Hi Sorin, because of your lessons I was able to fix the HP laptop of a friend. (broken mosfet) I'm addicted to your videos and I learn a lot from them. Thank you so much I wish you all the best.
regards Alan
ha ha ...i watched him and fixed a large hp monitor... 3 capacitors...cost me about 2 pounds
your name. 😂😂😂😂😂
@@runthomas Same here but only 1 capacitor fault.
The only repair channel that operates in real time, thanks because this helps us to know that things are not done in a blink of an eye
You are right
Louis Rossmann
I like Sorin
As I asked once but I'm not the only one, we want more desktop motherboard repair videos if it is possible :)
Absolutely.
Then custommers first have to bring him bad mobos
Desktop mobos and laptop mobos are the same , the only difference is that desktop are bigger (easier)
@@MindYourBusiness1970 Actually they're nothing like each other. Majority of laptop problems are charger related, hinge related or liquid damage.
Majority of desktop problems are Vcore related, bios related or socket damage.
When do you ever see socket repair on a laptop....never because they don't have them.
So many faults on laptops are along the 20v rail, but so many on pc's are less than 1.5, again, vcore.
So many faults on a laptop can be corrected just by unplugging the battery, when do you see that on a desktop ?
My current desktop mobo is one that came to me broken....all that was wrong was that the bios jumper was on backwards...when do you ever see that on a laptop ?
@@Grinder-one a fuse it's a fuse ,a capacitor it's a capacitor same for resistance ,diode and all the passive and Active components ,if you need different faults from laptops tablet TV and phones have a look at the older videos and maybe you Will find One where Sorin explains why he doesn't do desktops, what you Need Is to learn how to diagnose not to copy the job of other people
Hi Sorin, you are the only one who can explain practical repair electronics and explain why and what electronic components do in a circuit and why they are in a specific place. The way you explain it is amazing! Must thank you for that! ThankYou !
Amazing how you was so certain about what to check and you got everything right, the way you are so assertive sometimes impresses me
I had this exact same board which I bought £10 from ebay to see if I could fix it. I can't remember exactly now but it had a short to ground I think on the 3.3. At first I thought it was a mosfet because it was getting red hot but after I removed it, the board was still dead short. I injected 3.3 directly into the board and the chipset got red hot....therefore I concluded the chipset was shorted and I gave up.
More desktop motherboard repairs please Sorin :)
Well done Sorin, customer was very lucky
I'm from the Philippines. I will open my own repair shop soon because of Sorin! Wish me luck.
tips for others about pc motherboards:
-after you fix bend pins, you should test each ram slot if is working fine. (very ofter fixed pins are not perfect and then some of the slots are not working)
-when you see thermal paste under processor, then you have to clean the pins in the socket as well by using soft bursh and alcohol. Look what Sorin left at 25:39 left bottom corner)
Maybe he can't start fixing everything on a pc like this? Btw this was impossible to miss, maybe he fixed it before returning it.
@@steinbauge4591 yeah, I can't get it - why he missed that dirty spot on the pins.
Maybe he is affraid to touch pins with brush.
But if you spray those pins with alcohol and use soft brush (paintbrush) with gently moves - it will impossible to bent them.
you forgot another very important thing, don't place the motherboard in the case without the spacers underside
@@francescogreco669 Come on, he does not finish reassembling in the video. The PC was shoddily put together, MB poorly secured, Sorin may have added some screws etc. He would not short circuit an MB on video.. Why would he remove spacers?
@@francescogreco669 yeah.
Sorin is the master in this. He always don't care about metal tape inside the laptop case which is conducive. he always put working motherboard on this.
last time I found laptop which has painted plastic case inside laptop on the little silver color. It looks like silver plastic but it is conducive. multimetr is beeping on diode test.
I've watched a few amateurs' build their first PC, and they seem to almost always drop the CPU on the socket when trying to install it. They think it's fine, because at first glance things look ok, but this is how the pins bend. Of course they only bend a tiny bit by that drop, but after the force of the socket clamp-down they fold under like that.
Nicely done Sorin, have a awesome weekend.

Sir my name is johnwilson i am from india pastbone week ibwas watch your video is very good very Excellent explanation
when he said the processor is warm I got so happy you can't believe!
Well spotted Sorin with the cpu pins .i certainly would never have thought of that .Happy weekend to you Sorin.
Very amusing Sorin, Thanks and nice work from Australia
Perfect job as always. You should telle the customer there is a missing fin on the white fan near you (look the face cam).
watching your new uploaded videos every morning while sipping a cup of cofee, very relaxing
I have built a lot of computers and only switched to intel recently and I have been dealing with bent pins. There is only one way it can go in and I didn't drop the processor and still somehow I deal with bent pins. I wonder if they stick to bottom of chip. It has been tragic, dealing with no post condition.
After cmos reset and reseating e errthing there is generally no clues other than dead mobo. But you should be able to get bios, or so they say, and this is what happened here. Generally you cam rma the board and they will refuse free swap, so you go off of what people tell you and this is what happens.
Great video thanks
Wow Mr Sorin. You are EXCELLENT! More desktop motherboard repair please!!.... I wish i could be as good as you
You're now my idol in computer repairs
Sorin jumping up and down, just as a kid is happy for an achievement. ❤️
Truly professional at his finest! Thank you teacher Sorin!
Legend
WOW this channel !!!! I Like your video very much. I have just subscribed
I had for many years the same motherboard but on AMD chipset, MSi 970 Gaming ,it never let me down, it still works smootly on my brother's PC.
What a champion! Love the video! Its Working!!
Wow , Great job Sorin .
Super Sorin nice repair
And a great weekend
Nice job. Good eyes and patiance, thats the secret
Sorin please clean you microscope lens probably it get some dirt from soldering paste etc is blurry a little bit not clear like in previous videos... Btw keep it up old wolf :) you are great man !
Sorin thank you for the great video! Dental pick works well for straightening pins like that. You did awesome fixing them with tweezers! I probably would have bent pins adjacent to the ones I was trying to straighten using those. I bet you are right about the customer - thought bios was corrupt but they bent pins somehow. Wonder what they did to bend the socket pins...
Great video sorin, all the best
i like the way of Handling repairs, Easy and simple, That's ur advantage, keep it up buddy, and ur equipped with high tech broadcasting software's and devices than repairing tools, may be u can use more tools even though ur happy with existing ones.any how thanks for the service, i leaned a lot last one year, Thanks Again.
I really liked the video. Thank you very much for sharing the process. Nice microscope you have!
Lucky you rescued their carelessness! I’ve dropped a cpu into the pins before it happens, but you don’t just fit the cpu and expect it still to work after!
Nice one , We need more videos about desktop motherboard repair
Great job thank you for being the best repair channel
Well done Sorin
I think the customer flash-it and it went wrong. Then he played with the processor, smeared it with thermal compound and tried to clean the pins.
I enjoy your videos.
Thank you for sharing your knowlege and your insight.
Take care and stay safe!
Ah, a little DIY (damage it yourself) xD
Nice job Sorin.
I wish you be happy all your life Sorin😊⚘
Thanks Sorin I really enjoyed this episode. However i would've love to have seen you put the heat sinc on nevermind. I wish i had your knowledge.
i had to repair a bit of a white elephant dvd -ram (not dvd-rom) drive quite a few years ago that had a few missing pads - as it was a sort of fix now as its urgent and worry about it later I replaced the pads successfully with carefully cut pieces of copper tape the type gardeners use to deter slugs - it took the solder well and was able to easily connect the traces to them the drive ran until dvd-ram disks were no longer easily available
You are a very smart man 👍
Great session as always. It is a pleasure watching and listening and learning. The lighting is also very good in the videos, something changed? Some upgrade?
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Soren!
Thanks to you sir I learned a lot from your videos. May God bless you…
another unbelievable job..👏👏👏
give customer a good lesson about lying :D nice video
Sir please make more videos on desktop mother board and explain about all desktop mother board sections and how to diagnose... Please make it sir
Indeed.. in particular the powersupply feeding the motherboard that’s pretty complex vs a laptop
@@Arvidje you are right
Up for that

Yes,always the same thing - customer declares to just repair this and you find another fault which you must deal with.
Great repair as always!
amazing job
Thanks Sorin, Nice video. I wonder if the customer repasted his cpu and failed to complete the job properly. CPU not detected after paste job due to bent pins and stray paste so he thought the BIOS was faulty and then broke a pad on the BIOS trying to fix...Machine gets brought to the doctor. EDIT type this out before you explain...I agree. BTW I like that HDMI lead you have :)
You sir are amazing 👏 🙌
Good job.
How i heard a few broken CPU pins isn't problem. So how many is this "FEW", 4-5 pins?
1:09 You see Sorin, customeers are dodgy too, they not tell all the truth! Wich is sad! But hey, what to do?
That eureka moment, 27:44 happy sorin!
By the way, very keen eyes!
The customer playing dumb but he doesn’t realise you’ll suss him out.
Better than TV! Thx
Outstanding
great job sorin , no 7900x intels are apu its the motherboard has intergrated gfx
Sei sempre il migliore.
Good done for you..
good job Master
i like to watch your channel 😍😍 i learn a lot from your channel sir.. im your fans from malaysia.. i learn about charging block, dc-dc block, and vram from your channel sir 😍😍

What's with the power supply are the mounting screws missing ?? Looks a bit loose ?? Cheers for now
I can't believe either, Sorin!
Good day Mr.Sorin, this is the second video of yours that I am watching, till now I find it surprising that why you are not using Antistatic Wrist strap?
The first video I watched you were working on a Laptop, there was no WWS either?
I know that you can discharge by holding something that is attached on the ground, but safety comes first.
Otherwise your videos are very professional, Keep up the good work.
Thanks for sharing this mate👌👌
Thank you.
thats a very nice looking motherboard.
I had a problem today. I got a Laptop for fixing, no charging, no power, nothing. 19v and 3.3 is present. when i press the power button, 3.3v lon the charger goes to 0 and back to 3.3 as its supposed to be, but nothing happens, no light, no fan spin, nothing. then i checked the super I/0, there was 3.3v in the capacitors around it but i couldn''t find a scematic. still, because the power button works but nothing happens, should i replace the Super I/O? i love your videos, they have taught me a lot
Very nice tutorial.
Sorin making it Look easy again...lol
the boss is back again
masterclass like always
I have a cpu with maaaaany pins bend or broken. How its happen? I used intel for my entire life, bought AMD cpu for the first time and didnt notice the pins are actually on the cpu :| Hoping one day to have enough knowledge and tools to be able to fix it myself.
Your videos are amazing, thank you.
Another great repair!
where are the spacers for the mainboard Maschinelle ( otherwise short circuit )
Good work.
thank you ,i have a problem with this ic tea 1716 in led tv power supply NO POWER, her problem is that it was exposed to high voltage, and I found the main capacitors swollen, I replaced them, but the IC heats up greatly, but it is fine because I removed it and tried it in another card and it worked fine. Where is the problem? Is it in the components surrounding the ic tea 1716? but which pins of ic responsable for overvoltge or which components must be change smd capacitors and resestors or all them.
Nice work, I guess if you put some solder mask on the trace will prevent any shorts in the future
this guy is awsome
Hey,Sorin
Can you make video about making your own electrical transformer
hello.. im your fans from Malaysia 😍😍😍😍😍
This guy is a living legend
I used to get a credit card carefully run on down the proccer if the pins were bent but that was a long time ago. nowadays the pins are on the motherboard aren't they wonder if that's why they manafactur that way cheaper to replace the board than the chip??
Nice job. Man.
if cpu gpu warm.mean its fine?? i have black svreen issue dont know which to check
nice work.
i know this is an old video, but I have a question. Do sockets for bios chips exist? So can I solder in a socket, so the bios chip is easily swappable?
where do you find replacement chips?
I also have a laptop to check, if it can be repaired I don't know if the motherboard works, Where is that store, exactly if it's in London?
