From these 20 CDs i am interested in listening for the first time or again to Eloy, Patti Smith, Arthur Brown and BOC ("The Symbol Remains" is really a great one).
One band I have yet to tire of is the Grateful Dead and I have many shows of two, three, and four discs. There are a quite a few shows I haven't played yet, but I will. I've got to stop collecting and listen more. I think with this forthcoming release, "Dave's Picks, Volume 52 (xx/xx/19xx, location not yet revealed)" will be my last purchase, as I did not buy this year's box set - 6 shows from the Spring 1978 tour, on 19 CDs. I do listen to many other bands and solo artists in the rock genre and I still have quite a bit of that left. I still have my first CDs, Peter Gabriel - "So" when it was released on CD and Billy Joel's 52nd Street original Japanese pressing.
I'm terrible with this sort of thing haha. Sometimes I have to be in the PERFECT mood to sit and listen to something, even if I love it. I'm even worse with books, they'll sit on the shelf unread for years and then I'll burn through it on a random weekend
Based on the 7 minute single Alone , I'm quite excited for The new Cure album Songs Of The Lost World due on November 1st. I still listen to early Bill Nelson solo albums but haven't played Be Bop Deluxe in years.
Since you have only Ocean from Eloy, get also Dawn, Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes, Power and the Passion, Planets, Time To Turn, Inside, Floating, Eloy first album and you'll be obsessed...
Larry once again another great video my friend. I have to ask are you always laid back and relaxed? Your speaking voice is very calming. Once again thanks for all of the videos that you post. I appreciate them very much.
Larry,I've got a question for you,out of all your albums and you have a ton if you were told you had to get rid of them all except for ten albums, which ten would you keep?,I know with your love of music this would be very hard for you. Bob
It’s funny because i find that I don’t listen to some of my favorite bands CDs simply due to burnout. For example I love Black Sabbath but after years of listening to them, I tend to always play other bands that I’ve gotten into more recently
Astral Weeks. Supposedly a classic but I never listen to it. Combat Rock by The Clash would be another that I never listen to. I could name 7-10 more but I will let Larry make the lists. 🤩
I got about 50, maybe more, that I love but never get to play because there's always something new or a bit better to listen to. But I have an idea to fix that and will make a video about that in the next few days, once I'm finished with Sparkstember.
Barnstorm is amazing..Stanley Road is awesome…AC/DC..I would rather listen to The Beach Boys…thank you for getting me excited about Bowie again👍..I listen to Miles quite often but like you not Bitches Brew…
I don’t really think of albums I haven’t played but I think of artists. Time seems to go too fast as we get older. I went through a Frank Zappa phase about 8 years ago but I don’t listen to him anymore - can’t stand him to be honest. I just started to feel him to be too up himself. I am a huge Elvis Presley fan but in the past year I have gotten sick of Elvis fan channels that seem more obsessed with his image and those around him than they do with his music….also his fan base politically and religiously make me want to throw up - it’s hard to listen to his music. So, I am thinking about throwing away my Zappa and Elvis collection.…perhaps Van Morrison too. I’m also want to get rid of much of my Beatles and Bowie albums - Magical Mystery, Abbey Road, Yellow Submarine, Sgt Pepper, Diamond Dogs, Lodger. Scary Monsters, the Next Day…and a few more I never play because I don’t really like these albums. Queen - A Kind of Magic, the Miracle, Innuendo, A Day at the Races, A Night at the Opera, the Works …. I never play and I don’t really like - trouble is they are part of a set. At the moment, all these I mentioned are stored away in boxes. Also, I need to cull my Dylan collection by two-thirds including all the Bootleg series. 👍🏽
@@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin Well said. I used to hear a song called, "You Get What You Give" by the New Radicals on a College Radio station and I loved it, still think it's a great tune. I bought the album with that song on it, the album as a whole is a dud! Weird how that works...
George Harrison Brainwashed ,I've listened once when it came out, it was too sad,it being his last album, but now I've been playing this year ,it's one of my favorite.
Nice video and my example is Trilogy by ELP. I just know it inside out.

Miles Davis is one of my great favorites. Filles de Kilimanjaro and Bitches Brew are really good. What a music!

Barnstorm is a Classic Rock Masterpiece! I saw them at Winterland San Francisco and they played the album! Bought it the next day!
The Cure… MEH! ❤
I saw One Hand Clapping by Wings in an indie theater last night, and the showed a trailer for 2 silent movies synched with Radiohead lps.
Awesome!!
Amazingly interesting,Larry!!!
Expect No Mercy is my favorite from Nazareth - such a great album
If you want to enjoy a cup of coffee while listening to progressive rock music, I highly recommend "Ocean" by Eloy to put your cup on...

Haven't played my Anderson-Bruford-Wakeman-Howe CD in quite a while, but yeah, it's really, really good. "Brother of Mine" is sublime.
_Sheikh Yerbouti_ is the one Zappa album I *DO* play all the time! And I pronounce it like "shake."
Paul Weller provided the guitar solo on Oasis' Champagne Supernova and his contribution really takes that song to another level.
He's awesome for sure. He recently played in Toronto and I would have loved to have seen the show.
Since you have only Ocean from Eloy, get also Dawn, Silent Cries and Mighty Echoes, Power and the Passion, Planets, Time To Turn, Inside, Floating, Eloy first album and you'll be obsessed...
There are a few early Metallica albums that I love, but haven’t listened to for at least two possibly even three years xxx.
When I got into The Beach Boys I too forgot about every other band for two or three years
I listen to Jumping Someone Else's Train every week. Let There Be Rock is a really good album and I probably haven't listened to it in 10 years.
Jesus of Cool, by Nick Lowe, now you would play that often.
Larry once again another great video my friend. I have to ask are you always laid back and relaxed? Your speaking voice is very calming. Once again thanks for all of the videos that you post. I appreciate them very much.
Thanks and yes I am always pretty laid back.

I'd have to think about that one. Maybe an idea for a video sometime.
@LarryGravesCanadianStudmuffin I'd love to see a video like that at some point! I'd have to think of mine real hard

Larry, the solution is to eat more tomato soup

Live Johnny Winter And is different from the studio Johnny Winter And. I suspect he was referring to the studio as his least favorite.

@@AnthonyKiyola sounds like you might be wanting to discover other music. Perhaps the Kamala supporting Taylor Swift would suit you?
@@tdunph4250 How do you know that I don’t already listen to Taylor Swift?
A album is only great if you are listening to them.
Disagree with that statement.
😊
Well if you would put those crappy Beach Boys albums away..you would have time to listen to albums..🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬❤glen
Larry i can't believe you're 66. You don't look a day over 50. You really don't!
Thank you. I feel 80... :D
Do you have any Bad Albums? Guilty Pleasures that you listen to regularly? 😂
I don't believe in guilty pleasures, you should not feel any guilt for liking the music you like.

@@vonstietz I thought Brainwashed was a fairly upbeat kind of album to be honest.
@tdunph4250 I really enjoyed his instrumental song, wish he did more.
