This is the best IGaS I have ever watched. Live TV was so much fun back then, and it was neither vulgar nor crass like so much of the garbage that passes as entertainment on TV today.
That was really fun to watch. Got to see how people had such a good sense of humor. Loved seeing the street and cars back then. Class act. My father played a lot of Count Basie. He loved jazz.
I've Got A Secret: I, now, have watched, continuously(I, STILL, can spell!)this episode, 144 times. This is my favorite or, the episode, about, Henry Morgan and, the "owed", $2.00.
This show was made the year my brother was born. I notice they were raising money for “Hungarian emergency relief.” It was also the year of the failed Hungarian uprising against Soviet domination.
(19:35 - 19:52) This just may be the _longest_ (that we know of) the unsuspecting home viewer looked at the _United Air Lines_ travel arrangements plug. 😂
yes it's wild to think of! A lot of them had long careers. And they were such vibrant people, some of them pictured at the "peak" of their lives here in this episode. These episodes are so funny and lively and it suddenly feels shocking to remember that this was 70 years ago and that now everyone seen here has passed away.
*is in hysterics laughing* The only thing that would have made this funnier is if this had been the Garry Moore Show which had Ken Carson and Durward Kirby!
What a surreal episode! Always a favorite of mine
This is so cool! 😎. I was born on Christmas Eve in 1956 so this was fun to watch. 🙂.
I was born in 1956. It's nice to see how much fun TV was back then.
Gary Moore is great and a good sport .. I love this episode. 😀
WOW what got me the most was Henry's "spats"!
yes he often wore those! Henry's clothing style was a little more "old fashioned" even back then, haha.
This show was good ❤I hope I can find Garry Moore playing the drums RIP all panelists and Gary we ❤you all!!!! And miss you all too !!!!
one of the best episodes

DANG RIGHT!
@UFO Bob. I agree.
I wanted to see him play the drums!
There is an episode where Garry does play drums. He is pretty good.
@@pamelaanis715 yes he plays the drums in several episodes, Garry was a very good drummer
That as a great episode
Ahahaha. I love how they finish packing him in a crate, then suddenly: "Travel arrangements for this program provided by United Airlines."
United... and any random pickup truck!
It's funny, and we also get a nice tour of the old CBS studios too!

Bill Cullin was just so adorable :) 😋
that’s sorta like a zoot suit :)
It is a zoot suit- which was pretty retro by 1956.
Garry Moore was such a good sport here.
What a riot!!! In that suit, he looks like Buster Keaton!
I thought so, too! It's a very close resemblance.
He actually wore a similar suit in a show intro where Buster Keaton himself had a secret.

These are both great picks Don!!!! personally i also love the "Christmas 1957" episode (Which is free here on UA-cam too)
Why is this show so entertaining to me?
It’s 2021 for Pete’s sake
I'm guessing, Cw Superman, that you've viewed 2021 primetime television. That's why I'm here.
@ CW Superman --- it's because so many episodes of IGAS are classic, and are still funny even this many decades later!
What did Basil and Gary do to the panel and how do I find that episode?!
That was a fun show!
i love it !!!! :)
Too bad they didnt follow it up at Birdland, I would have loved to have seen Garry Moore play the drums with Count Basies Orchestra!
Me too! 🙂
This show was made the year my brother was born.
I notice they were raising money for “Hungarian emergency relief.” It was also the year of the failed Hungarian uprising against Soviet domination.
In the first shot it looks like the place is on fire.
that was delightful
I wonder if the relief fund for Hungary was when they had anti-Soviet riots, which were brutally put down.
That would be correct, sir.
That would be correct, sir.
Yes. The fall of 1956. I suppose the money was to help refugees who had fled from Hungary.
Yes

Did you notice the credit at the end? Yes, this show was produced by THE Allan Sherman- he had an off-the-wall sense of humor even then!
Yes, until Mark Goodson fired him for the episode about old games lol
When I see the name Allan Sherman I think of "Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah." Lol.
@@lynettepalecek3141 yes same fella. I’ve discovered several UA-cam vids of Allan Sherman singing parodies of popular songs too.
@@gwenniegirl50 I think that he was awesome! 👍
Allan was the creative heart and soul of IGAS. He worked tirelessly to come up with crazier and crazier secrets. And this episode ranks near the top.
Crazy there all bead

Not that anyone cares: But this episode aired the day/night my husband was born :)
Why does Henry Morgan wear spats inside a studio?
Just for style and fashion lol
Lesson here is watch what you do
Bizarre.
huh?
@@virg0_lem0nade Do you think that these stunts make sense?
@@thardingau - they're just for entertainment, lighten up.
