Back during quarantine, me and my group used to hang out in a Discord voice chat, and one of them always chose this playlist to be played. I thought his music taste was weird, but now, hearing this playlist again, all the memories replayed in my head, all the laugh we had, all the stories we shared, everything. Not that they're gone or lost contact or anything, but the memories from quarantine just hit differently.
When I first heard this playlist I swore I'd listen to it in Japan on my senior school trip. Just came back from Japan on July 12th 2023 after my trip was pushed back 4 years. The amount of nostalgia this playlist brings me from actually shopping through the streets of Osaka, Kyoto, Takayama, Kanazawa, and Tokyo is surreal. I was so blessed to be able to fulfill my promise to myself, and rewarded myself with a memory I'll never forget to a playlist that can bring me back to those moments. I been listening to this mix for years and its funny how my opinion of it changes as time rolls on. I used to listen to this while at uni and staying up late getting assignments done, so i used to associate this with stress and anxiety. I then found out my brother (who passed away a few years back) also listened to this, quite a lot.
