  • For the best video experience, we recommend wearing a good set of headphones for the POV Test Drive at 3:47. The audio in this video was recorded with binaural microphones that, when played back through headphones, give the feel of 3D sound. Trick stuff.

I just purchased a 2012 IS350 AWD spec'd exactly like this one. Super low miles, one owner. I am waiting on it to arrive from out of state. Watching this like 5 times a day in the meantime 😍! Gorgeous video, thanks!!

@@AutoHeadz Yeah man. I paid $19,990 for mine out of south FL (Lexus dealership) with 35k miles in Nov 2019. One owner. Current on all maintenqnce. Interior literally as new. Few little knocks and scratches but great paint. New Michelins. So with used csr prices going up with inflation as long as its clean thst sounds like a deal. Strong cars. I love it. Best of luck.

Looking at the exterior, I think the design dated well. The LEDs still look sharp and the car is still relatively modern. Unfortunately that falls apart interior-wise: the 2014- ISes are much improved in this regard.

Interior might look slightly dated, but it's higher quality. Lexus interior quality has went down with every new generation, more and more hard plastics.

Yes. The 3.5 V6 will be very reliable. Even then, if it breaks down, there are plenty of parts. Toyota uses the 3.5 in many of their cars. It's also pretty powerful. 0-60 in mid 5 seconds. The car is nice, too.

Another Fun Fact: Despite the Lexus Having a 6-speed auto and the Acura TSX V6 having a 5-speed auto, the Lexus actually revs _higher_ in top gear than the Acura. At 80mph, the Lexus runs 2500 rpm, but the Acura TSX V6 runs 2200 rpm.

My owns a 2010 IS250 AWD. I know it's the smaller engine, but man it's horribly underpowered. And I truly feel the transmission shifts like someone with metal ingots for hands is changing the gears. The build quality is second to none however. Spectacularly soft leather.

Saying someone is less of a "true driver" than another can not be determined by the transmission they drive. Did you ever think someone might not have access to a stick shift car? Im sure every automotive lover who drives an automatic would like to own one and thinks that one day they will own one, but simply at the time it cannot happen for them. I agree, it tends to be the popular choice among what you would call "true car guys," but seriously, your argument is invalid when you consider things

I dont like how a variant of this motor is in the new tacoma. Seems too high-revving to be in a truck. They should've just stuck the dual vvti 4runner motor in it and mated it to an 8 speed if they wanted better mpgs instead of going to the smaller motor.

U didn't show that AWD model's awful bulging footwell. I owned that car, 2007 with the 3.5L, for 4 years. Just got a new C400 and haven't looked back. I do not miss 1) the awful driving position (seat will not go down anywhere near far enough, so it constantly feels like you're riding on top of the car, not in it), 2) the truly egregious steering feel. It would ride every line in the road, requiring constant corrections. It would also sometimes disconnect entirely (VERY disconcerting), and it would have no feel 3) The AFS xenon lighting is useless, it makes corners worse, not better. Maybe that's why all 2011-up IS's had the feature removed permanently. 4) the interior switchgear felt like a nice family car, not a Luxury car (window switches are Toyota parts bin, for instance). 5) engine is sadly gutless below 4,000RPM. I always found myself wanting more low end torque. Car needed a turbo I4/V6. 6) brakes are not great at all.
It was also not reliable. Entire AC system blew at 50K, sending shrapnel throughout whole system -$4,000. Steering wheel position system went - $1,000. Full steering rack replacement @30K - warrantied at $3,200. 2 window regulators @70K $800. Control arms $1,200, CV Axles @50K $850. For comparison, the 2006 VW Passat VR6 had an 02 sensor and a warrantied MAF sensor. Still have that car and it's at 100K. Will not drive a Lexus again, they felt built to a price, and a copy of the real thing(s) from Germany.
