I love the Mercedes S-class but in terms of reliability in an ultra luxury car the Lexus would be great. Most likely cheapest to repair too, if anything ever broke.

Lexus has its own criteria. In my opinion, the most defining factor is subtlety. A combination of that and a world class man to vehicle communication capabilities make it one of the most accomodating car there is. This is clear once you drive one, it can be a silent gliding luxury car when the driver wants but can also carve any windy road with laser precision. Doesn't seem to be capable of disapointing the driver unless they themselves are unclear of their own intentions.

How was Lexus' AWD system? How would you compare it to Acura's SH-AWD? Is it better?
Love this video! I would NOT buy a mustang, charger, Camaro….. I would buy one of these! I love off road stuff and am lucky to have a2008 GX 470 and a 2019 GX 460 to play with. The 4wd in these vehicles is top notch. 👍🏻❤️

This car is so beautiful and executive looking. I'd prefer this over a 740li any day.
I"m gonna dissent from that view, the 740il is much nicer elegantly designed....the Lexus IS a wonderful machine, with not good styling....especially that front end ugh. Thats kept me from seriously looking at them to purchase.

Lexus does NOT fuck around. And I like that. The automotive industry needs someone to remind everybody which way is up, for them to be looking "down from".
Lexus does a great job demanding respect from the consumers by discouraging access with symmetrical hard plastic covers. It seems as though their intentions are to prevent the public from personalizing them therefore causing onlookers to regard them as bland-until-modified like so many might feel inclined fo view japanese car companys.

Do you guys believe the LS is a direct competitor to S Class? I always felt the S Class was a bit higher on the ladder.
The S Class is a great looking car (I personally prefer its looks over the LS) but at the end of the day, I think most people would go for the LS simply because it's much more reliable and cheaper to fix.
they are absolutely on the same level...literally in the same class of cars. I've had back luck with every German brand (besides Porsche) so I swear by my LS460 and RX350. I won't buy German again unless reliability changes.
no... the current LS actually look great, better than prev one... and LS interior more or less tech looking, if u want executive feel, the 7ers or S class r ur choice.

I love this f sport but unfortunately the awd gets 30 less hp for some reason?. That kills awd for me
The gearing is shorter on the AWD to make up for it. The AWD actually feels perkier and more responsive below 60MPH as a result.
also more restrictive exhaust as result of center differential. Not the straight shot that the rwd exhaust is.
You buying one to drag race or use in the snow? I bought AWD CUZ I LIVE WHERE IT SNOWS. PLENTY OF SAUCE FOR ME.
I am now a proud owner of this awd car without the f sport. Extremely fast, well built, and high quality. Awd is fantastic in dry and wet conditions. In snow, use chains or have a set of smow tires.
@@Erichhh so the AWD Gearing is shorter then the RWD one right? So the Transmission in the AWD is quicker?

Awesome car. LOVE the new looks and the interoir looks much better. This is one of the best cars being built right now.. think this car will ever leave you stranded? You have more of a chance seeing big foot then that happening. I still feel like Lexus isnt take the LS where it needs to go. Even tho most of this great car it can use a change to a COMPLETE all new design. But you kno whats the kicker? this car has been around since 2007? Still running with the best testament to Lexus quality
The only advantage Lexus has over it's counterparts is reliability. That's impressive in itself but I find Lexus cars just a bit too sedate and even when they try to make them a bit more sporty it still doesn't cut it.
I agree with you, but lexus cars are for smooth luxurious rides. No one is buying a lexus to go fast, they're buying one because they know they work and it's one of if not the highest build quality on the market

I REALLY wish Lexus didn't go away with the touchscreens. WAY easier than this stupid mouse setup. Touchscreen kept your eyes on the road.

I disagree, I think they are finding a much more interesting design language. It's the previous cars that were snoozeville. The exception is the large SUVs from Toy/Lex, those are looking like lumpy toads. The new QX50 has a few design goofs, but overall the Qx50 packaging is much more sleek than the LX570. FullDisc: I own a very boring Highlander.
Engine is coarse and unrefined and too many rattles and vibrations for a premium luxury sedan from a Japanese marque.
LOL. I guess you haven't driven one. I have a '08 LSL and I can't picture myself buying anything else, even if they gave me ten grand off of a MBZ, maybe even twenty off.

lol at this guy! Are you talking from personal experience in a LS? What you are hearing in this video are not rattles and vibrations of the actual car....those are creaks and sounds from the camera and or other stuff in the backseat, plus cameras pick up way more sound that what is actually present (I thought everyone knew that). You are literally the first person on this planet to say a LS has rattles and vibrations....you are mistaken as it is the German brands with rattles, creaks, squeaks and vibrations.
