There are 5 types : melee , ranged , mage , summoner and rouge ( you don't need the last one). If you want to be mage collect as much jungle stuff as you possibly can they can turn into pretty good mage armor or weapons.
@KokoKurumii from the jungle you can get a jungle boomerang which poisons enemies and deal good dmg. You need jungle spores and spikes/needles (idk what it was called) from the bees and jungle slimes.
