘😎👍
Welcome to NW The Champ Of Medium, finally you met our 6ft Queen Floor Jansen (Dutch) 3rd and current frontwoman of the Symhonic Metalband NW. She is incredible. 10 Months earlier she came as a substitute for Anette Olzon, who became sick in the middle of a world tour and had to go to the hospital. NW called Floor and she said yes. She had to learn the setlist in 48 hours (there is a documantary about that) and did that on the flight from the Netherlands to Salt Lake City, where she joined the band on their way to Seattle for the next concert. GLS wasn't even on the list, but because she loved this song so much, NW put it on the list. The last part of the song the previous singer(s) didn't do, so she made it her own, with as result 10 months later at Wacken 2013 this MASTERPIECE. When she belt so high, you got shivers or goosebumps we call that a FLOORGASM. Congrats with your first one. If you want to react to more of them, you can go with the links Gabriel Bardac gave you for now. Greetings from the Netherlands South Division and enjoy the ride with us
Oh man, if you only knew the journey you're about to go on with Nightwish. You better get ready for an army of followers to accompany you on that journey. And I mean that literally. This band's following is affectionately known as the "Nightwish Army". But do not fear. You'll soon find out that if you treat this band with dignity, this army is anything but looking for a ruckus. :) Gabriel Bardac, the honorary leader of this army, has already given you the most important information about the band and recommendations in his commentary, to which I don't think anything needs to be added for now. NW, has many brilliant and memorable concerts to discover. But I think this performance here this evening enjoys almost cult status for several reasons. One of them is that the good Floor Jansen wasn't even an official member of the band at the time of this gig. She only joined 10 months earlier in the middle of this world tour as a replacement for the previous singer. She was confirmed as an official member a few months after the end of this tour. This was the third to last of over 100 performances in 1 1/2 years. I am inclined to say that the dramatic events during this tour almost resemble a fairy tale story with a happy ending. Because with Floor, Tuomas (keyboarder, band founder), who is one of the best songwriters of the last decades and who is also sometimes referred to as 'Metal Mozart', has brought perhaps the best and most versatile singer of this time into the band. She is capable of much more than you have heard here. :) Together with the other band members, this resulted in a combination that is second to none. I'm already looking forward to the next stop on this journey :) 【 'Our rock never dies ever. Forever!' - from BAND-MAID 'Manners' 】🕊️
Great reaction. Floor's range both vocally and stylistically is on another level. She was only with the band for around ten months when this was recorded yet she had made this and the rest of the set list her own. If you're up for a little story then please react to "Storytime" next. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
As someone who knows your channel from BTS reactions I am so thrilled to see you reacting to this. Nightwish has been my soul band for 10 years now and BTS have joined them up there. You'll find lots of similarities between them as you get deeper into the music of Nightwish, especially in lyrical themes. I look forward to seeing your journey with both bands💜
You, sir, just vaulted into my top 5 fave reactions to GLS. Gabriel will be along to give you the 411 and proper links for your journey into the deep and inviting Nightwish rabbit hole that will change your life...seriously. Side note, I'm sure you're tired of this but you exude a young James Spader vibe that is uncanny. Cheers!
@@nicod1361 Some videos that were uploaded from Blu-Ray disc recordings ended up being slightly, but noticeably, slower so Gabriel has the correct links.
@@goranelez9956 David Cameron should do a remake. Nightwish can do the music score for the film & Floor can recreate the Rose scene standing at the prow of the ship with her arms stretched wide, singing a awesome song. (too many to choose from, lol) :)
I have seen reactors getting Floorgasms™, multiple Floorgasms™ even. I have also seen them having Floorgasmus Interruptus...but I don't think I have seen multiple Floorgasmus Interruptus before...at least not that many! Dude, you have committed a deadly sin...multiple times 😝
80,000 people in that crowd to see Nightwish. Talk about pressure to perform. The whole Wacken concert is one helluva show. Romanticide should be next from this very same concert.
Listen to more of our dutch queen Floor Jansen solo projects she did besides Nightwish. She was also on a dutch tv show called Beste Zangers 2019 (Best Singers). She sings different styles of music in different languages. She also did a lot of covers because of the covid-19. You can also listen to her old bands before Nightwish "Revamp" and "Afterforever".
Interesting... A couple of classically trained vocal coaches say she does use artificial vibrato, in some cases at least. I don't think that natural vibrato is the same as small vibrato, or that a strong vibrato indicates it being artificially made. At least that's not what I've been told. Floor's vibrato sounds always absolute perfect, though. Doesn't matter to me if it's artificial or natural.
welcome to NW, I 1st heard NW about 20yrs ago, liked a few songs over the yrs,but then I heard about this band called After Forever with a very tall beautiful & talented singer, when I 1st heard Floor sing a cover of Alone with AF I was SLAYED and since then I have been a fan ,then she came to Nightwish in 2012 and sublime serendipity took place, and so it goes, magic, pure and simple.
Thank you for a great reaction! NW has so many different styles of metal - this is more of their journeyman kind of ballad, but there are SO many other kinds of songs. I really hope you’ll check out at least a few more of their songs, so that you’ll get more of an idea of what they can do :)
sorry but NW is on a whole other level than Evanescence & Floor 's vocals are far above anyone out there,Lacuna Coil came way after NW,and NW is ALWAYS best LIVE !
Absolutely. I generally understand why people come to the initial comparisons but I've noticed that they never last longer than 1 song. Then the penny drops that Nightwish are on an entirely different planet!
NWA, Floor Battalion here. One of the greatest travesties of the 21st Century is how many people have NOT heard of this group, and if they have, they simply don’t know anything about them. It’s truly tragic. Welcome aboard!
Okay, ya done good...there have been so many empty-headed reactions to this song lately, they're actually hard to watch. You brought a contemporary, valid reaction to the song in a way others haven't; reveling subtitles of observation that are new and meaningful.
That Organ is a set up for the Keyboards. It's a (smaller) copy of the Sibelius monument which is placed in Helsinki. Welcome to the world of Nightwish. I love this band so much! They can do everything. Tuomas (playing the keys) is a genius. He is the master mind behind, writing and composing the songs. Greetings from Finland 🤘😉
Great reaction. Floor Jansen is a vocal athlete with incredible range, versatility, vocal stamina, and stage presence. She is a spinto soprano with a range of almost four octaves (D3-G#5-F6). When listening to her sing, it is apparent that she has spent the better part of her life fine-tuning her instrument with help from several vocal coaches. Floor can sing in multiple languages and genres and is a Master vocal coach herself. It is incredible how she is able to take any song and make it her own. This woman is a true gift to her craft and an incredible addition to a band that has always been great until 2013 when they officially hired the undisputed Queen of Metal, Floor Jansen, making Nightwish the greatest band on the planet. Welcome to the Nightwish rabbit hole. Nightwish Army U.S. ( Urban Operators ) in the house.
Welcome to Nightwish. Great reaction, you gave a lot of great comments on this song and I bet that you will enjoy more of them songs, hopping that you will do more of them, at the end you will be confused on which one is your favorite, for a next song I recommend you "romanticide" or "storytime" from Wacken or any other song that draws your attention from Gabriel's list. Stay safe 🤘😁🤘
@@sugoruyo @96Melther - It was neither middle nor the encore. It was #13 out of 15 songs total. This performance didn’t have an encore; most NW performances don’t since they plan out the end theatrics/stage production. Although encores are rarely encores anymore, meaning they aren’t spontaneous and are all planned out, they still have that scripted “exit the stage, wait for applause to build, and come back for another couple songs”. NW doesn’t do that.
@@pro-v7500 ok, you’re correct on the number, I had to go back and check. the fact that this is towards the end is even more impressive. Especially with the last two songs she belts out after this one. She’s just impressive, Lol. I’m sure we can all agree on that.
Welcome to Nightwish, Floor Jansen is, to my mind, one of the great metal / rock female voices, Tuomas (keyboards and composer) is the Metal Mozart, Empuu is the champion of pinched harmonics, Jukka is destroyer of drumsticks and Marko is a legendary bassist and vocalist!
Our 1.83m Dutch Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen is widely considered the best and most versatile female singer of our time, yet undiscovered by a broad audience. As I am a Flooraholic from Utrecht, The Netherlands, here is some more background information on her. She joined the band 'After Forever' in 1997 at the age of 16. My favourite song is 'Energize Me'. They made a very beautiful music video out of this. Floor attended the then new Rock Academy in 1999 and graduated in 2003. Later she did a year Conservatory to learn some more classical singing. 'After Forever' disbanded in 2009 and Floor started her own band 'Revamp' from scratch. Here she experimented with different vocal styles within one song, such as from full operatic to serious growls in seconds. The songs 'Disdain' and 'Wild Card' are good examples. During this time Floor also did vocal coaching and as Floor is a perfectionist she wants to do everything at 100%+. Eventually she had to pay the price and got a burnout. She had just recovered when end of september 2012 the call came from Nightwish to fill in for the remainder of the American Tour as their second singer Annette got ill. Floor had just 48 hours to learn the whole setlist. There is a documentary made of this world tour ('Please learn the setlist in 48 hours'). The lyrics of the songs of Nightwish are very poetic and the music as a whole is challenging, but Floor pulled it off and she stayed for the whole world tour, culminating in this iconic Wacken 2013 Open Air festival which set new standards in open air concerts. It was obvious that the match Nightwish and Floor Jansen was made in Walhalla, so she became a permanent member of the band in 2013 as the relationship with Annette and the band was strained even before she became ill. Floor continued to perform with 'Revamp' for a couple of years, but it became clear that she could not combine the two for much longer, so Revamp disbanded in 2016. Floor did a side project called 'Northward' where she dived into the Hard Rock scene. The song 'While Love Died' is a must see. Her stunning performances on the Dutch TV show 'Beste Zangers 2019' gave her at last some more recognition in her home country where she was relatively unknown until then. There are numerous guest appearances with other bands to find on UA-cam. To see how to get a crowd of metalheads silenced and in awe, watch her featuring with the band 'Epica' and the song 'Stabat Mater Dolorosa'. And to see her in full opera mode watch her rendition of 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from Puccini. As live concerts were cancelled and home isolation due to the Covid situation, Floor discovered UA-cam in the last year and uploaded many interesting videos on her channel. Mindblowing covers, chats with her idols and other singers, vocal masterclasses, personal insights and so much more. She even made a video reacting to herself performing this song at Wacken. Lots of technical info and some memories of her starting with Nightwish. Also her 'Fan Friday' videos are hilarious. Just unpack some of the presents she left there. Floorgasm alert! Floor is a high sensitive person, so peace and quiet is as important for her. Living by the woods in Sweden with her husband Hannes Van Dahl (drummer of the band 'Sabaton'); daughter Freja (just turned 4 years last march); a horse and pony, a dog and a bunch of cats, she found this.
Thank you!! I needed an inteligent reaction to this song!! Thanks again... Please keep it up... do some more Nightwish... there is plenty... and there is quite a bunch of songs that rarely "reacted to"... I know you can do them justice...
Nightwish Shadow Unit from Estonia reporting in ! Valkyrie Queen spotted ! Gabriel Bardac entered ! Our Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist and songwriter of Nightwish) is the main composer for Nightwish. Floor her name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora. Floor Jansen is called the Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy (Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than three octaves D3 to F6). Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020. We hope, that there is more coming. 🤘😎🤘.
Dude, you said exactly what I did upon discovering this song. An event, not just a song. Floors classical Oh, oh oh’s we’re not in the record, those were her additions, there is not a harder working performer anywhere that I’ve seen so far. She is a class act. And immensely talented, you ain’t seen the bulk of her versatility even here.

This is awesome and original vocalist of the band also did a really good job too. I'm not going to say better or worse because both of them are different. Both are awesome in my opinion
Wow, Nightwish? Now you're a real reactor, i would like to recommend Epica, in my opinion Nightwish and Epica are the essential symphonic metal bands, each with it's own style, Epica tends to go more to the progressive and technical sound and i think you will definitely like it, i recommend their song called Universal Death Squad, it's a really good showcase of their sound
And, if a person wants, shall we say, a bridge betwixt Nightwish and Epica, there's always Sancta Terra - Epica (featuring Floor). Talk about harmony and operatic vocals!
Siren, Valkyrie, Goddess in leather, call her what you will, but her voice and looks will destroy your soul, and you will beg for more. got to love her.
Loving ypur reaction. Hoping hou will discover amazing music, styles, eras and singers with Nightwish. Already hyped see them live here in Finland. Subscribed :)
Wow.....you are one of my favorite reactors....how did I not realize that you hadn't done NIGHTWISH yet? You are finally starting your journey...you won't regret it, I promise! 🤯👍
LOVE Nightwish since I discovered them on UA-cam 3 years ago from a reactor!!!! NOW they are my FAVORITE band & Floor Jansen (YAWN-sen) is now my FAVORITE singer!!!!!!!!! Hugs from Florida, U.S.A. 🤗
Nightwish Wacken 2013, the planets aligned to give one of the greatest live concerts ever recorded. And consider Floor wasn't even a formal member of the band at this time!!
Thanks for the react, dude :) I enjoyed this. You might get a few haters because you stopped the video on Floor's epic note, but just ignore them. You did a good job and obviously picked up on some stuff which is great for non musical people like myself to learn. I'm keen to see more NW reactions from you.
Holy S*** it never occurred to me that someone with your taste hadn't heard these guys before. I'm just starting the reaction, so more later. >> ok, at the break--great comment on Emppu on the guitar. Re. Floor, I believe she is the most complete vocalist of the recorded era. Only a few opera singers come close, and none have ever had her versatility.>> re. the keyboardist, as many will tell you, he is the mastermind of the band and the chief composer, so yes, he has a central role.
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
So be prepared. lol "
Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs (with links) with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory):

The links presented above are with the current singer of the band, Floor Jansen, since I'm a fan of the recent era of the band, with Floor as the singer.
That being said, I will add here the message left the other days by some old fans of the band,
@Fabrizio Gorla: " To be fair to the old fanbase, you may want to include also some of these songs.

Omg!
"General Gabriel" is My Favorite "Army-Man"!!!!
The “keyboardist’ is the musical mastermind and composer.
Floor jansen can do anything from death metal growling to high opera notes, 6ft metal goddess, awesome 👌
As the old saying goes... "Most singers sing what they can, Floor sings what she wants."
I've watched a LOT of Nightwish reaction videos, and I've found your comments to be some of the most intelligent and informed I heard from a reactor.
The pipes are just decorative and behind are 3 korg keyboard synthesizers, awesome 👌
I find it amusing how many excited reactors are thrown by Thuomas's fancy stand. Heh. 🤘
@@scottfield5849 one even thought, those were the Uillean Pipes that were mentioned somewhere.
How could a vocal coach fail so hard in recognising an instrument...
The pipes are totally functional... as a wine rack.
You experienced a "Floor-gasm"! 🤘
Floor Jansen, the goddess of the North. Nightwish is an adventure into the unknown. Just know the music and singing will be epic. Great reaction.
And Goddess of the southern hemisphere, never underestimate the power of the people in South America, or Australia and New Zealand.
I'm a dutchman and proud of what we have to offer to the whole world, sometimes it just sounds like "Radar Love" and with a bit of "Hocus Pocus"',
and all of a sudden a "lady smiles".
Allways a pleasure to see you in the comments, Rick 👋
@@tinaaikaa77 thank you again for putting this on the big list. Champ looks happy. I think it’s a safe bet that a new journey has begun. It will be a fun ride.
@@ricklarsen7189 Ohh yes, lets just buckle up and enjoy the ride!
I'm so happy for you. And envious. To experience all of Nightwish for the first time... It's a life changer.
Welcome to your Nightwish and Floor journey, they blew me away Feb 2020, now it is hard for me to listen to other bands or singers for long, none can match up.
wow my story is the same also feb 2020 and nobody compares to them
I feel the same.

It's like several songs wrapped into one. This group is absolutely amazing. Such talent. Hours and hours of practice.
You did a great job of reaction.
Two words!!! MORE NIGHTWISH!
Emppu is allowed the occasional error, cause we love the guy!
@@peterbell3199 What?? You mean he's human?!
You had my sub the moment you talked about the art of Emppu's simple solo towards the beginning of the song
Thank you! Great reaction. Nightwish is very skillful and versatile band. To me "Epic final battle song from Nightwish is Last Ride of the Day.
Greetings from the Netherlands South Division and enjoy the ride with us
Can strongly to listen to whole this concert! One of the best ever :)
I love how you react to all my favorite groups from nightwish to mamamoo lol. Your taste is *chef kiss*
Gabriel Bardac, the honorary leader of this army, has already given you the most important information about the band and recommendations in his commentary, to which I don't think anything needs to be added for now.
I'm already looking forward to the next stop on this journey :)
【 'Our rock never dies ever.
Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
.. And that's what singing is my darlings.. She's totally from another dimension.
Cheers!
"proper links " ?
@@nicod1361 Some videos that were uploaded from Blu-Ray disc recordings ended up being slightly, but noticeably, slower so Gabriel has the correct links.
Pointing out the trill at the end was something I hadn’t heard before. Realized I have heard it but never isolated it to consider…..
I was thinking the same thing, top 5 reactors to metal, and I've watched at least 50 reactions to GLS
Floor's vocal range is so awesome not only can it break glass, it can shatter icebergs :)
Titanic with her would be a slightly different movie :)
The Champion of Mwdium have absolut no idea what Floor can do with her voice ....
@@goranelez9956 LMAO. What a fantastic voyage they all would've had :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 it would probably get 12th Oscar if she sang in a scene
@@goranelez9956 David Cameron should do a remake. Nightwish can do the music score for the film & Floor can recreate the Rose scene standing at the prow of the ship with her arms stretched wide, singing a awesome song. (too many to choose from, lol) :)
Welcome back to Nightwish the Army will be here soon to answer all your question , advance party out.
Its time for morrrrre nightwish!!!
"Are they giving me an ad in the middle of this? Are they ad of they're minds?"
Nightwish is absolutely Amazing.... been a fan for many years
(how did you miss out on watching LOTR?)
We love Nightwish ♥️ love from Denmark
Keep your Nightwish journey going, all the best from New Zealand.
Floor uses only a natural type of vibrato, never emphasized for its own sake, never excessive. For which I am profoundly grateful.
Perfect.
Nothing wrong with comparing, it's perfectly understandable. This does not mean they are on the same level. I don't understand the snobbish attitude.
Here for the NightWish reaction.
Really enjoyed your insight. Subscribed.
YEsss!! I could not have said it any better!
To see Emppu (guitarist) shred a bit, Romanticide Wacken 2013. Everything they do is for the song and shredding fits Romanticide.
YOUR ABOUT TO ENTER THE WORLD OF NIGHTWISH HAPPY TRAVELS MY FRIEND
Follow Gabriel. He has the lore and The List (TM). Enjoy the ride!
follow everyone
What’s really amazing is this song is in the middle of the show. Her stamina is insane. Every single song from this show is worth reacting to.
This was actually the encore…
@@sugoruyo at the Wacken show? Because I’ve watched the whole thing and I have the album and it’s right in the middle.
Great reaction; have lots of fun sliding down the rabbit hole!
Damnit, you did NOT stop there!
Hello from Nightwish Iowa. Welcome aboard.
I love a lot of reactions, but I appreciate yours because your are part of the metal family yourself.
Great reaction, hope you do more Nightwish 🤘
The Nightwish Army is here and we will teach you!! Welcome!!
Welcome to Nightwish, Floor Jansen is, to my mind, one of the great metal / rock female voices, Tuomas (keyboards and composer) is the Metal Mozart, Empuu is the champion of pinched harmonics, Jukka is destroyer of drumsticks and Marko is a legendary bassist and vocalist!
enjoyed your reaction , enjoy the journey dude its an epic one .....
Great reaction man! I would love to see you react to more Nightwish.
Thank you!! I needed an inteligent reaction to this song!! Thanks again... Please keep it up... do some more Nightwish... there is plenty... and there is quite a bunch of songs that rarely "reacted to"... I know you can do them justice...
13:02 I find it incredible how well they managed to sync each other and pyro for this part.
The instrumentations are legit, played by London Fillharmonic Orchestra you hear on the background.
🤘😎🤘.

Best live band in the world. 82,000 at Wacken 2013 and they were the headliners. Haven't heard better since Freddy and Queen.

Great reaction. Thank you. Greetings from Hungary. 🤗
Vi Nightwish y di mi like!! Gracias por reaccionar a una de mis bandas favoritas!! Amo Nightwish y a Floor Jansen.
Siren, Valkyrie, Goddess in leather, call her what you will, but her voice and looks will destroy your soul, and you will beg for more. got to love her.

Thanks for the react, dude :) I enjoyed this. You might get a few haters because you stopped the video on Floor's epic note, but just ignore them. You did a good job and obviously picked up on some stuff which is great for non musical people like myself to learn. I'm keen to see more NW reactions from you.
Thanks for the advice Daria

Holy S*** it never occurred to me that someone with your taste hadn't heard these guys before. I'm just starting the reaction, so more later. >> ok, at the break--great comment on Emppu on the guitar. Re. Floor, I believe she is the most complete vocalist of the recorded era. Only a few opera singers come close, and none have ever had her versatility.>> re. the keyboardist, as many will tell you, he is the mastermind of the band and the chief composer, so yes, he has a central role.
