The Mandolorian redeemed 2020 for me. Gave me hope. Unemployed since Feb. Mom died from cancer in October. Grandma died in December. Luke Skywalker represented every kid's nostalgic feelings. Thank you Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau.
Oh fuck. I had almost the same in 2019. Grandma died in February (she was old tho, 94). But I'd been living with her for about 2 years as a kid & she was very dear to me. Mom died from cancer in June 2019, just 4 months later. That was hard. She was not that old. I was also unemployed at the time Mom died. Had lost my job because of a shitty boss. It was really hard. There was no Mandalorian back then. And the recent Star Wars movies sucked ass :) But somehow I pulled myself together. I got my strength mainly from 3 men: Jordan Peterson (my all-time no. 1) & Brendon Burchard. They tell you how to pull yourself together when you're in hell & how to come back stronger than ever. Still, I'll check out he Mandalorian. Sounds like a lot of fun. Music is dope.
All that's missing is Mando acting like Study Girl and flipping through pages in a book with Mandalore language. With Baby Yoda sleeping in the background.
My favorite thing about the Mandalorian is the fact that he's made to remind you of Clint Eastwood, from how he shoots his gun, to how his bescar klinks like Spurs. The Mandalorian is the Star Wars cowboy movie we've all been waiting for.
He was the mastermind behind the music on Community as well, which was produced by the Russo brothers. I love how much the people behind that show (and their growing network) are influencing MCU and Star Wars nowadays.
I can't get enough of the Mandalorian theme, something about its piano and flute combo (I think those are the instruments, at least) is so majestic, mysterious, wonderful... idk, I just love it so much. It really speaks out the tribal aspect of Mandalorians, heck, it's even in the name: lore

It is called Vode An. It is a mandalorian war chant that the Clone commandos and ARCs trained by Kal Skirata passed to the infantry. The clones would sing it to hype themselves up before battle. It is, I believe, first seen in Republic Commando: Triple Zero. Part of the lyrics (In Mando'a) is in the book. It is a really good read.
One thing that I love about the theme is that it takes the classic western gunslinger vibe of the show and mixes it with something mysterious and almost alien. The beginning of it has a very slight and hard to notice John Williams touch, and the later part of the song where it becomes more orchestra based and a bit happier sounding has a much stronger John Williams vibe, while still keeping it original and unique to perfectly match the character and the show itself.
